I did research and found this seemed to be the best practice after checking around. I was trying to get my colonoscopy before the end of the year for personal reasons. They found a cancellation in the schedule a week and a day after I was in the office at the local Surgery Center. Outstanding that they were able to get me in and get this procedure done quickly. I was expecting to have to wait 3-4 months and that just wasn't the case. That may not be your experience, but it certainly was mine and they were willing to work with me. I also had labs when I was in the office. They came back the next day and the PA who I saw (Frances Adams) contacted me immediately to discuss the results and her thoughts on the findings. She wants me to get an endoscopy in addition to the colonoscopy. I'm waiting for the office to contact me to get that scheduled. I have had a wonderful experience here thus far and am surprised by so many poor reviews. I've been to a lot of poor practices in my lifetime, but they certainly aren't. You do have to wait on hold a fair amount when calling, but that's to be expected. Highly recommend this practice if you need a GI doctor or a GI procedure.

It took much longer than that and countless of phone messages, emails, and texts. One thing that really helpful was that I reached out to my health insurance provider for help. It was stressful! I did get my deposit but it was $30 less with no explanation of what the extra charge was for even when I tried to get one. Dr. Blosser is an excellent GI but I will not return to this practice nor would I recommend anyone to go to this practice because of the way it conducts its business. Dealing with this practice's business office is was a real nightmare!

That level of negligence should have been a warning sign, but unfortunately, it only got worse. I was scheduled for a preventative procedure, and after completing the full prep the day before, I was told that morning I had to pay a $500 deposit up front. At that point, I had no choice but to go through with it. That kind of last-minute surprise billing is unacceptable and unethical. Later, I received a separate invoice for $1,875, even though my insurance confirmed the payment had already been made to AMGI. My insurance provider reached out four times to confirm the payment and received no response. I also submitted an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) showing the amount was approved and paid. I had a virtual appointment on Friday afternoon. They were running 30 minutes behind, which I don't ever mind if a provider gives me the time I need. They did do that. The PA was supposed to call in medication and an order to Fairfax Radiology. Well I call the pharmacy to see if it was ready and they never received the prescription. I then call Fairfax Radiology to set up an appointment and they have no order. Of course all of this on a Friday afternoon before the weekend. I didn't want to page a dr over the weekend even though I didn't feel well, so I sent them a message through their portal system. The lady who responded said they sent them on Friday. That may or may not be true, I don't know, but there was an issue somehow because two independent facilities told me they hadn't received them. I then call to get a f/u scheduled this morning. The receptionist could not figure out how to book an appointment for the provider I had seen. I was on the phone with her for 15 minutes with her trying to figure it out. After 15 minutes of trying she then tells me she has to put me on hold while she can figure it out. After waiting 10 more minutes and her not returning, I finally hung up. It shouldn't be this difficult to schedule an appointment. I then call back to try and talk to someone else and get an appointment scheduled and they ask me to leave a message, that they'll call me back. I haven't heard from them yet. It shouldn't be this hard to get an appointment scheduled and medication/orders sent. Especially when you don't feel well. You can look at my reviews. I generally don't like to give poor ones, and have previously been very happy with this practice. In my experience their providers are very knowledgeable, empathetic, and accurate in their diagnosis. The lady I saw Friday was no exception to that. It is the way the office runs that seems to be the issue. My recent experience with them is the way the office is run has changed and they're difficult to deal with. My hope is they can rectify this because if not, I will be looking for another practice.

I've been a patient for YEARS and only managed to see Dr. Lafsky in office ONCE due to repeated scheduling errors on their end. The final straw was after being denied a scheduled appt. With Dr. Lafsky by Nancy the office manager. All bc I missed an appointment while I was in the hospital with SEPSIS. Instead of telling the doctor I was there she sat me and my MOTHER down for 45min to lecture us about missing appointments. I even called from my potential deathbed to cancel and i saw Dr. Lafsky while in hospital!! Later that weekend, I retroactively received an invite from the receptionist Sam to an entirely different appointment the previous month that I did not make nor was I ever informed of. Clearly trying to clean up a screw up. So, after trying to schedule an over due Endo and colonoscopy for 3 years with this office, I finally gave up and found a new GI. I came in as a new patient, had my first appointment, and both procedures scheduled and performed in less than 2 weeks. If you are having issues with this office, it's them not you, just run.
