It's easy to navigate the terminals and bags are returned to baggage claim in a reasonable amount of time. The airport is kept clean and there's a good selection of vendors gate side for an airport of this size. The only thing TUS needs is a few more direct flights to other cities, but that's more on the airlines than on the airport itself. As a private pilot, the facilities air side are quite good as well. If you're visiting Tucson, welcome to our city! Be cautioned of the city's (not airport) new speed trap along Valencia Rd. as of May 2026. It's a seven lane road posted at an abnormally low 30 MPH. It's best to avoid Valencia Rd. completely and head straight out Tucson Blvd. to reach your destination within the Old Pueblo.

It's a pretty small airport,, literally just a handful of airlines or so that people will know that flies from here, and then maybe a couple of local airlines. Since it's not a huge airport that does help with the going in and out of the airport at least, from the security line checkouts to the different gates, as they're basically all in the same place. As far as restaurants and stuff inside, it's definitely more of a drinking airport, as most of the places in here aren't going to have diverse flavors or anything and mostly just bar type places. Don't have much more thoughts about the airport. It's fairly smaller compared to most, but that's not always a bad thing as it's a straight forward line in.

A few years ago, my beloved airline changed its partners and I moved back east, leaving my airline loyal heart in a state of depressed and foggy uncertainty. Recently, my very certain and clear hotel loyalty offered me a new opportunity to bring my hotel and airline loyalty game to a new level of awesomeness, but it would mean moving to a domestic airline I'd never flown...well, today was the day of the test run...United Airlines, you exceeded my expectations and much to my own surprise, won a new customer...I'm still stunned. Their partnerships with Marriott/Ritz-Carlton, Hertz, Lufthansa and Austrian formed the winning "quad-fecta"...yes, it's a thing...shut-up The plane was in perfect condition, the crew and service were extraordinary, and the vodka tonic was world class...lol...plus I got MY seat. Those who know me best also won't be surprised that I spent months reading up on them...from strategic plan, to reviews and everything in-between. United is quietly doing some truly extraordinary things to elevate their game and customer experience. I am one very tough customer who is noting those efforts and appreciating their outcomes. It has been written and said that airlines treat their customers like the disloyal cattle they are...My hat is off to you Mr. Munoz and your amazing team for working to prove that notion extremely incorrect and in doing so, elevate your services, amenities and overall customer experience. Being a Sunday, I figured nothing was open, but when I spoke to the front desk they were happy to hold the airplane key and leave a note for Ron, the head of maintenance to look at in the morning. I called on Monday morning to confirm and Ron said they would look at it in the next couple of hours. Before noon he called to say it was all fixed and back where I had parked it. It turned out to be a broken wire, so no additional parts were needed. I was very happy with their attitude, there willingness to work on it immediately, and the cost to repair. I didn't spend much time inside, but it is very clean, spacious and has great pilot rest area and flight planning room. I highly recommend them if you happen to be travelling through.

Also they should try power washing a few planes and letting folks see the inside of these majestic huge tankers, etc. No outside food sucked too. On the other hand the WWII exhibits are a great example of restoration and hard work.
