I have been seeing the same nail tech at a different business for over a year but she couldn't take me and I needed my nails done so I came here. I'm VERY particular about how I like my nails, and I warned him of that, and he didn't mind. I have very few complaints. He offered to do designs but again I am so particular I was nervous to accept and I normally do plain Jane nails anyways. He honestly did a good job, they don't look messy they look nice and neat. I think I've found my nail salon. Now this was only my first time here so maybe I need to hold my horses but this has been my best experience in a while. RVA nails is in a shopping plaza so there's lots of parking. The wait was not long, shorter than I expected actually. The guy who worked on my nails, Luke, went right to work and didn't get up 865 times during my service so that was great. He was gentle when removing my broken nail that needed repair and pretty quick with his craft. The shape of my nails look good and he didn't try to push any other services on me which is great. It definitely gets annoying constantly being nudged to get something else whether it be a pedicure or rhinestones or whatever. He let me get exactly what I wanted which was refreshing. I decided on adding a marble design to two fingers, he did a good job. The price was also good. For a gel fill in, nail repair and marble design it was $38. The reasons I didn't give them 5 stars was because the place isn't nice nor was the customer service a 5 Star experience but I am perfectly happy with my nails :) Could be a fluke idk but I'll definitely be back here. read more

Was in there for 4 hours and paid $70 for my nails to look like shit they then tried to fix them but it still looks bad the first picture is what I wanted and the second is what I got at first after I told the woman to change it she started being really rough with me my fingers were bleeding. Yes, it is a busy place but for good reason! I made an appointment in the middle of a weekday so there was no real wait time. My nail tech was Shelonda and she did a great job! Very detail oriented, takes her time to do things carefully. I especially loved how perfectly she shaped my (natural) nails. $25 for a gel manicure is a great deal and they lasted a full two weeks without any chipping; I had to get it removed because I had too much new nail growth and not bc the polish itself had issues. I went here to get pampered and I forgot to update! I enjoyed getting my nails and toes done. I received dip powder + tips on my fingers and gel polish on my toes. The nails lasted for a month before breaking off on my two middle fingers. I had to go back once because the day after, the black design on the red came off on some nails. Coming to RVA Nails was such a relaxing experience! This is not the newest, most luxury looking salon however it is still quite relaxing although it's seems to be always busy. They offer great prices as well and if you've seen their IG, you know Minh is great as at designs (he does charge extra per design). I prefer sculpture nails since they are healthier for your nail. They start $30 and it goes up with length. The gold leaves were $4 per nail. Minh and his wife was very chill and kept good conversation so it was overall a nice experience. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I got dents in my nails and I absolutely hate that. I will be coming back the next time I decide to do my hands. Update: Came here again two days ago and I just wanted to add to make sure to clear 2 hrs for your appointment. No, it won't take you 2 hrs, however I had to wait 30mins after my scheduled time to get start since he was running behind. I paid $133 for nails that didn't resemble the nails I wanted. Then the tech kept scrubbing my finger tips, which are now raw with cuts and burns to run water over. I made an appointment and they rushed the entire experience. I asked the tech 3 times for jewels and I got tired of asking. So my friend asked her are you going to put the gems on and she looks at the picture and says I don't have the same ones I don't think I can do it. I got a pedicure and full set. They got started right away-- no wait because there's about 5 techs. I liked that the nail techs had diversity. A woman who appeared Indian and an African American. I believe it's Asian owned as the man in charge was Asian and my nail tech was Asian. My nail tech doesn't pay attention to detail. My toe nails are not all even but otherwise, the pedicure was okay. The bails however are a disaster. I came to this place after the previous place I tried did not have good customer service but at least that place had decent nail service. RVA nails was really a poor experience. The tech convinced me to do gel when I wanted the dip. She said it's better and faster. My nails came out really bad. They're clumpy thick and they look sloppy. After paying over $75 for both services, I feel robbed. I hope the other technicians are better, but this lady does terrible work. ---- (2 days later after my 1st review) I contacted the business on FB and told them how I felt about my nails. I felt. Bad because people noticed how my nails looked. So they said that I could come back and they would fix them. I had them repaired by the owner. First, I will say that I certainly appreciate that they were willing to accommodate me. Again I was greeted upon walking through the door immediately. I signed in after explaining why I was there. The wait was pretty long this time. About an hour roughly. Still about 5 technicians but there were 6 people in front of me. The repair work started and my nails look a little better. The lumpiness isn't as apparent and she reshaped a bit to thin them out. The original tech was there and she was still friendly despite my dissatisfaction with her work. Natalie was my technician and I was extremely happy with my service. She reshaped my nails, did a beautiful gel polish job with an even more beautiful stone accent nail. She was funny and really down to earth and before I knew it my service was complete. I fully expected to be charged at least $50 considering all the work she had done. This was my first time coming to this place. I followed there instagram and was very excited to try them out. I did call in advance and ask for a appointment and was told they were booked up, so just to come in for a walk in. I didn't have a long wait time and was taken immediately. I had a sweet lady, I showed her a picture I had seen off of there instagram and told her I wanted something similar to the picture. At first it was going well. Towards the end I noticed some issues hoping she would notice as well and fix. Eventually it got to the end and she didn't fix all the problems like I had hoped. It looked sloppy and unfinished on some fingers and nice on others. I let it go figuring that it wouldn't be that expensive so I would deal. When it came to pay they charged me $95 not including tip! I was outraged! I didn't leave the place with a $95 full set. I wasn't fully satisfied and I'm still in shock. I have never paid that much for my nails ever and I like fancy stuff! rhinestones/jewels and glitter,etc I would maybe consider trying them again if I knew in advance how much it would be, but at the current moment I don't plan on going back any time soon. Went two days in a row and spent 2 hours in this salon each time and my nails still weren't done. The first day it was taking so long that I had to leave after my fill in without any polish. I decided to try again the next day to get my nails polished. After 2 hours of waiting I left and went done the street to another salon to get shellac polish and was done in 30 minutes.
