I called Beacon this morning and spoke with Patrick, the owner, to schedule an appointment. I thought it would take a couple of days for the new installation, but Marc and Teagan were at my house installing the new water heater by mid-morning. They did an amazing job.     This is a long review - Cliff notes version - Fantastic service!!…read more A leak from our irrigation system allowed water to enter through a vent in the foundation and into the crawl space. There is moisture down the wall under the vent, and some dirt that was forced down there by the water pressure on the flower bed. We weren't sure how bad the damage was, and tried to help dry the crawl space by putting a small fan down there. But, I thought we'd better call someone who knows how to evaluate the damage and make suggestions and/or repair the damage. So we called Beacon. Rich answered the phone and arranged for us to get a visit from him that very afternoon. I was out of the house, but my son (38) was there when Rich came out. My son was very impressed with Rich's willingness to go down into the crawlspace and evaluate the issues. He said Rich was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Not only that, he was ethical enough to tell my son that because the irrigation issue was fixed, and there was really no damage that needed fixing, all was being taken care of well enough. I had imagined that he would be saying that he needed to put holes in the wall and bring giant fans to allow everything to dry, costing an arm and a leg, but instead, he came and gave us a no-cost evaluation and recommended we keep doing what we were doing (just a household fan and a little clean-up). He was very professional throughout, and took time to explain everything and provide clear evidence to support his recommendations. Josh also took the time and initiative to help track down filters for our kitchen water filter and figure out the appropriate specifications on the frequency of replacement, and a quote for doing the work if we wanted further assistance.

Unfortunately, my experience with Beacon Plumbing was one of the most unprofessional customer service interactions I've ever had. We submitted a work order for a leak under a kitchen sink. Several hours later, we received an email in all caps stating, "CANCEL, INFORMATION NOT CLEAR." There was no explanation or request for clarification. Confused, I called the office simply to understand what information was needed so we could get the work moving forward. Camille answered the phone, and the conversation quickly became hostile. Rather than allowing me to explain or working toward a solution, she repeatedly interrupted me, refused to hear my explanation, and ultimately hung up on me. Thinking the call may have been disconnected or there had been a misunderstanding, I called back. Unfortunately, the second conversation was even worse. Camille remained aggressive and dismissive. When it became clear she wasn't interested in resolving the issue, I asked to speak with her manager. Her response was, "I AM the Manager!" Your phone system states that calls are recorded. If that's the case, I would strongly encourage Patrick Cahill, the owner, to review this call. As someone who owns a business and manages employees myself, I was genuinely shocked that an office manager would speak to a customer this way. Ironically, we had a Beacon technician complete a work order at one of our rental properties just days earlier, and the experience with the technician was excellent. Because of that, we were excited to send more business to Beacon. Unfortunately, this interaction with the office completely changed that. Customer service matters just as much as quality workmanship, and after this experience, I cannot continue to trust Beacon with our business. It's unfortunate because this could have been resolved with a simple conversation. Instead, we've decided to take our business elsewhere.
