I contacted Gary with questions concerning my old Omni awning. I live in Alaska, so having him come take a look at the part in question was not a possibility. We determined what type of awning it was, and what it would take to replace the fabric on the awning. At ONE time, he instructed me that if I wanted to order the fabric to call him at the office. Upon me sending him an email and politely asking if he could also provide parts for said awning, this is the reply that I received:
"Sorry no.
I requested you CALL ME with questions. You continue to email with questions.
I cannot work that way.
Please stop contacting me.
Gary Smith"
This is the reaction from a total of 8 emails over a 1 year time frame.
The way in which he handled everything, and the fact that he did not just say, "I prefer to do business over the phone." Has helped me decide to simply order a new awning through amazon.
This day in age, I try to go through small mom and pop shops type businesses, but simply will not give him my business now. read more
