Dr Ruth Adams is the best. She takes her time with patients and is very friendly. So glad we found her.

Called the billing office and they referred me to the office manager. When she finally called me back, she basically called me a liar and refused to remove the charge, correct my chart, or speak to the doctor. I really liked Dr. Fuller but I won't go back. It's not about the co-pay I had to pay to keep my good credit, it's about my medical records being charted incorrectly and being treated so disrespectfully by their office manager.

That said, expect ridiculously long wait times for appointments, and don't even think about being a few minutes late. I was turned away for being seven minutes late--despite calling ahead, them knowing I'd have to wait once I arrived, and the fact that there's always at least a ten-minute wait once you're in the exam room anyway. It seems the nurse's discretion overrides months of waiting for an appointment. There's no consideration, no flexibility, and no regard for patients' time. The good news? There are other dermatologists in Carson City who offer equally great care, treat you with more respect, and actually value you as a patient. Good riddance, Skin Cancer & Dermatology Institute (Carson City)!! Get off your high horse and do better

He treated my bcc on my nose and I expect excellent results. I was able to talk to other patients who also had great results with their skin cancers. He is extremely well thought of and we are fortunate to have such a doctor in our area. His Mohs treatment center is very comfortable and his staff are caring and helpful.

Complications happen with medical procedures, what is unacceptable is a lack of professionalism, compassion and integrity when dealing with them. A simple basal cell carcinoma removal has resulted in a seven week nightmare: two infections (one staph), two sets of painful injections to reduce scar tissue, and sanding the incision site to fix what the two sessions of injections did not fix. Currently the surgical site is still not healed. Many of the problems could have been prevented if adequate post surgical care instructions had been given by nurse Lynne (my husband had accompanied me to each procedure hearing what was included and omitted) or if phone calls regarding the second infection were promptly returned. When the issues were calmly presented to Dr. Rowe, he questioned my GP's ability to diagnose an infection, and defended his nurse - all but implying we were lying. Finally, he spat out; "you can hate my guts but your outcome will probably be fine." I don't enter a medical office looking for companionship - I'm seeking a professional service delivered professionally. If you are looking for the same - take your business down the road - there is another skin cancer office there - I hear they are quite good.
