Rachel did a phenomenal job on my makeup for me and my bridesmaids at my recent wedding. She had to travel over an hour to our venue and showed up early and ready to bust out over 9 girls. I honestly have never felt more beautiful in my life. She does a great job of making you look naturally beautiful without all the heavy layers of makeup. My husband generally does not like when I'm all dolled up (has HATED in the past) when I get my makeup done at mac or counter shops but he LOVED my makeup for our wedding. Cannot have been happier. Thanks Rachel!

Lash perm & tint (eyelash curler not used, and no waterproof mascara)

I went into see Rachel to help my eyelashes - they are very long and very straight, very hard to keep a curl. Each morning I would need to curl them, holding it there for a couple minutes, re-curling, then applying waterproof mascara to keep the curl, if I used regular mascara my lashes would begin to droop, straighten out again. Rachel applied the lash perm and tint, and wow, it's a game changer for me. Since then I have not touched my eyelash curler or waterproof mascara. It makes the morning make up session much easier and night face washing even more easy. A couple days later, I went for a facial. Rachel suggested the Enzyme facial with a peel. I have never done any type of peel before, and again wow! It's been 4 days since the facial and my skin is super smooth, and looking really even toned. Usually I will apply a concealer for under my eyes and powder for my make up routine. Today, I didn't feel the need to apply make up this am, just recommended moisturizer and regular mascara for me this morning! I highly recommend Purity Aesthetics.

But I look great for 59. a mani-pedi once a month is what this costs me, and this lasts the yr. so that's a valuable present to myself. The procedure is pretty fast and hardly painful at all, for me. The staff is lovely. Thoughtful and considerate. I only met one person that seemed cold, aloof maybe. Dr Salm did a Mohs surgery on my forehead and did a wonderful job! The scar is barely noticeable. And he said I cud come in and get it lasered for free. But it's so faint it doesn't seem worth the trouble. In addition to his skill, he just seems like the nicest man. The staff that assisted him that day, I can't praise them enough for their genuine care.

I've worked in ski clinics that are cleaner. The provider misdiagnosed my son's skin bumps as warts and was ready to freeze dozens of spots. A second opinion found them to be caused by eczema and his skin was cleared completely with non invasive treatment. I've heard several horror stories of skin samples being tossed in the trash, instead of being sent for biopsy and the list goes on. It's so unfortunate that Tahoe doesn't have better dermatology care!

Normally when I get a deep tissue massage it is extremely painful to get everything out, not this time. I also added on the peppermint scalp massage and was I heaven! My husband got the Swedish massage and said it was great. We grabbed a brochure on the way out for a possible staycation in the future! There are small lockers and robes available but we waited in the lobby and where walked to Our room for the massage where there was lots of space for our clothes and items. Water and teas are available in the lobby and they do have a sauna but we didn't use it. I look forward to trying it next time!

WARNING TO FUTURE GUESTS: New Management Did Not Honor the Spa Package We Were Sold…read more Extremely Disappointing and Humiliating Experience I rarely leave reviews like this, but our experience with Elements Spa and the lodge where it is located was so upsetting that I feel future guests should know what happened, particularly if you are purchasing a spa package that advertises access to the lodge's private beach. I booked what was advertised as a 90-minute deep-tissue couples massage with access to the lodge's private beach. Because I was traveling with my family, I specifically asked the spa front desk beforehand whether my family could join me at the beach. I was told yes. Had I been told otherwise, we simply would have made different plans. Unfortunately, my massage with "Eddy" was one of the worst spa treatments I have ever received, and I have had many professional massages and spa treatments over the years. We were brought back approximately six minutes after our appointment time. During a significant portion of my treatment, the therapist simply rested his hands on my back while taking deep breaths. The remainder consisted primarily of extremely slow, light rubbing of lotion into my skin. There was virtually nothing I would describe as deep-tissue massage. It genuinely felt as though the goal was to let the 90 minutes pass rather than provide the treatment I had paid for. I questioned if he was even a professional masseuse after the treatment, because it was the most bizarre massage I've ever received. To be fair, my spa partner had a much better experience with Danielle. He described her as "very strong" and said his massage was something he would return for. The facility itself was also disappointing. The spa felt dated and run-down, with old carpeting and dingy, tiny bathrooms, and my massage was performed in what appeared to be an old hotel room. It was nothing like the relaxing or upscale spa experience I expected based on how the package was presented online. But the treatment we received afterward is the reason I am warning other guests. When my family joined me at the beach, as we had specifically been told they could, we were suddenly informed that the new lodge management would not honor what the spa/front desk had told us. Instead of recognizing that there was clearly a communication problem between the spa, front desk, and lodge management, the situation became hostile towards us, the paying customers. The new lodge management appeared to be a Middle Easterners, and specifically told us that they weren't affiliated with the Spa in any way shape or form and did not care what they sold us. We were ultimately escorted off the property while being accused of having "lied." This happened in front of my family and other guests and was incredibly embarrassing and humiliating. There were only four other people on the private beach besides our party of six. We had just spent nearly $500 on spa services and had specifically asked permission before ever bringing our family onto the beach. What makes this even more frustrating is that I personally approached the front desk and even offered to purchase a day pass so there would be absolutely no misunderstanding. I was assured that my family and I could enjoy the beach. I actually tipped the front desk employee because I appreciated what I believed was her helpful customer service. Yet when the new owner became involved, that assurance disappeared, and somehow we became the "liars." If the spa or front desk gave us incorrect information, that was an internal communication issue. Paying guests should not be publicly accused of dishonesty because management and the spa are not on the same page. I was willing to overlook an underwhelming massage. I was willing to overlook an outdated facility. I even tipped well because I don't like making someone feel badly about their work. What I cannot overlook is being told one thing before spending nearly $500, relying on that information, and then being humiliated and treated as though we had done something dishonest. This was supposed to be a relaxing first day of our family vacation in Lake Tahoe. Instead, it became one of the most uncomfortable and humiliating hospitality experiences I have ever had. My warning to future guests: If you are booking Elements Spa because the package includes lodge or private-beach access, get the exact terms in writing before you pay. Based on our experience, what the spa/front desk tells you may not be honored by the new lodge management. I will not return, and after the hostile and unprofessional way our family was treated, I cannot recommend Elements Spa or the lodge where it is located to anyone.

Before my friend was going to receive the facial, she was pressured multiple times by the esthetician that she could upgrade to the Pumpkin Peel Facial for an extra $80, to which she agreed to. All of this should have resulted in a $400 dollar charge and a 10% tip for a $440 charge. Somehow Serenity Spa ended up charging her $564.  After explaining the overcharges, the front desk receptionist assured me there were no overcharges. Then after looking further, after intense prompting, she admitted there was a $60 overcharge - she couldn't explain how she came to this number, which was still wrong. After insisting this was the only overcharge, the receptionist refused to address the remaining $60 overcharge and hung up the phone after accusing us of lying, which was incredibly unprofessional and irritating as my friend is an incredibly accomplished and pure hearted person. I'm not at all surprised at the litany of negative reviews about Serenity Spa and I would encourage everyone to steer clear of this place and their questionable, at best, transparency and billing practices.

The day before, we hiked Mount Tallac Trail, a strenuous 10-mile round-trip hike through Desolation Wilderness with about 3,200 feet of elevation gain. We started around 10:30 a.m. and it took us about six hours to complete. Between the heat, elevation, and intensity of the hike, we were both completely exhausted, dehydrated, cramping, and definitely in need of some serious recovery. For me, hydration is especially important. I was released from the hospital only three months ago after a six-month stay , multiple surgeries and an ileostomy , and I currently receive infusions every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday back home. Since I needed an infusion that Friday while we were in Tahoe, finding this place was perfect timing. Maggie recommended the Myers Cocktail, which ended up being exactly what we needed after such a strenuous hike. She was incredibly informative, kind, professional, and gentle. I am a notoriously difficult stick, especially when dehydrated, but Maggie got my line in with absolutely no pain and made the entire experience comfortable and easy. From start to finish, we had such a great experience. I will absolutely be back whenever I'm in the area, and hopefully we'll be lucky enough to have Maggie take care of us again!
