After an exhausting late-night summoning ritual, I needed a strong drink, a bite to eat, and a spot…read moreto decompress before heading back into the void. All Souls Lounge in Salem was the perfect sanctuary. It's a small, intimate spot that fills up fast, if you don't get there early, you'll be left haunting the sidewalk waiting for a table. Luckily, they offer outdoor seating, which was great for cooling off after spending two hours surrounded by ceremonial candles. The service was remarkably fast for a packed house. The cocktails were delicious and flavorful, though if you're looking to banish your inner demons in one sip, note that they aren't the absolute strongest in town. What really stole the show, however, was the food menu: they have a massive selection of gourmet grilled cheeses and hot dogs. Speaking of which: after finishing my meal, I went home inspired to attempt another quick ritual. I was trying to summon an ancient Hot Dog Spirit to bless my midnight snack cravings, but I mangled the Latin incantation and accidentally conjured a Grilled Cheese Ghost instead. Now my apartment smells like toasted sourdough, and there is a glowing ectoplasmic slice of melted cheddar hovering over my couch. Overall, a fantastic spot to refuel whether you're a local, a tourist, or just an exhausted practitioner of the dark arts. Highly recommend!

Over the next 20 minutes (without service or even a "come to the bar to order even though you're sitting at a table") we watched as three more couples walked in, met by the bartender (who passed by us to accomplish ) brought to a table, and then served. When the second bartender came out from around the bar, we perked up, only to find them addressing yet another couple that arrived after us. We got zero drinks, we got zero acknowledgment. For a bar that says "all souls welcome", we certainly did not feel it.

First off: they have vegan options! I talked to the staff. The plant based sausage is vegan and…read moremany of the corn dog flavors are also vegan. Exceptions would be the Flaming Hot Cheetos dog and the spaghetti one. The cereal one might be non-vegan too. You can check their website's allergen list/nutrition facts to make sure. The staff is really kind here. I started off simple with the classic Kong dog and fries. My husband got the vegetable dumplings* which come deep fried by default. I wouldn't recommend the dumplings as they had no flavor. However, there was this great habanero sauce that seemed like it was made in house. We greatly enjoyed that. The corn dog (Kong dog?) was pretty good, but it was kind of missing that strong corn flavor that most corn dogs have. I'll endeavor to try the crunchy ramen one and some different sauces. I'd like to try the tteokbokki, but I'm unsure if the gochujang base contains any fish stock. It automatically comes with fish cakes. I will ask next time I go and update the review. I would definitely say this spot has the flashiest facade out of all of the dining options in the "dining pavilion". The ambiance is that of your typical mall food court. *the veg dumplings are probably just vegetarian, not vegan, but you can always ask!

She took her time to give me recommendations and explained the different variations.

I had the smash burger and added bacon jam on the flaxseed bun; strongly recommend that combination. The smash burger was perfect, the bacon jam was both bacony and jamy in a great way, with little chunks of bacon, and the bun complimented the burger well. I also had the waffle sweet potato fries, which were very good for sweet potato fries, not at all soggy like I sometimes experience. Also got their house sauce to dip the fries in and was so good did not touch the ketchup. Great place for a burger.

Despite what I have read in other reviews recently, I have to disagree about both the service and…read morethe quality of the burgers. My partner and I made a reservation for 6:30 on a Saturday night, needing to attend a concert nearby at 8:00PM. Our server, Joey M., came right to the table and was apprised of our need to leave by 7:45. A&B Burgers was packed that night, so this was a good test of service. Joey brought our drinks within 10 minutes of taking the order and then took our burger order. It took about 25 minutes to arrive, and with a leisurely meal, we were able to depart at exactly 7:45 as requested. The burgers are definitely as good as I remembered when they first opened. My partner had the Nick's BBQ burger and I had the Black and Blue burger. Both were excellent: the Carolina BBQ sauce was tart rather than sweet, and the black and blue with onion crisps and bacon had just the right amount of blue cheese flavoring. The "hand-held" burger was just right for eating, neither overstuffed nor just too thin. I had the sea salt fries (good but not distinguished) and my partner had the side salad with a vinaigrette that sadly for her was balsamic and thick, although I loved it. We passed on dessert (not enough time). We each had the 9oz Black Stallion Cabernet ($21/glass) and it was good but overpriced for the quality. We walked out feeling that we had enjoyed a good pre-theatre meal for $100 including a tip. We were not able to stay for the music, but the one song we heard was promising had we stayed. We would return with reasonable expectations.

It was a perfect combination. I wanted to watch the Patriots and have a hamburger so I stopped A&B…read moreBurger. I ordered the black and blue hamburger. It was amazing. as was my server, Amy

Since it's early October, we knew there would likely be a wait no matter where we went, but luckily we were sat right away when we arrived! The interior is pretty small, like a sub shop, but there are lots of tables, as well as some outdoor seating. Our server came over quickly, and she provided great service throughout our meal. My sister ordered a strawberry milkshake, which she's had here before and always enjoys. It looked delicious and had a nice presentation. Unfortunately, our food was pretty gross. I had the buffalo chicken mac n' cheese, and it was just inedible. I think the noodles had been overcooked and the cheese was so thick and goopy that when they mixed it all together, it became this cement-like texture that stuck to my mouth. The taste was alright, but the consistency icked me out. I ate a few bites and threw in the towel, and our server was kind enough to take it off the bill. My sister ordered a bomb burger, and she was also underwhelmed. She said it had way too much black pepper (not a complaint i've ever heard her make about a burger), and she found a hair (more like a dog hair than a human one) in her fry. We didn't say anything to our server because we didn't want her to also take this off the bill, too - we'd feel like schmucks for this tbh. We waited a while for our food, but that's certainly to be expected when dining in Salem in peak season, so no surprise there. My only other gripe was that there was a sewage smell that wafted over occasionally. They had the front door open I'm assuming to let fresh air in, but this also let a lot of flies in, so we were waving them off most of the meal. Overall, the experience left a lot to be desired, and I don't foresee us returning, even during slower times of year. However, huge thanks to our server for providing the best service she could!
