Admission ($20), merchandise, food & beverages (no alcohol) - all cash only. No ATM anywhere nearby. Plan accordingly. Events are great and include lots of kid/youth stuff early, with the pro riders coming out later in the night. Seating is a mix of hard bench bleachers, picnic tables, and some retrofitted tractor trailers with standing room - you can also bring your own chairs. Food and non-alcoholic drinks available for purchase (food is tasty but not dirt cheap). Port-a-potties for bathrooms. The competitors vary each night, but it's not uncommon to see ZERO qualified 8 second rides for the bull riders - the riders rarely stay on, which can be kinda lame. Some of the barrel racers are pretty talented though. Haven't seen them do any other rodeo events (no saddle broncs, no breakaway roping, no steer wrestling, no calf roping). If you've never been, you've got to try it at least once.

The sign comes up very quickly.. Anyway we landed just fine. The gates open at 5:00. We paid our admission ( very reasonable! ) CASH only and entered. There are bleaches to sit on and you can also bring your own chair if you feel more comfortable. They have a food area with BBQ and other items ( again CASH only) with picnic tables. There's a pay area that looked cute for children and I noticed a few stages set up around the area. We sat down and it wasn't long before they started the early shows featuring young riders. The kids were all decked out in cowboy/cowgirl duds. The ones who competed were enjoyable to watch. Later came the adult riders - barrel racing, bull riding, shooting etc. There were a few rodeo clowns. I'd never seen any of this other than on TV. So it was kind of fun to watch! At one point we looked around and the place was absolutely full! Foodwise, I'm a vegetarian. So other then fries, there wasn't much for me. I saw "rodeo plates" go by loaded with ribs and other cuts of meat.. most said they enjoyed what they had. I'd definitely return when they reopen in the Spring. already making plans!

This is a great place to learn to ride!…read more I started lessons at Reevedale with Katie a few weeks ago, after buying their Groupon deal. Groupon, as we all know, is a little bit touch and go, both for business owners and for consumers. There were a bunch of barns offering Groupons, I picked Reevedale because they offer both hunt and saddle seat. I rode Western a little as a kid, and have always been curious about other disciplines; I doubt I'm brave enough to get into eventing, which I'd always daydreamed about, but I know I'd love to ride gaited horses! I was a little nervous that the barn might be snobby, as can sometimes be the case, but I decided to let go of the nerves, check my ego at the door, and get in there and learn to ride. In the end, it's all about your expectations. Ultimately, I was looking for a good atmosphere, where my incompetence on horseback could be kindly corrected by both horse and instructor, with the eventual hope of being able to properly communicate with a horse while on it's back. What I found at Reevedale was a warm, friendly environment. The horses are happy, well-trained and well-treated, and they're kind enough to put up with me as I learn to use my weight, legs and hands to ask them to do different things. Katie doesn't yell, she speaks up and gives clear instruction when she sees you slipping out of form, something even a seasoned rider will do when they're tired, or out of shape, and something that a beginner like me is going to do in an attempt to keep my balance! She looks out for me, keeps me safe and upright, and lets me know when I should move my legs up, or back, or when it looks like I'm ready to try something new. They've got an indoor area, so this doesn't have to be a spring-time only hobby for me, which is great because I need a reason to get out and be active in the winter time! In short, this is a place that I could see myself getting some really valuable instruction, and memorable equine face time! If you're looking to get into equestrian sports, or if you'd like to find a nice place to send your kids to learn, I highly recommend Reevedale Farm!

Here are the best parts: 1) you get a real sense of community. No matter which lesson I ride in, the other riders are always friendly and encouraging and it's really easy to make friends. Newsletters go out frequently to keep everyone updated on the latest barn news and events, and if you follow the barn on Instagram you can see pictures of all the horses that you love all week! 2) great instruction. I've been riding since I was 8 and have had many instructors, and David is by far the best one I've ever had. He finds new ways to challenge me in every lesson and I always leave feeling like I learned something! Each lesson is different, incorporating different riding activities using ground rails, jumps etc. to build core skills. David is also really flexible with my crazy schedule and is really responsive to emails. 3) the barn owners and staff are the best. Everyone is really friendly and is so willing to help if you have any questions or anything. You can tell that they really care about the welfare of the horses and the upkeep of the property. Laurel is my fav, she is super friendly and always on top of everything! When I first emailed Canton to inquire about lessons, she responded to me within the hour. I was nervous about starting back up again at a new barn where I didn't know anyone but she was so friendly and positive that I felt better right away. 4) the school horses are top-notch. I've ridden at barns where it was common for the school horses to buck, rear, take off unexpectedly, etc. but the ones at Canton are extremely well-behaved and there are horses for every level of rider. 5) the property has three rings, including an indoor ring, and access to trails. All you have to do is cross the street and boom! You and your horse are in a gorgeous trail. Also, there's a driveway that loops around the entire property which is perfect for a warm up or cool down on a nice day! Also, if you're a parent and you want to watch your kid ride, there's a viewing room over the indoor arena where you can take a comfy seat and watch your child conquer the world on the back of a horse. 6) heated tack room and restroom. If you've been in the horse world for a while, you probably know how important (and hard to find!) these can be. Most barns that I've been to only have port-o-potties outside (yuck) but Canton has a HEATED indoor restroom with complete with a sink. There's even Febreze in there, because, you know. Of equal importance is the heated tack room- in the winter it's great to that the bits are always warm in the tack room so you don't have to warm them up in your hand before bridling your horse. And of course the indoor arena means you can ride in any weather! TLTR: Canton Equestrian has friendly people, well-behaved (and totally loveable) horses, and great property and facilities. Whether you're new to horses or have been riding horses all your life, I would recommend this place for you!

Laurel was super transparent with pricing and availability, which I appreciated. My only goal was to get comfortable being on horseback again, but with the help of David, I have been able to accomplish things that I NEVER expected out of myself. I have learned more in the few months he's been teaching me than I ever did in the 10 years of riding lessons as a child. He has an otherworldly intuition about horses and riders, and I honestly cannot say enough about how comfortable and confident he makes you feel in the saddle. I always leave CEC feeling accomplished and exhilarated.

Instead of receiving information about membership, I was left with the impression that visitors are an inconvenience. If this interaction reflects how potential members are treated, I cannot recommend the club. A welcoming attitude costs nothing, and unfortunately that was completely absent during my visit.

The date was August 22,2024. I woke up to beautiful sunny skies and started to get ready for an…read moreadventure that was planned less than a week prior. My dad had taken my son ziplining 2 weeks prior and after that amazing day he said, "How would Jacob feel about jumping out of an airplane?" I talked it over with Jacob and he was excited to go do anything Papa wanted to do. Unfortunately, age requirements leave him waiting 4 more years for his first jump, and I plan on taking him for his 18th bday. (If he still wants to go.) I thought to myself, Why does my dad want to do all the fun stuff with Jacob?! So I said, "Whats the matter, you don't want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane with a 40 year old?" The next message I got was, "Thursday morning, 10am, Mom and I will meet you at The Boston Skydive Center." After nervously reading through and signing all the forms online, we were good to go. When we arrived the weather was damn near perfect. Everyone who works there was so amazing. Checking in was super easy. They were extremely thorough with the instructions and made sure you felt safe and educated about skydiving every step of the way. On the walk to the airplane we did a little pre interview and went over the events that were about to take place one last time. Then, with a high five and thumbs up we were on the plane. The views while getting up to altitude were absolutely beautiful. It was such a peaceful ride. Getting ready to actually jump out of the plane was terrifying, but what are you really gonna do when you're already halfway out of the plane?? JUMP!!! It was the most insane feeling I've ever experienced. The views were even more breathtaking, and from up there, the world looked perfect. We jumped with two of the best, Boris and Ratin. Couldn't have asked for two better guys. (For multiple reasons ) The videos and still pictures they got were phenomenal and I am so impressed that they can video like that, multiple times a day, while jumping out of a plane when I could barely keep my eyes open from the wind. A core memory was made that day, not only from the jump with my dad, but also from seeing his video and the pure, whole hearted happiness that was written all over his face. Made my heart smile. Thank you for making this day so memorable for my Dad and I. It is one I will NEVER forget.
