5/17/26: so late writing this review, I was shocked to see it only had 3-1/2 stars on Yelp!. All four of us thought it was great. We were on our way to the airport after visiting a weeks in Forks & were looking for a decent place for breakfast. Rusty popped up on Google, it was right off the interstate so we popped in. Glad we did. Food: fantastic! Between us we had the shrimp salad, Belgian waffle, French toast, chicken fried steak, and a cinnamon roll. The waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside; the hashbrowns were crispy, not mushy; let's just say we all devoured the food. Service: Angel was wonderful. Very friendly, smiling the entire time, and attentive. Ambiance: cool decor in- & outside, great patio area, and plenty of parking. read more

Stopped here for lunch driving from South Snohomish & King County down to Seaside, OR for the holiday weekend. We were greeted promptly, seated quickly, and our server approached right away to ask what we'd like to drink. We had lemonades, a Reuben with tots, a club sandwich, and soup. Everything was tasty, and the portions were generous. We ended up leaving our leftover food behind since we were going to be on the road the rest of the afternoon. The entire place is wood, adorned with animal hides, heads, bumper stickers, T-shirts, hats, etc. A very rustic feeling. We would return again given the opportunity. read more

There's nothing fast about this place and they could do better. I had the barbecue bacon cheeseburger with fries. The burger was pretty good. The fries had been sitting out too long before they brought them to me. The place is small and cramped. It's hard to get around. The service was friendly enough and everybody else liked the food they had. In a place where there's not a whole lot of options, this isn't a bad one I haven't seen a Yelp hostile place before but I guess this is one of them. This was a cute stop on the way to the coast this past weekend. Very kitchy and cute inside. The service was fairly quick for a Friday at lunch time and the food was pretty good overall. The portions were huge all around. The cow pie biscuit was the perfect name and was crumbly and soft. The gravy was standard but I love that it came on the side so the biscuit wasn't soggy. We usually liked to use our ENTERTAINMENT COUPON. They are still listed in the Entertainment Book (which is all digital now) but they will not accept the coupon now. They say they don't know why they are listed in the book and blame T Mobile? So..RUSTY TRACTOR, I have reported to Entertainment that you did not accept the coupon. I am attaching the phone number that you call to remove your business from the book. If anyone was interested in where this coupon was from, you could have removed yourself ages ago if you were no longer interested in participating. I'm also attaching a screen shot of another review that mentions the Entertainment Coupon- so I am not crazy, you used to accept them, year after year. I'm pretty confused when my TOGO order got charged a "large party fee." We had 3 meals and 2 appetizers for take out. (Half of it was take out of taken out of a freezer and fried). When I asked if this was the correct bill I got looked at like I'm stupid. Don't expect people to support local if you are going to be disrespectful and charge an extra 18% for a an order that was take out. We keep trying to give this place business but they are ALWAYS very rude to customers. read more

Years ago we would go to the Rusty Tractor from time to time and enjoyed it, even recommending it. A couple of years ago we had some food and service disappointments and vowed never to go back. Recently we took a chance on a lark on a Friday evening and went back for some chicken fried steak. What a mistake. The service was rushed, noisy (shouting), forgetful and slow. The food should have been rejected, but we were hungry. We sat down and the only attention we got was to have menus and two flimsy napkins pushed across the table at us with equally flimsy forks on them. No knives or spoons. No water. After a long wait, we were able to order and asked for two cocktails along with our food order. We also asked for water. Eventually the cocktails came and one was a complete mistake, forcing us to wait again. We had to ask a second time for water. Finally the food was delivered and we had to ask a second time for dinner rolls. The vegetables were grilled, with a little char and quite good. Colorful,too. That was the high point. The mashed potatoes and country gravy were bland. The chicken fried steak was injury after insult. Old, dry, probably frozen. Needless to you we vowed again never to go back. read more

I have to honestly say I have never actuated here but we do stop by and get their onion rings to go with barbecue sauce! Any trip to the Ocean or Centralia we stop in and grab some. Last week we were just out for a drive and my hubby headed there to surprise me! The parking lot is full of dozens of old rusty tractors. I'm sure the inside is fun to see too. Trip advisor and Yelp hyped this place as the place to stop on the way to the Oregon coast. (Some of the reviews are a bit over the top-- and make me suspicious...) Anyway, Rusty Tractor did the trick for lunch on the way from Seattle to Cannon Beach. I will say that the cinnamon roll was mighty tasty. (We weren't brave enough to try the "rattlesnake eggs" listed on the menu.) It's just off of route 12 in Elma, WA. (*We did happen to see a couple of cool vintage cars in the parking lot-- later in Cannon Beach we'd see a police escort (!) lead a parade of at least 20 of them on the way to a car show in Seaside. Amazing cafe on our way to our destination. The service was fast and friendly. Although they were busy, we were sat and greeted in a timely manner. They have a bunch of cool Rusty Tractor merchandise by the counter from fanny packs to coffee mugs. I had their biscuits and gravy. Their full order is well worth it with a generous size buttery biscuit. The gravy was meaty and comforting. I mean, it wasn't unpleasant to eat, but for the price, I expected a bit more flair, e.g., freshly batter-dipped seafood instead of freezer-to-fryer, especially in a place nestled between the Puget Sound and Pacific Ocean. Service was prompt and friendly, and all the rusty old tractors around the parking lot were really cool. Indoor decor was also interesting and gave us more to talk about while we waited. Someone had been clever and put thought into the menu, which included tidbits of local history and at least one prank food item, which the server explained with a smile. A friend brought me here. I probably won't go again on my own. You can eat here and enjoy the ambiance inside or you can just park and enjoy the farm machinery outside for free. read more

Food for the soul! Passing thru Elma, WA on our way home from a long weekend and we stopped at one of our favorite little spots! Honestly I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet! I had the Hawaiian burger this time. It was so juicy and perfectly seasoned! Yumm just Yumm! My kiddo had the kids chicken tenders and fries and they were nice and thick with a thin breading! Very good! I snuck a taste of hers too! Lol! I wanted to get something different as I generally get breakfast here, which I'm sure you can see by other reviews is what they are known for! The biscuits and homemade cinnamon roll are to die for! So even if you have to take one home- do just that! The staff is so kind and never complain! They ask all the right questions to make sure you have what you want and not just what you need! They work hard and are so attentive! This is a must stop in restaurant! Just like most of the other reviews here, we too were passing through on vacation. It was a Saturday afternoon, and we were super hungry but looking for a place to still get breakfast food. We found The Rusty Tractor online and decided to give them a try. The parking lot wasn't packed with cars, and it seemed as though the morning rush was over and so we went in to meet a sign reading "Please wait to be seated". We stood there for a few minutes and noticed that we were in the opening room of a quaint little diner. There was a bar with stools, a small gift shop area and then hallways that lead to other rooms throughout the building. We could hear talking and laughter coming from the other rooms and had expected to be taken to one soon when a woman in passing told us we could sit right there. Right, there was a table immediately to our right with no place settings and no menus on it. This room was cold too, but we sat down and waited patiently. After five more minutes or so, we still hadn't been approached by any wait staff. No one greeted us, no one took our beverage order, no one brought place settings or menus or even glasses of water. My wife got up and went and found some menus and brought them back to our table and so we started to look through them to see what we would want to order. That's when the woman who had been helping the people at the bar area started to help the group of people who had come in after we did. That was enough for us. My wife and I both work in fields that require exceptional customer service, so our standards are pretty high. We decided in that moment that we did not want to support this establishment any longer and we sure weren't going to pay our hard-earned money to them for being treated like we didn't exist. Maybe they get enough business that it just doesn't matter to them but as a couple of hungry travelers, it mattered to us, and I hope it matters to those reading this because no one should subject themselves to this type of disrespect and treatment. It's a shame that I'm not writing this review right now and raving about the truly amazing food that they serve because that would suit me and The Rusty Tractor much, much better. Food was mediocre at best. Hot beef sandwich was way too salty and burger dip was one small patty on a dry bun with about a dozen fries. Asked for ketchup that never came and was never offered a second drink even though I was empty for more than 20 minutes. Won't be back. read more

Solid diner food and some pretty decent drink options. This place gives me community institution vibes, but it's also visible from the freeway. Plenty of classic diner food on the menu (you can also get fresh snake eggs...yes, from an actual local snake farmer). The biscuits are bigger than your hand and are flaky and delicious! I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy and it was HUGE. I'm honestly scared about what a full order looks like. I added two scrambled eggs and hash browns to my biscuits and gravy. Hash browns weren't as crispy as I think they should be and the scrambled eggs were a little overdone, but neither were bad tasting by any means. Stopped in for breakfast/brunch with my wife and brother in law yesterday. I had a hamburger steak breakfast with two eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast, while my wife had a burger dip with fries and my brother in law had a BLT with fries. Everything was fine, if unexceptional - really, pretty much your average small town diner fare - though I was disappointed by the hash browns, which had clearly been on the back of the grill for a while. This spot, complete with "country decor" hanging from the walls and ceiling, is clearly popular with the locals (not that there's much restaurant competition in Elma, mind you) but it's not a place I'm likely to visit again, though the service was good and the turnaround between ordering and the food arriving at our table was decent. read more

What we liked best was the genuine customer service. The gals working this morning were completely friendly and on top of things. So refreshing to get great customer service these days.
