Second or third update on this cafe...because they've really gone downhill. New ownership started with most of the old staff quitting or getting fired, not a good start. She changed hours from staying open for dinner every night (helpful in a small town), to 7-2, like several other places. I seldom eat there because I don't usually get out early. But today gave it another chance, eggs were served over medium instead of easy and the sausage was a little underdone. 2 people trying to serve a busy restaurant says to me that they intentionally understaff in spite of Sunday crowds. Not blaming the staff, but service suffered for it, to put it mildly. It's a shame when they used to be so good. read more

The greasy spoon kinda. I didn't take any photos of my food because I was enjoying the company. Food came out promptly, hot and the coffee was flowing. If you're familiar with the mule barn in NM it's similar. A must to visit. Service was outstanding and the decor was fun! read more

I don't like to say this about places but this place is horrible it's ran by tweakers. the waitress had open sores all over her face and body her eyes was as big as the sun in the sky and her jaw was twitching, I'm 7 years clean and I can honestly say it's horrible seeing this.. the food was bland and the service was rushed and weird.. also outside they had some man sitting in a car all day blasting music and smoking weed. read more

Agree with most of these reviews...don't pass this place up. Stopped here for breakfast on our way from the lake to KC. Not busy on a Sunday morning, but not sure why. Waitresses are friendly and attentive. Definitely a "greasy spoon" diner, but one of the best breakfasts in awhile. Wife had 1/4 B&G with eggs and bacon and still brought some home. I had ham steak with hash browns, eggs and toast and brought home enough ham for at least one more meal. Everything made as it should be and delicious. All for a twenty dollar bill. read more

This is the type of place you want to like - locals, small town, old school, etc. If I am being honest, the food wasn't good. The portions were a good size. But the French Toast was inedible. It was disgusting. It tasted so odd I can't even describe it. Everything else was fine (eggs, bacon, etc). They didn't have cream for coffee, only some powder. If you want to feel the local community of Warsaw, go here. But as a standalone, the food product wasn't good. Usually places like this are much, much better. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Warsaw. It isn't fancy, definitely no frills. The decor is old diner style and it's a little time worn, but that's part of its charm. The food is very tasty, diner style food, served in generous portions. We're part timers in the lake area, but this is our go-to restaurant for lunch. Love their tenderloin sandwich, burgers and BLT are great. We've always had great service and friendly staff. Yes, it's small. No, it doesn't have fancy restrooms with marble countertops. lol If what you want is a good meal and a full tummy at very reasonable prices, tho then definitely give them a try! read more

We popped in here on our exploration of Warsaw today. It is definitely a hole in the wall, but stayed busy. Special today was country fried steak. My mother and dad had it with different veggies on side, plus fruit and toast. Quite plentiful for the price of $7.99. I opted for the bacon cheese burger and fries. Not bad, but not great either. Inside decor is rustic. Place has to have been there for decades. They do serve breakfast all day, and their chicken tender salad someone at another table had ordered looked good. read more

Classic diner vibes and great food! Some friends and I stopped here for some breakfast... at noon. The great news is they serve breakfast all day! Two of us got omelettes, they were decent. We also got french toast and pancakes with blueberries. Both were amazing! The waitstaff was quick and efficient, very on top of coffee refills and super kind and accommodating. First visit here and it was really good. Others in the party had been here and knew it would be good. 7 in our party and we were there for breakfast. 4 of us had the biscuit & gravy special which included 1/4 order (1 biscuit halved or maybe 2 thin whole ones?) with gravy, an egg and either 1 sausage patty or 2 pieces of bacon. A couple others had omelets and were pleased. I understand they use to allow smoking and just want to tell the owners they made the right decision to stop that nonsense! This is a small place and there was no way to keep nonsmokers from breathing the smoke. Personally, I wouldn't have been able to walk in the door. Even a smoker in our party brought it up as he thought it was the right decision. It was crowded, not just with people, but the tables and chairs were pretty close together which made for some interesting navigating. It's a bit loud too but conversations are still manageable. Hope this little place in downtown Warsaw continues to enjoy success. read more

I'm sure this cafe meets the needs of most local residents, but if you're traveling through and looking for a nice small town diner, keep driving. Very dirty from the entrance door to the floors. The men's room is also the furnace room and the women's room is a storeroom. The food was adequate , the staff pleasant and efficient but it just isn't a place I can recommend. read more

This place is epic, on a Mark Twainesqe level. It is the classic American greasy spoon. The pork and beef burger is divine and heavenly. The mixture of beef and pork, cheese and grilled bread is utter gastronomic perfection. The decor is adorable. The waitress is a little grouchy, there is a mop behind a shower curtain in the ladies room. It just is the most perfect dive in the universe. I tried a lot of the food, and it was all amazing. Yes it is not a fancy french restaurant. If you're a hippie vegan you might wanna go somewhere else. But I had been on a train for 3 days, and it was a cold and rainy day... and hot greasy American foods, that was just what I needed. read more

The food and service is great at this small town restaurant. We had breakfast here twice during our trip. I had the Stack-em Up, a Biscuit and Gravy with hash brown and an egg heroes on top. Wife and kids tried the Hit Cakes and French Toast Specials. Everybody enjoyed their breakfast. Only issue is smoking. Luckily both times the smoking at other tables happened as we finished up. Ok this was my order: Steak medium, over hard eggs, hash browns and white toast. First had to wait a very very long time to get my meal. When it did finally come my eggs were cold and over easy, I had potato pieces instead of hash browns, toast was cool, steak was well done and lots of fat. Now I could have had them redo everything (but the toast they got them right) but since I had waited so long I just ate it. The waitress was not attentive at all my husband had to get her attention so he could get more water. One last thing was overcharged for my meal was supposed to be $9.99. Not happy experience. Stopped in and had supper. The Pig and Bull cheeseburger was awesome. Huge patty that was fresh, not frozen, with cheese, ham and 2 big pieces of bacon. My only "complaint" is it comes with Lays plain chips. If it came with fried chips or fries or something it would be 5 stars. But for $6.75 I don't wanna complain too hard :) I saw a couple people eating the hand breaded tenderloins and they were almost plate sized. Yum. But I'd definitely come back. This is a decent, no frills, small town cafe. I myself am from a small town similar to Warsaw and this cafe took me right back to my childhood. It is non smoking now contrary to previous reviews, it seemed clean and put together. Our waitress did a great job we never waited too long between refills and our food was out to us within 30 minutes of ordering and the cafe was fairly packed due to Heritage Days Festival going on. My husband had a 10oz steak with 7 shrimp and I had a country fried steak and mashed potatoes, both were decent, the steak was medium rare and not tough, mine was tasty and hot when it came out. You won't get 5 star fair here, this is a small town cafe. But we left with our bellies full, wallets not too empty, and our waitress was very nice and fast. If you're in town and want some basic fair in a friendly atmosphere give it a try. Also their breakfast menu looked amazing, but we didn't try any of that part of the menu. The only Con my husband and I have is we sat behind a local who complained the entire time we were eating about the Heritage Days drawing in "City folk" and how they all needed to just go home because it's not their town and we take up space and fill up all the booths. That one grumpy local aside it was a good dinner. And of course the grumpy guy isn't the cafes fault. read more
