I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Voss's in the Ilion marina and have been going…read morethere every summer for about 8 years. After today though, I will never go back nor recommend it to anyone I know! Don't worry- the food is still good and the area is very nice- I can't, however say the same of some of the members of the staff!! In the past, when there were only 1 or 2 young people back there behind the counter, I had received courteous, friendly and efficient service- on this particular day, however (Wednesday around 7 pm} there appeared to be at least 6 employees back there and they were carrying on more like they were at a Frat party than in a workplace! In my opinion, taking care of customers seemed to be the last thing on their minds- I had been smoking a cigarette, but when I saw the signs, I quickly put it out before I approached the counter- as I turned around after placing my order, I heard a young man yell out "enjoy your cancer!" I thought his comment was grossly inappropriate and unprofessional and I told the girl at the window I had caught that comment and that they shouldn't judge their customers! She immediately went back to the cooking area and told the cook what I had said-then they all had some kind of pow-wow and next thing I know, I'm the focus of attention! I felt awkward and uncomfortable-when all I wanted was to quietly order 2 steak sandwiches and be on my way home-sans all the DRAMA . The topper was when the guy who made the comment and I'm guessing cooked my food came to the counter personally to hand me my sandwiches. He gave me an ear to ear fake smile and told me to "enjoy my food!"-all this while several other staff members gathered to watch me walk to my car - grinning like they were in on a prank or joke that I was the brunt of!- a feeling of dread overcame me as I drove away and when I got home, my husband{ By the way, I'm a woman-using his e-mail account{} and I were afraid to eat the sandwiches and ended up throwing them both in the garbage!..You know- I read the review guidelines and edited out a lot more I wanted to say, but sometimes I wish I still lived in an era when people weren't afraid to just "Tell it like it is!" Anyways, I had to get this off my chest-ruined dinner/ crappy end to my day-thanks.

I ate at this Sorrento's about a year ago and the pizza was pretty good. So, I decided to not only…read morego back, but to also try their store in Pulaski as well to see if they are consistent. The pizza ordered in Adams was a half meatball, half hot peppers 18" pie. The crust was inconsistent with thicker, chewy parts towards the outer part, and very thin around the center, as if the dough wasn't stretched out enough. And, what was once a nice looking orange pie has become a soupy amalgam of gooey cheese and ok sauce. It was the exact same problem in Pulaski, way too much cheese that was concentrated around the center of the pie that gave the sauce zero chance of poking through. The cheese was not put on very evenly either. There was no magic between the sauce, cheese and crust. Just an average pizza by NYC standards. More like tomato fondue.

Yetty's Pizzeria in Herkimer is a solid and respectable lunch spot. The dining area is roomy and…read morecomfortable, and the pizza especially their Red, White, and Green upside down pizza is reliably tasty and satisfying. They also have gluten free pizza options. Prices are fair, and portions are generous, making it a decent value for what you get. One of the best things about Yetty's is its huge menu: besides pizza, you'll find calzones, wings, salads, paninis, subs, wraps, burgers, pasta dinners, Italian dishes, appetizers, desserts, and more. There's really something for everyone, especially if you're in the mood for Italian comfort food or just want variety. However, one consistent drawback is the slow service, if you're on a tight schedule I'd place your order ahead of time. The quality of the food usually makes up for the wait, but it's something to keep in mind.

First disappointment was that entrees come with a choice of soup or salad. It was Caesar salad or tomato soup- both of which contained dairy so I couldn't have either and was not offered another option. The salmon was excellent but 2 bites in I realized the rice was partly crunchy. Told the server and was not offered a new portion or another option. Then coffee comes and upon pouring the cream in, it immediately separated. Was at least brought another cup. Then the bill comes and NOTHING was comped. Now, any one of these experiences would have perhaps been a minor inconvenience but you add up all three and I would have minimally appreciated an $8 dessert comped on an almost $200 bill. Would probably not be back.
