food was delicious but our 4 yr old grandson didn't eat all the food from the buffet and we were charged for another buffet charge because of that. there were no signs indicating that this would happen posted anywhere in the restaurant. the big reason why I'm giving it a 1 star review is due to the recent health inspection reports. the last 3 over the year of 2025 have seen the same critical violations recurring, indicating they are not addressing the issues. here are the issues: 5A: Potentially hazardous foods are not kept at or below 45°F during cold holding, except smoked fish not kept at or below 38°F during cold holding. 2C: Cooked or prepared foods are subject to cross-contamination from raw foods. 5E: Enough refrigerated storage equipment is not present, properly designed, maintained or operated so that all potentially hazardous foods are cooled properly and stored below 45°F as required. 10A: Food (ice) contact surfaces are improperly designed, constructed, installed, located (cracks, open seams, pitted surfaces, tin cans reused, uncleanable or corroded food contact surfaces) 8D: Single service items reused, improperly stored, dispensed, not used when required 14B: Effective measures not used to control entrance (rodent-, insect-proof contruction). Super overpriced for mediocre food at best. Would not recommend at all. Charged a kid as an adult and fountain drinks would have been cheaper at a gas station. read more

Delicious and fresh food, great service, and at an excellent price! You really can't beat the quality at this price point. I almost always go with takeout instead of dine-in. They charge by the container, and not by pound, which makes this an amazing deal. This place is a gem. We arrived at 4:00. Food was hot and delicious. The waitresses were friendly. The restaurant was clean and open. We will return!

Good deal for what you can get. Service is solid and ambiance is what you would expect from a local Chinese buffet style Restaurant. Huge selection of Chinese food favorites. However, the buffet style for Chinese food is not my cup of tea, as it hampers the quality of some my favorites (Crab Rangoon and General Tso-soggy when left on buffet line). read more

We have been here quite a few times in the past, it was okay to good. The buffet this evening was unbelievable, it was filled with much more seafood, clams, lobster, shrimp, mussels, small clams, fish, crawfish etc.. other American and Asian dishes we haven't seen there before. EVERYTHING was fresh and always filled. The Employees were much more hospitable and happier than previous employees! What a wonderful experience! WE WILL BE BACK! Severely disappointed. Got here around 7:30 PM.. and the food in the buffet tasted like it had been sitting since 4:00 in the afternoon. Food was mostly tasteless. Potstickers were cold and hard. Spring Rolls were doughy and lacking any real filling. My significant other did enjoy some donut like fried dough that was rolled in sugar. I tried to fill up on fruit from the dessert table and continued to be disappointed. Can't recommend this place at all. read more

When We walked in three hours prior to closing, everything was hard as a rock, they asked us to check the buffet before we went in and I wish we did, everything was old and cold, and they overcharged us for it. Will not be returning. read more

Was busting Utica and had a itch for Chinese buffet. Always loved the East dynasty but they switch management and just wasn't the same. This place is similar to a point. The food was good for the area. I was pretty surprised at the quality. Service was awesome, our server was very nice. read more

Cashier approx 18 yr old male so gross. Overgrown hair on his head which is continually played with. Jumping around behind checkout desk like he had a neurological problem. This is our first trip to Herkimer, NY this year and we found the Borunda Buffet! A new sushi, Asian buffet that opened July 2017. Loving that this town is growing and new restaurants are opening up! The crawfish is spicy, the sushi is fresh and yummy and everything looks so good! The dessert bar is murdering my diet but, you only live once! The staff are very friendly and fast to clear your used plates. Loving it! read more

If you like cream cheese and mayo then this is the place for you. I was most entertained by the "cheese pie" , peanut chicken sushi, and the coconut shrimp that tasted like mayo. This place is mind boggling. read more

As far as an asian buffet goes during COVID this place was great!! I came here with my boyfriend from the diamond mines and we were both super hungry and the staff were so nice and told us to hold off on getting certain items so they could prepare it fresh for us. Very solid asian buffet and they provided gloves for us when getting food! read more

We've eaten at this establishment a couple of times over the past year but today was the final straw , after being slightly nauseous a few times after eating there. After our meals from the buffet I got flan for dessert and there was a big slimy green mold on the outter side of my flan. I alerted the manager, who did nothing but argue with me , she called her entire kitchen staff out to try to argue further with me in very broken English, they were disrespectful and rude and would not listen even though I showed them the moldy piece of flan. Beware!! This place was very dirty, the floors were covered in what looked like kitty litter! It was everywhere! I even saw a bunch of ants crawling all over the floor! The food looked dry and like it had been sitting there for hours. Also the amount of food that had cheese on it was extensive. I have no idea how they are not shut down by codes. read more

Wow. Just wow! Stopped by here with my always starving teenagers during a road trip. Admittedly, from experience with all-you-can-eat places, my expectations weren't too high but I was 100% wrong and completely and more than pleasantly surprised. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. We were there at a weirdish time too, like 2:00pm, and everything was hot and fresh and replenished. A lot of times you get to a lunch buffet off peak hours and the trays are almost empty with wilted selections. Not so, here. The SUSHI (included it the $11.00 price!) was tasty and fresh and plentiful. There's even a hibachi guy waiting to cook fresh ingredients that you choose for him to cook for you. Take my word, you can't go wrong eating here, especially if you've got bottomless pits in tow. The Pepper Chicken, Peanut Butter Chicken, Asian green beans, noodles and General Tso Chicken got particular raves at our table. Staff was friendly and helpful. Been here a couple times since it opened. The scenery is great. A nicely decorated room and totally renovated. They did a great job with this and it's very clean. However, the food is just not that great. Yes, you have many options Asian and nonAsian to choose from, but, you can tell they use cheap quality products. Every time I've been there and tried the chicken, any kind of chicken, it's always hard and chewy. I don't know if it's just cheap or overcooked but it's horrible. The stuffed mushrooms are good though. Not worth the hype otherwise. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner while staying in Herkimer on a road trip. We decided to try it despite some less than stellar reviews. It was priced well, but the food itself could have been better. The wonton soup had a strange, sweet taste. My boyfriend and I love wonton soup but could not finish our bowls. The selection of foods on the buffet was average. I would have liked to see spare ribs of some kind. General Tso's chicken was just ok. Chicken and broccoli wasn't too bad. The sushi bar had some decent options and the hibachi bar was tasty, but it would have been nice to have garlic to put on my food as I've had in other places. The highlight is the crab rangoons and the almond cookies, neither of which are probably made in-house. We left the restaurant full, but this was the worst meal we had on our road trip. read more

Not going to come back here again,the reason why I say this is because one of my sisters found a bug in the sweet and sour chicken. I don't get it, their food is better, but right now their place needs to be expected for insects or rodents.
