We were staying next door at the Hilton Garden Inn so we stopped in after a hockey game. We sat at the bar to avoid a wait for seating, maybe the most comfortable bar stools on the planet. Tried the Sinistor Black, a dark ale which was nice. The special was an Asiago stuffed gnocchi in a curry sauce which sounded too good to pass up. While it was unique, l wasn't impressed and would probably go more meat and potatoes next time. read more

I spent three nights unexpectedly as a patron of the Rusty Moose, and I was suspicious of the good reviews of the saloon/restaurant across the parking lot. But with this experience I am a fan. Outstanding food, service and ambiance. First time trying the Rusty Moose and it did not disappoint. The food was great! I had the Bison burger and slaw...maybe the best restaurant slaw I've had and the burger was awesome too. My son-in-law had the Elk Burger and Onion Rings and loved them. My wife and daughter had flat breads and salad and raved as well. We shared two desserts, the Chocolate Chip Cookie and Apple Crisp. Both desserts were huge and covered with ice cream and whipped cream...delicious! Our server was very attentive and warm. Atmosphere was very welcoming, warm, and nice. On a whim coming from the airport we found this super cute little restaurant. The decor is cozy cabin and 2 fireplaces to boot. Hubby had the hot roast beef sandwich and he said it was exceptional. Mashed cheesy potatoes and hearty beef sauce. I had the pulled pork sandwich with the onion rings, and it was very good. Looks like they have a full bar. Visited this week and arrived around 7pm. Waited about 30 minutes to be seated. 2 sodas, an appetizer (that was delivered halfway through the meal and after I mentioned it was forgotten), 1 surf and turf and a nice steak as entrées, and the bill was $122. For what it was, it seemed about $40 too high for me. The service was OK but not going back there in a good long while. Their price points have skyrocketed. read more

Solid first visit to Rusty Moose. I ordered the grilled trout special that originally came with rice but I requested to substitute macaroni & cheese. The mac was very good. The dish came with large stalks of asparagus which were cooked perfectly. My husband had the prime rib stroganoff and really enjoyed it. I tried a noodle with the sauce and thought it had great flavor. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I plan on returning during happy hour to try the pretzel knots and fried mozzarella. read more

We were regulars to their lounge as they have a great cocktail and appetizer menu however our last visit was upsetting. It was during the holidays and we were taking our friends there because of the happy hour specials however when we got there the lounge was full. We agreed to sit in the Dining room and asked for a lounge menu. We were told we could not order off the lounge menu if we weren't in the lounge. My husband offered to go stand in the lounge And order the items we wanted and bring them back To Our table. We were told that was not allowed. We have been long time customers of your establishment, years in fact. When it was Prospector. We came on Friday June 20th at 5:45pm. We were told it was a 45 minute wait. No worries put our name in and waited our turn. Well 45 minutes goes into a 60 minutes with several people being called ahead of us who did not have reservations and were also parties of 2. I finally head back up to the front and ask the person what's going on and she gives me some lame excuse that we are next. And to our amazement a party of 2 gets called ahead of us again. Not sure what the deal was, but needless to say to sat we had enough and left. Everyone acted like it was just the norm. Sorry it was a no go for us. We have decided to not return for some time. Dropped in to take advantage of their Jan 17-31 promotion, which is 50% off all food items. Just mention 'I'm here for the promotion." And yes indeed, it is exactly what it says it is, no restrictions. That said, our table guests had the bison meatloaf, mango street tacos, & chicken fried bison steak. All meals were very good and the service was also very good. Nothing particularly 'wow'd us, but again pretty darn good overall. This restaurant has morphed a bit from what used to be something like a Pioneer Pies to something with higher end food choices. The pricing has escalated along with that as well. We might make this a stop on an evening when looking for something a little more upscale but can't really see being a regular stop. Definitely worth a try, especially until the end of January. read more

We had a very nice meal at the Rusty Moose. Started with Moose juice. Yum yum and the gorgonzola fries. They are loaded with lots of flavors. Bison meatloaf, prime rib dip and the special rib eye steak were on our table. Everything came out quickly and was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly and checked on us regularly. The portions are large and we all agreed it was a great experience in dining. We topped it off with some desserts that were epic. The huckleberry cheesecake, Marionberry apple crisp and a special birthday surprise for our daughters birthday finished our evening perfectly. . We have been a frequent customer at Rusty Moose over the past 8 years and have had many family members join us through our time... We have had parties as large as 10 and I have used my military discount, it's never been an issue till 12-26-24.. Made a reservation for my family and in-laws which were in town. I let the waiter know I was military so he could discount before the bill.. When he brought the bill he asked me to tell him who at the table was immediate family for the discount. We have never been asked this before over many many times there.. I let him know it was my wife, kids, son in law and his parents.. Why did you ask this one time? Was it because my in-laws are black and we are white? I hate to think that was the case but I really have no other explanation... The restaurant is conviently located near airport and Hilton Garden Inn. They asked if we would like to sit in lounge area versus waiting. Definitely loved the option. Food and drink....drink was sweet and a delight. The name does match it. Lavender Bliss. Fettucine and shrimp was really good. A little pricey but overall a great dish. read more

I was surprised to find this gem in Airway Heights. I was in town for three days of hunting. It was so nice to shower and go out for a nice dinner every night after long days in the field. I went here three nights in a row because the staff was friendly and the food was really good. I had the Italian flathead pizza twice. The dough seems fresh and it was baked perfectly. The ingredients were of high quality. The bar was incomplete but adequate. The bartenders were a bit inexperienced but were open to suggestions. It is always a little disappointing when an upscale bar serves the red kiddie cherries instead of the correct Luxardos in a Manhattan. On the third night the bartender made me his off menu signature cocktail, an orange creamsicle martini. The flavors were spot on, but it should be strained before serving. I really enjoyed my visits and recommend the moose highly. read more

Bam! A solid 4 star surprise from these travelers. My daughter ordered the steak salid and I it was not not huge but it was very good. She said a came.with a lot.of.onions and maybe the only down side. I had the signature burger and it surprised the hexk out of me. The fried were also great. Very hot and don't of flavor. My husband and I would have dinner here after I would pick him up from the airport. We've had dinner at the Moose twice to be exact. I found the portions for both meals to be rather small. Joe was a fast, friendly, and accommodating server. 5 stars for him. The cod I had was heavily coated in breading and was overcooked. I ate one, took the rest home, and probably won't finish it. Joe asked my husband how he'd like his "wagyu" burger cooked. He asked for medium, it arrived well done in cold buns. Our kid's cheeseburger was a 3x3" pattie in a large (also cold) bun. The meat was so overcooked it had a skirt of charred black Fortunately, my kid isn't very picky, and my husband doesn't like to complain. The fries, drinks, and sauces were the best part of our meal. This was our second visit, and we don't plan to come back to eat, simply because the food hasn't been worth the price.
