YOU CAN SMOKE HERE! Also the food is phenomenal and I now understand why parking is always full.

Laid-back spot with a solid vibe. Stopped by Rusty Hook Bar & Grill in Kemah and had a good visit overall. The service was great from start to finish. Bar staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Definitely a sports bar atmosphere, TVs everywhere, good energy, and always a plus catching Sunday NFL action. Go Texans. The staff really adds to the experience. Super cool and on top of things without being overbearing. Food-wise: Chips & queso: decent, nothing crazy -- 3/5 stars. Burger: hit the spot, juicy and flavorful -- 4/5 stars All in all, a relaxed place to hang out, grab a bite, and watch some sports with good people taking care of you. Would come back.

I get the chicken fried chicken each time I come and it's great! Came out fast and speedy, but I admit the mac n cheese could be better. Stick with the fries and you'll have a great meal! Good pricing too and nice music!

Can't say enough good things about this place food was AWSOME service was good best crawfish around

We came deep, loud, and STARVING--and somehow Rusty Hook didn't even flinch. The team handled us like seasoned pros. Shoutout to them for keeping the food flowing and the energy warm, even though we were acting like we hadn't seen a meal in weeks Let me be real... I got the mild crawfish because me and spice? We don't always get along. But babyyyy that mild was flavor-packed and FIRE (not spicy fire--just the good kind). Juicy, garlicky, buttery, and bold. It was giving Southern seafood magic. Between the great vibes, the patient staff, and the food that made me rethink my whole spice tolerance--Rusty Hook is IT. Whether you're ordering mild or sweating through extra spicy, this place hits every time. Highly recommend. And if you hear a loud table laughing too hard? Mind your business. It might be us.

Now is this a lot is seared tuna or what!?

We stopped in on the way back from Baytown and still had a drive home to Galveston but wanted a little something. Husband had the baked potato and I had the seared Tuna. We both had water since we were driving. The tunaxwas fressking outstanding! The wasabi was not too hot, tuna seared perfectly, served with pickled onions, slaw, lettuce and soy sauce. The tuna was awesome by itself. I barely used the sow. And huge helping that this glutton scarfed! I saw lots of folks getting crawfish and that they have daily specials during the week. Good on ya, Rusty Hook. Oh I loved that our order was paid tableside! Very convenient l. The baked potato could have used more bacon but husband ate meost of it regardless. Huge space! Go check it out!

    Cold crawfish

Seasoning was good, too bad everything was cold. Half the crawfish were dead before they were cooked. Heard only good reviews about the place so I am very let down by what we had.

The Big Hook 5 lbs of crawfish, 1 lb of shrimp, 2 crab clusters, potatoes and corn. Delicious!

I forget how good this place is The crawfish was on point I goth the Big Hook and OMG it was good and spicy and hit the spot Even though they were busy our server was excellent I love the setup with your choice of high or low tables to sit at While we waited on our table we sat at the bar and had a couple of refreshing cocktails

3 lbs crawfish with corn and potatoes.

We went for crawfish. They were pretty good. Asked for spicy and didn't feel they were spicy. Overall the food was good. The service was not so good. Our waiter took our drink and food order all at the same time. Which was a red flag for me. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and we waited about 40 mins to get a table. We had to continue to waive our waiter down for drinks, missing butter and waters. Which we ordered all on the first visit to our table. They do smoke inside the building. It honestly did not bother me as a non smoker but the bay doors were all open. So I'm sure that helped a lot. My friend said the table behind us was smoking and I didn't know it. I feel the long wait to get a table is due to the slow service. If you want something fast I wouldn't suggest eating here. If you have a few hours to burn then go here.

Come and get your crawfish here. It was perfectly spiced and delicious. They have a great deal for $6.99/lb. It has bar games, pool tables and darts. The Po-Boy was also amazing! Great place to come grab crawfish, a drink and a game. Smoking friendly. The service was awesome and our waitress made sure we were well taken care of. Will definitely come back. Parking can be a little tricky if the place gets too crowded.

My family and I were in Galveston and decided we want to grab lunch before heading back to town. I…read moreremembered the name Pier 6 from two different group of friends so thought I should look it up and see where it was on the map. Luckily, it was somewhat on the way back so we decided to give it a try. Rolling through San Leon made us question if we were going to the right place. It didn't feel lively and definitely was not giving 'Coastal Chic', like how Pier 6 has been described. Upon arrival, it was a totally different vibe and 'Coastal Chic' is a fitting description for the place. We were seated right away and they offered a high chair for our little one. We started out with fresh oysters and a flight of margaritas. If you're an oyster fan, it's worth getting the oysters. Super fresh. The flight presentation was so beautiful. My husband and I had fun trying the different margaritas. The blue one was coconut flavored. It reminded me of a piña colada but with tequila. We were surprised that we liked this one. The pink one was watermelon flavored. We could taste the smokiness of the mezcal in it. This was a nice, not sweet drink. The white one was their classic take on margarita. We thought this one was too sweet for our taste buds. The orange one was mango and I think chamoy. This reminded me of the Mexican candy Lucas - sweet and tangy. All drinks were finished. LOL Now to the main dishes. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and said the fish was fresh and had a good amount of seasoning on it. The risotto and mushroom was a solid pairing with it. He cleared the dish. I had the tomato salad and clam chowder. Their tomato salad was so good. It was light and refreshing. I love that there were dill and capers too. Their clam chowder is definitely different compared to others I've had. The soup was more like a light creamy broth. The clam is served whole. Oyster crackers were also in it vs served on the side. Even though it was different, I didn't mind it and killed everything. Service was as expected for the time of day. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would make the trip to the San Leon area again. A few notes: Pier 6 does have a kids menu and there's changing table in the restroom, along with some diapers. This place is in between Kemah and Galveston. It's about 15 minutes drive from Kemah and 25-30 minutes drive from Galveston.

Well I realize I completely forgot to write a review for Pier 6 when we came to visit in November…read more2025. Pier 6 menu changes from time to time. We had ordered: * Thai salad : 1/5 nothing Thai about this salad and it was terrible. * 2 dozen raw oysters: 4/5 decent good for Nov. * seafood gumbo: 1/5 we had the gumbo here before and it was decent but this time it was not the same and tasted like burnt roux which should never be served. * burger with a gravy sauce: 1/5 The brown sauce was pour around the burger and the burger was placed in the center. The burger bun was soggy and the worst burger we ever had. It was the strangest burger because we couldn't pick it up to eat it since it was soggy from the pour of the brown sauce. This burger was $25+ which was uneatable. The beef patty was unseasoned and dry. Fast forward March 2026, after the last dining experience we almost didn't want to come back. Only reason was for the oysters. We were happy to see the items that we really enjoyed was back on the menu! *Only fried shrimp $24.99: 5/5 comes with coleslaw, stellar jalapeño hush puppies which is the best I've had!, and fries. The shrimp is fresh and good size! Nothing beats a texas gulf shrimp! *Tide to fried $28.99- 4/5 comes with fried tx gulf shrimp, fried oysters, and fried red snapper, Cole slaw, hush puppies, and fries. The fired oysters were so good!!!! Like wow and well seasoned! So fresh! The shrimp is perfect! Red snapper super disappointed because it was super fishy. I do not recommend the fried red snapper. Next time definitely get the only shrimp or only oysters combo and pass on the tide to fried which included the fried snapper. *3 dozen oysters - $14.99 per dozen: 5/5 the oysters in March a plump and juicy! So much better than Nov (early season) oysters. The oysters Unfortunately had shells from shucking the oysters so when eating them I bite into shell and thought I almost cracked a tooth. Quality of the oysters great 5/5. The shucking and handle of the oysters 1/5. No guest should eat shuck raw oysters bite on shell. That's a law suit waiting to happen and I hope this establishment does better because we love their freshness of their oysters. *Ocean water $6 happy hour : 5/5 reminds me of sonic ocean water except spiked lol *Watermelon slush $6 happy hour: 1/5 it was so strong and I felt the smokiness was too much. Love the ocean water more because it hides the alcohol and easy to drink. Service was meh. The place was packed at 5pm on a Friday. Not sure why our entrees and drinks came out before our appetizers which I felt was inappropriate. We had to flag down our waiter a few times for items. He did check in with us once after we got our food and took our first bites. Do I recommend Pier 6? Based on this recent visit I am glad I didn't write them off and yes. The food was great minus the oyster cleanliness. Definitely a favorite place for oysters and the best fried shrimp/oyster plate the area and Galveston even. Only negative is the blasting of the music. It's so loud we can not hear our conversation and will induce you a guarantee headache. It does not matter if you sit inside or outside.. it's the same noise level which is concert loud. The videos killer outside and so beautiful but I feel the blaring of music takes away from the charm of this place. If you are into rowdy loud places this is for you. Other than that, maybe distract one self by ordering happy hour drinks so it helps with the intense loud music.
