Rusty completed our circular driveway this week - and we couldn't be happier. He was the only contractor that helped us out with some random HOA requests, before we were even able to commit to working with him. He was up front with all cost considerations, including worst case scenario issues, so we knew the full best case and worst case range going in to the project (and not surprisingly, we came in somewhere in the middle, the additional costs were all associated to city requirements associated to the permit). The project timeline was great, they made incredible progress on all days where the weather cooperated, and he kept us informed of next steps every step of the way. I couldn't recommend Rusty highly enough. We talked to 4-5 contractors that were happy to do an estimate and let us figure everything else out, Rusty provided the above and beyond service that we absolutely had to have just to get the project started. I was building a pool in my backyard earlier this year (February 2021), and after the pool was put in place, I had to wait for my pool builder's concrete crew to secure the concrete and have availability to pour the concrete decking. Fast-forward to July, and there was still no movement on completing the project. Rusty and his crew then stepped in and were pouring concrete within a week of contacting him. My backyard was a fiberglass pool surrounded by a huge gravel pit before Rusty got involved - and as I write this in late October of 2021, it still may have been without Rusty's connections and expertise. Pictures of the before-and-after are attached to this review. I cannot say enough good things about Rusty and the people who work for him (Alonzo and Alfredo are unbelievable and INCREDIBLY good at what they do). They framed and poured my pool deck - and broke down the forms - all in 1 day. It looks so good! While they were finishing up on the concrete, I asked Rusty if he could recommend any good landscaper to help turn the rest of my yard into a livable space - and he said, "Yeah... ME." So, we talked over the vision I had for my backyard, and he came back a little while after the deck was finished to take measurements and sketch out a plan. When I tell you that the completed project was EXACTLY as I envisioned it in my head, I'm being 100% honest. He truly is a magician with a concrete wand. Here's the deal: We all are apprehensive about having contract work done on our home or business. It's nerve-wracking and we don't want to get ripped-off on a job - especially if it turns out we don't like it. Rusty is not the cheapest guy out there, and for good reason. He will explain every detail, be there at the site every single day, be able to change things on the fly to make sure you're totally happy, and he'll come back and check on the completed job as often as you'd like until you're comfortable or just have any questions about how things turned out. I honestly could not be happier with the work he did for me. There's not a tangible price I can put on peace of mind. Just to put a tidy little bow on this review about Rusty Crain: his wife is a literal competitive body builder; his oldest son is a veteran and served as an active-duty Marine; his other son was an undersized middle-linebacker in high school who set the school record for total tackles in a single game his Senior year. He and his entire family do not know the definition of "half-ass" or "just good enough". The attitude, dedication, and pride he puts into his work is the "fine print" in his deals - and that's WAY more important than the sticker price. I needed a foundation poured for a new home I was building in the middle of nowhere, TX. Struggling to find anyone local, I expanded my search in a 2 hour radius and found Rusty. Living 3+ hours away from my build, I was never able to meet up with Rusty in person, and that added to my anxiety about knowing not only what kind of work will he do, but also What I got was a fabulous foundation with tremendous communication throughout the process.
