I've now eaten here three times total, one dinner each in Flagler Beach and Palm Coast plus a breakfast in Palm Coast. This place just isn't very good. The service can be quite great, and I want to shout out their great employees. None of my complaints are leveraged against them. It's the food that's lacking. I just don't think there's anything about Rustic Dough Works' pizza that elevates it above the other pizzerias in town. One bite and all your cheese is probably going to be separated from the slice. I've had multiple trips to confirm this is how they cook it. The flavor is acceptable but far, far less satisfying than several competitors'. The dough and crust itself isn't the worst - the sourdough flavor is certainly different and some people might like that. But with how charred it gets on the edges, it's not for my tastes. Not to mention this place has tacky AI photos of their food. I forgot to take pictures myself, but let's just say if their dishes were appetizing in their own right, they'd just post real photos of them. If you're looking for great local pizza, you'd be far better off with Terranova's, Rocky's, or Tony's. Rustic Dough Works, while not the worst out there, doesn't have enough appeal to make it worth the steep pricing of even an exploratory visit. read more

This was my first time ordering from this location, and I decided to place an online order because of the holiday and thought it would be easier to pick up. Unfortunately, my order was incorrect in several ways. I specifically requested no cheese because I am lactose intolerant, but my food still came with cheese. I also ordered my sandwich on a bagel -- which is shown on my receipt and order confirmation -- but it was made on a roll instead. In addition, the meal was supposed to come with home fries, but they were missing. When I called the restaurant, I was told you they had run out of home fries and then the other plate we had, we did get fries and they ended up all burned. I understand that things can run out, especially on holidays, but usually customers are informed or offered a substitute. No one called to let me know beforehand or offered anything in place of the missing item. I had to call myself to let them know. I also have a picture of my receipt showing the correct order details. This was my first experience with this location, and it was disappointing. It was my husband and I anniversary (12 year) and we wanted a nice breakfast meal before we had to the beach to celebrate and unfortunately we didn't get to a good experience. read more

Even though the weather was questionable we decided to go to Rustic Dough Works. Lexy greeted us and knew what pizza we wanted to order, it was the Don Meatza (meat pie). Since you can BYOB we did, pizza and Cabernet Sauvignon win win! The pizza was absolutely delicious and service was top notch!! The service was fine. The location and facilities are fine. I really, really wanted to love this pizza. However, the burn marks in this kind of crust do not equal wood fire pizza burns with other pizza crusts. The burn marks taste like burned plastic or similar and are off putting. Very bitter and unpleasant. We drove way out of our way to try this because we love sourdough so much. However, this was simply not good. Great little pizza place by the beach. It is unique in that the pizza is wood fired and the dough is sourdough, unlike other pizza places in town. One thing that I didn't like is that they don't specify the actual pizza size anywhere--not on their website or paper menu. Each pizza is probably 12-14 inches in diameter, and was cut into four very large slices. For some, this might be considered a personal pan pizza. It was delicious, though, and I couldn't recommend it more! I got a flourless chocolate cake, which I think is the best that I have had anywhere. They have other desserts as well. We didn't try the breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The bagels looked amazing, though. :) We took our pizza to go, so can't comment on the table service. Placed an order for pickup on the slice app at 6:42 PM tonight. The app said the pizza would be ready at 7:13 PM. Keep in mind we ordered one 12" pizza, nothing crazy. We showed up a little late around 7:30 PM expecting to just grab the pizza and go. Upon arrival staff informed me it would be another 15 minutes. Long story short we ended up actually getting the pizza at 7:55 PM. Basically 40 minutes after they said it would be ready... Either they gave my pizza away to someone else or they never saw the order. The cherry on top, the staff didn't even apologize. Was a first time customer and now I'm a last time customer. We were excited to have a new pizza place to try! Always happy to support a small, locally-owned business. Our first pizza order was ok, at least it was something different from the standard NY-style pies available in Palm Coast. We were even more excited when they introduced bagels to the bakery lineup. However... these were truthfully the worst bagels we've ever had, anywhere. (And yes we have had plenty of bagels throughout the country including NY.) We ordered a variety- everything, onion, plain, and a bialy- tried two, and threw the rest away. They most closely resembled the texture and flavor of pre-frozen supermarket bagels. This makes me question the quality of their other bakery items, so I don't plan on returning. A great addition to the South side of Flagler Beach! We ate outside on the patio in the early evening on a Wednesday. The service was friendly and attentive. It took 15-20 min for the pizzas to arrive. We really liked the sourdough crust and the toppings were plentiful and fresh. My husband ate his whole pizza but their pizza size is two meals for me. They have 5 vegetarian pizza options on the menu. Their House salad sounds great, and it comes in small and large sizes. Vegans could get that and/or a pizza without cheese and have a yummy meal. The breakfast options on Saturday mornings are pretty meat heavy. It would be nice to have a vegetarian option on the menu for breakfast. Overall a great place to eat! read more

Wanted to check out the new bakery in Palm Coast. We showed up at 8:15am and decided to eat in. The scones hadn't come out of the oven yet. (Some of the bakery items, including the cinnamon buns, looked outstanding) We took a table and were greeted by the friendly waitstaff. It was interesting to find out they don't have hot tea which would have been great with the selection of sconces they make. We ordered a blueberry scone and a cinnamon raisin bagel with lox and cream cheese. The scone was still hot and had good flavor. The bagel had a minimal amount of cream cheese, but the salmon dill and capers had great flavor. The coffee was good, although I had to stir it with my knife. The ambience is average, nothing to be inspired or complain about. Overall, we thought things were good and we will certainly try it again when they've worked out more of the kinks. At one point, a very loud man was in the kitchen, castigating the employees about " I don't wanna come in here at night and have to clean up your shit, everybody is responsible to clean up, does everybody understand? You can whine to Sandy(?) if you want, but I'm the boss, does everybody understand?" We fully understand what the message was yet the people sitting in the dining area didn't really need to hear the loudmouth! Again, this is a review for the Palm Coast location, which doesn't show up on Yelp yet. read more
