We stayed two nights here while visiting family both in Dubuque and Galena. It is very peaceful, but yet not too far from area attractions. They have about 10 pull through sites that are full hook ups and we replaced on the very end which was wonderful and we had an amazing view. We did not use any of their shower or laundry facilities this time, but everything looked neat and orderly. There are mature trees, so plenty of shade and grassy areas to play. There was also a playground as well as a pretty chapel. The couple checking us in were very kind and thorough with instructions. All of the utilities worked as expected, and the site was level as well. Can highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice quiet peaceful place to camp. Total was $60/nite read more

Love Love Love this place! We were on our way to EAA Oshkosh fly in and didn't get all the way there as planned. WOW! Were we lucky to find this place through the RV Parky app! Also, Oshkosh had severe weather we dodged by finding this lovely oasis! We stayed on July 23rd and the new owner's said they only took over 18 weeks earlier. I imagine when the word gets out how friendly, super clean and beautiful this place is, it will book up quickly. Lots and lots of grass, more spacious spaces than other RV parks and mostly level left to right, but to keep the RV attached with had to use blocks as the back was much lower than the front and tow vehicle. It was an easy fix. There we lots of things for kiddos to do on the grass, some lawn games, a pool table if you have older kids, books, sitting area and a cute store with some basic necessities and a few food items and ice cream. Our pup was welcomed with a treat as well and just the sweetest nicest owner that brought it out to us sitting one the porch area of the store/office.. it was just very warm and welcoming as well as the guests.. the vibe is all good! Only downside was the rec room/ lounge seating area indoors was not air conditioned and it was VERY hot inside when it was upper 90's outside. However, that still didn't stop us from a couple games of pool.. which did cost a little money.. I think it was $.75 We will definitely stay again if we pass through the area again. You won't be disappointed and will enjoy a beautiful and peaceful setting. It's also very quiet at night! read more

This is without a doubt the nicest RV park we have ever been. The grounds are beautiful and so well kept. The staff, especially Cathy, are so helpful. We had a problem leveling our rig and they let us change sites, which made leveling much easier. If you want a beautiful, quiet, safe, country like place to stay, THIS IS IT !!!! Small, peaceful and very well run Campground. Large recreation hall, showers, excellent wi-fi and great antenna reception, too. The owners are extremely friendly and ensure your stay is enjoyable. We camped there after Labor Day so there were mostly retired adults or seasonal campers there and for us it was perfect. read more

This campsite has beautiful views, the owners are fantastic and the only thing I would say is the down fall is the playground area should be a little bit bigger, if you are planning on bringing the kids. The national river museum and aquarium is something to do,if you don't live around the area. We will definitely be coming back soon. read more

Rustic Barn is one of the nicest RV parks we have stayed at. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The views are fantastic. The rest rooms and showers are clean and really nice. They also have a game room. There is a large area to walk dogs. No off leash fenced in area though. read more

This is probably one of the NICEST campgrounds we have stayed in. VERY CLEAN! And I can't get over the ladies room! Rugs on the floor! So homey! No problem with internet. Laundry is clean and smells wonderful. Has a small church on property. Pleasant staff. Very accommodating. Views of green rolling hills and cornfields. Beautiful sunsets. On June 14, 2012 we had the opportunity to stay at the Rustic Barn campground in Kieler, WI after traveling across country.It was a terrific experience and we will visit them again.I wish we could give more than 5 stars - they deserve high marks. Prior to our trip from CA I called and spoke to the owner Pat Kramer.It was refreshing to speak to a person as some other campgrounds just had message machines.Rustic Barn is a family operated business.We had a special request.We were traveling to a reunion in our motor home and wanted to be assured we'd have a shady area for our dogs. Pat said not to worry and he would take care of our needs. When we arrived the spot was perfect.Not only was the spot exactly what we needed, there was a perfect grassy meadow to exercise our dogs. The campground is in a beautiful setting.More so, Pat's warmth and friendliness made us feel part of his family. We talked with several other campers while there.Most were return visitors - and that says it all.When customers keep coming back things are as they should be. Stopped here with my family on a road trip west. Mike and his staff were very accommodating when I checked in, showed us to our spot, and made sure we were set before taking off. The campground is beautiful, with lawn games, a cute chapel, a large open space to walk my dog, great views, clean sites, and clean bathrooms. My husband ended up having a medical emergency around 9pm. Mike quickly offered to drive him to Dubuque so I could stay with my toddler and dog, when he became aware of the situation. They got back to the campground a bit before midnight, and when we were heading out the next morning Mike made sure to check in on us and make sure we were doing okay. Everyone treated us so well, and the place is beautiful. I hope our travels take us again this way some day so that we can stay again! read more

We've been camping with a travel trailer for about 20 years and this is by far the nicest, best maintained, cleanest, most picturesque RV park we have ever visited. We were there a week and it was great. Kevin and Jennifer (owners) are great hosts and extremely personable and friendly. Compared to Rustic Barn the KOA we stopped at on the way home was a dump. I think we've been spoiled. read more

BEWARE!! I felt threatened, disrespected, and intimidated by the LOUD, rude and unAmerican management of this campground. 4th of July weekend our family gathered from all across the state to spend our American holiday together. Around 9:15 pm we assembled in our back yard (approx 100 yds from the campground) and began lighting fireworks at an inexpensive and amateur pace. At 9:45 management of campground starts screaming historically demanding we stop or they will call police. We are on our property and campground quite time isn't until 10:00pm and the townships is 11:00pm. I then walked over to camp ground to apologize for any inconvenience and let them know we had planned on being done shortly. The man wouldn't even walk out of the shadows to talk and growled at me from the shadows. I informed him it still hadn't been 10:00pm hoping he could identify the mistake he made when he voiced his concerns. He snapped and very aggressively said "it was after 10:00pm now and again threatening to call the police. I walked back to my family and explained how I felt we should stop even though by right we didn't have. Everyone was clearly upset and extremely disappointed. I am shocked and disappointed by their actions and have to let everyone know because this behavior shouldn't be tolerated in today's society. This is America, we were on our property, within our rights and trying to celebrate this great country's birth with loved ones. The campground is nice, but if you here anyone screaming at 10:00pm it's probably just the hysterical manger who shows zero respect for his neighbors. read more

Best service ever! My friend and I stayed here during a thunderstorm and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and did not make us stay out in the storm. The campground is pretty scenic and there are games to play, a TV with cable, and super clean showers. The other campground we stayed at was much more expensive (by around 50 dollars) but had dirty showers and no games or TV. read more

I was a seasonal camper here. What I had experience was very unprofessional management. From how they treat people to the way they charge. If you can drive 20 more miles your stay somewhere else would be more pleasant. read more
