Highly recommend this place for adults looking for something simple, intimate, quiet and relaxing. The place was so clean it was freaky. The staff are sooooo wonderful. My girlfriend and I both were concerned about racism or same sex discrimination...neither! Absolutely no complaints! Amazing 3 night stay for a really affordable price. This was a kinda last minute get away with the hubby. While the place had its own little charm, there were definate issues that need addressing. The romantic idea of having a double open ended fire place with on side being in the living room and the other next to the hot tub in the bathroom SOUNDS good, the fact that you can continually see into the ENTIRE bathroom is not a good idea. Free wi-fi but only for 30 minutes at a time to accommodate other guests? I was almost waiting for the dial up sounds. Really Wyndham? You can't afford hi speed wi-fi for all your guests even after all the time share sales? The smell of the water is a little eye opening, however they have an ice machine on each floor. No ice bucket is provided so plan on being creative. I enjoyed my time in Galena due to the company I kept and the things we did while here, but I would not recommend this location to others. read more

We have stayed in numerous Worldmarks around the States & have always been impressed. We loved our time here. We stayed in a 1 bedroom condo. There was a two sided wall fire place in the room that was shared by the living room. - Vaulted sealings - Beautiful view - Friendly staff - Awesome indoor pool - Cool Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom - Washer & dryer in the room, like normal I read a comment about not having pillows... Worldmark always has extra pillows and a blanket in the closet. read more

My boyfriend and I spent a Sat and Sun night here, the weekend after Thanksgiving. We wanted a little weekend getaway from Chicago, we were looking for relaxation, and I am so glad we chose to stay here, it was absolutely everything we were looking for. The bed and bedroom was perfect and relaxing. The bed was comfy, wonderful linens on it, and more pillows than we knew what to do with. There was a pull out murphy bed in the living room that we lounged on, but we slept in the bedroom. Both beds were comfy. We had the luck to get a room on the 3rd floor facing the back of the hotel - which had a fantastic view - see pictures! The room and balcony both faced the back. We had a two sided fire place that faced the bedroom and the living room. Amazing jet tub in the bathroom that was room for two adults. ;) It was clean, comfortable, quiet, the staff were absolutely wonderful and helpful. The next time we go to Galena, we will absolutely stay here again! I can not recommend enough! read more

Nice spacious condo with dormitory sized kitchen equipped with mini fridge, two-burner electric stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, mixer, + utensils. The decor is modern rustic with views of the deep woods and a valley. The double fireplace opens up to the living room and the other side to the hot tub. The front desk lady in the morning was cordial and professional but the one who took over in the afternoon was very unwelcoming. We had to leave a day early though because after the first night's sleep everyone woke up itching. Hence, the one star. This is by far the worst of all Wyndham vacations properties I've been to. read more

Smelly water! This seemed like a great place for a weekend getaway.The rooms are nice and clean, kitchen fully equipped, and jacuzzi bathtub spacious and working! However the water in the bathtub, shower, kitchen and bathroom faucet has an extremely smelly sulfurous rotten eggs odor that stays on your skin and lingers. There is no free wifi (unless you are an "owner") and there is not any cell service on the property. Our DVD players did not work and neither did the bonfire in the back. Beautiful rooms, full kitchen, great pool and tub. The water is disgusting, forget about drinking it. There is a icemaker, but you turn it on when you get there. No ice bucket to get ice from the ice machine. You have to pay for wi-fi, really, it's 2018! `The gym is reminiscent of the 80's. I forgot the bathroom is huge with a great Jacuzzi tub. Back to the Irish Cottage next time. read more

This place is a joke. I booked the Wyndham Worldmark in Galena for the first time. We frequent Galena and usually stay at eagle Ridge Resort. Eagle Ridge was full so I found the WorldMark. It looked decent and it was actually closer to my parent's house right off the territory so I thought we'd give it a try. On 11/24, I received a voicemail from Jennifer at the hotel saying that "They discovered some deficiencies to their roof and chimney and emergency work was going to take place until the middle of December and there will be contractors on site and there may be some disturbances." OK, no problem, we are only going to be at the hotel to sleep, shower and get ready. We arrived to the property, and at check in, the gal said to us that we may have "low water pressure" but you are on the third floor "So you should be fine." If there are issues you can shower in the pool." In the pool? I thought that was strange, but she said we're on the third floor and she was confident that we'd be "Fine." Also, while this was happening, an older couple in front of us was being talked to by a Sandy that worked at the hotel. She was telling them that there are problems with their well and that they are being moved to another hotel, that they had tried reaching them but it was their land line and they never received the message but that was going to be "on us". I thought, I remember a message about their roof, not their well. Hmmm. We got to the room and it was OK. My wife asked if it was clean. The carpet was worn in the entryway and the corners along the baseboard were dirty with debris. The jetted tub was stained and didn't look very clean. We weren't going to use the tub and I thought, it's a timeshare. Things are a little different. We're just there to sleep, shower and get ready. The PTAC unit at night sounded like an air compressor and woke us up through out the night. We woke up in the morning and there was NO WATER AT ALL. NO SHOWER and we couldn't even flush the toilet. We checked out a day early and I told the gal at the front desk that we cannot stay another night due to not having any water in the morning. I asked for my money back for last night's stay as well. I booked through Expedia and the gal at the desk said I will have to take it up with them. So I call expedia on Monday, tell them what happened, they apologize, put me on hold called the hotel. They get back on the phone with me, they say they spoke to Sandy at the hotel and they agreed to refund my second night. I said "My second night?" the gal at the desk said I wouldn't be charged for my second night. They said they had 'No notes" from Saturday about no water. I laughed. I asked for the hotel's phone number and called them myself. I spoke to Sandy, told her what happened. I asked for my money back. Three things are essential in a hotel, shower, bed, and cleanliness. We had no water. I didn't even tell her about the PTAC unit and cleanliness. But No Water??? she put me on hold and went to check with the General Manager, Chis Alpers. General Manager Chris, told Sandy to tell me "NO. They are not refunding my stay. They will only refund the night we didn't stay." I said, "But we had no water....." Sandy then told me to call expedia back to have them call her back to arrange the refund for the night that we didn't stay that the gal at check out said we wouldn't be charged for. Oh, and "No Notes about no water that morning...." the gal at the front desk couldn't even make coffee for the guests in the lobby. She was working off a four cup coffee pot. I assume she was using bottled water to make coffee. LOL What a joke. I should have booked one of the dive motels along route 20. We would have had a better experience. Luckily Eagle Ridge had rooms open on Saturday night. We had an AWESOME Hot shower there and GREAT Customer service. Thanks for Making it right WorldMark!! read more

I've stayed at Worldmark about 4 or 5 times. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The rooms are always clean, in order, ready on time, and just the right size and amenities for 2-6 people. It's a wonderful respite from city living. I don't use the facilities often (indoor pool, pool table, workout room, etc), but it's great to have the option when I do. And it's a very easy drive into downtown Galena. I recommend driving through the Territory instead of Hwy 20 to get to Main St. read more

Ok, if you don't golf, there is nothing to do near the resort unless you want to walk the highway. Once you see the view, the nearest restaurant is a half mile away, no stores, no shopping, no events, no places to see. NO shuttle to the nearest town of Galena which is over 6 miles away. Place itself is old, with bulky old furniture - Worldmark is old. Don't purchase! read more
