The lobby area, as well as the pool, hot tub and exercise area are great, especially the lobby. Yeah, I know, who gives a crap about the lobby, right? But this one is great. It's very Irish, and very comfy. Go hang out and have a coffee or tea and pull a book off the extensive bookshelves, settle into a plush chair, and chill out. Or stay for afternoon tea. Or in the summer, take your drink on the beautiful outdoor deck. It's a great combination of public areas to meet new friends, and private areas to have a chat. As for the rooms, I obviously can;t comment on them all, but ours was beautiful. We had ample room, plenty of entertainment, a fridge and all the amenities. Add to all that the really great restaurant (with live entertainment and a great Irish whiskey selection), and this is a wonderful place to stay. The major downside was the horrible water pressure in the shower. Is there a water shortage in northwest Illinois? This was worse than many hotels in California. Other than this issue the room was good especially at the price we paid.
