Again, Phil Bock did an amazing job repairing the rust on my truck - plz see the before and after photos that speak for themselves! This guy is a true metal artist. He has repaired my frame several times over the years in different places as the road salt has taken its toll, but always to good as new! And much cheaper than having to buy a new truck, which you can't get mini-pickups anymore. I'm at 469,000 miles now and heading toward 500k thanks to Phil! We drove all the way up from Boston for this Yahoooo. I took it somewhere else and immediately they confirmed that the left needed work, but NOT the whole panel. So, Phil wasn't totally an idiot. Just a jerk. I had previously taken it to other places, and they gave me an estimate of $1,000 for everything. So for $1,500 I was like what is this guy drinking? Now this last guy gave me an estimate of $500 for 2-feet of the rocker panel on the left, not the whole thing, plus some for the little hole on the right. So out the door about $700. This was an overall terrible experience. Lousy attitude and very poor job. They charged me for scaling and grinding rust off underneath my truck. Could hardly believe when I crawled under there after it was returned, because the rust was simply painted over rather than being ground off first as it should have been. In addition, there were many rusty spots that had not been touched. For example, they never even bothered to address or paint behind what I'm guessing were the lift arms -- there were four areas that were just raw rust where I guess the vehicle had been jacked up. Very, very expensive and just an absolutely horrible, surly attitude. Really dingy unprofessional place (-- replete with the expected ultra-harsh pro-Trump/anti-Biden signs!! ). I wouldn't recommend it in any way, and may end up getting my lawyer involved. Avoid. read more

Failed state inspection and called this place as a recommendation. Stopped by first thing in the morning for an estimate. Discussed work to be done (parts and labor), depending on parts available. Set up appointment for later that week. Was going to call with quote for part. Never called or returned calls. Showed up at scheduled appointment time. Owner did not get part and claimed appointment was not set. Then realized he was wrong when he reviewed his notes. He promised to get part and do work that day. Work was completed as promised. Car passed inspection. Miscommunication was unfortunate, but quality work done. If you use this place, be sure you have all arrangements in writing and signed off. read more

My experience with Phil the owner of Rusto-Rama in Derry New Hampshire. After making numerous phone calls. Phil answers 1 phone call back for every 10-calls you make to him. Horrible customer service. Owner is and sounds very desperate. When he does call you he likes to act like he's doing you a big favor? Phil the owner favorite quote "I run a very busy shop" it is really busy....like anyone gives a shit? Very overpriced would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

As a rust repair business, it would seem the owner would hire employees that can actually paint a car/repaired area of rust. If you have an old beater that you don't care about or if you own a vehicle that you don't take care of because you'd rather smoke crack and play call of duty in you mom's basement, then this business is for you. But If you work for a living and take pride in your belongings slash auto's, steer clear. Took vehicle in to have a tiny spot of rust taken care of which may or may not be good for now as it's covered in cheap paint and a can of clear coat complete with runs, orange peel and dirt that wasn't cleaned by the painter. This is after I took it back because the first paint job over the pin head size of rust repair area was sprayed with matte paint with no clear coat. Thought all was well after clay baring the whole car because it was covered in over spray... even the vertical portions of the doors on the opposite side of the car which tells me the shop was painting something near my car without covering it. Dirt and road grime was painted and clear coated over. Now the cheap paint or not enough paint used to cover the repaired area is changing color from the sun and is appearing orange. Wasn't going to rate until today. But with an orange spot getting darker by the day, I felt compelled to comment. read more

I'm surprised to see any positive reviews here. I brought my SAAB here over a year ago after rust made it fail inspection. I got through inspection, but I my mechanic said "whoever did this work did a pretty poor job." He invited me out to the lift to explain. I had a rust repair done at Rust O Rama and it was a BIG mistake . The owner (Phil) told me all the things he would do and that he was using high quality paint that cost $70. I was shocked when I came to pick up my vehicle and saw Phil outside, painting my vehicle with a can of spray paint. Three weeks after my repair, the rust was back. I called Phil and he assured me he would correct it. I made an appointment, showed up, and no Phil. Called Phil who had had excuses and made another appointment to fix it. Showed up and NO Phil. His employee didn't know where he was or when he would return. On one appointment that he assured me he would take care of this, I arrived to a sign on the door telling me the place would be closed that week. Called Phil, more stories, lies and another appointment. I showed up on August 9th, NO Phil! There were also two other very unhappy customers waiting for him. I spoke with his employee who put me on the phone with Phil. Phil told me his "body " man would be in that afternoon and would take care of this. I asked his employee if this was true. The employee told me it was not. The rust on my truck is now worse than when I brought it in to this place. I'm done with Phil Bock and this place, I don't trust anything they say or do. read more

This review starts back in mid June of 2020 when I asked my mechanic if he could recommend someone to fix the rocker panels on my 2008 Chevy Silverado so it would pass inspection and he gave me the number for Rustorama in Derry, which was given to him by another customer who had good luck getting their rust problem(s) fixed. I contacted the business and made arrangements to have it looked at. Rust-o-rama looked it over and told me to fix both rockers and another rust stop in a different location the bill was going to be $2250 and he wrote it up on a blank paper with his business card attached. I told him later on it's a go and I could drop it off in August to get done. He said he just needed 2 days.I called him a week before just to confirm and found myself chasing him again. He finally got back to me but claimed he didn't remember so I drove my truck to him and he was finishing up with a customer and said " I'll be right with you." Another 15 minutes went by so I went back inside and he had forgotten I was waiting for him. He re looked at my truck and I showed him the quote he wrote up for me and he questioned that with his card attached to it. He took the truck in on the dates as discussed but it turned out to be 4 days but no communication after calling him several times. It was finally ready to be picked up on Thursday night after paying the bill in full. The rockers came out great but the other spot that he fixed was just ok. I brought that to his attention and he got mad and barked at me. I told him to back off, just concerned. Roughly 60 days later that other spot he charged me $250 for started cracking so I called, texted, then drove to him and showed him the problem. Again he questioned " did I do this? , so I showed him his write up. He told me ok and he would re do it and the sooner the better. We finally had a common date to get this done and he would do it inside his garage so the job would be done right, the paint would dry better, and I could pick it up the next day. He told me when I picked it up the job was done outside where I had parked it. He didn't want this little job taking up space inside for other more important jobs. He started arguing with me and walked away. I'm glad thus nightmare is over and done. I really wished Rust-o-rama had other competition that I could have compared to but lesson learned. This guy needs an education in CS, a secretary, and a complete overhaul with his attitude. read more

I took my car there for a quote to fix a couple of rust spots. The owner Phil Bock promptly gave me a reasonable quote and showed a bunch of pictures he took before/after fixing rust on other cars. Everything looked good, and I gave him the job. When I went two days later to pick up the car, I was dismayed to find how shoddy the workmanship was. The body panels in the repaired area on both sides of the car were terribly misaligned, and the paint job didn't match the rest of the car's paint at all, not even close. And, the whole car was filthy with caked in grinding dust, etc. left from the repair. They didn't even bother to wash it. The mismatched paint can be spotted from 50 feet away. I politely asked Phil if he could try to realign the panels, and if he could do something about the paint mismatch. He immediately went into a tirade and started slamming doors in the front office and throwing stuff around, and said it would be impossible to do any better, and that I was being ANAL and UNREASONABLE. He then said I should take the car to a regular body shop if wanted a better job. Realizing that I wasn't going to win the battle with him, I just paid him and left. I went home and realigned the body panels in 15 minutes, which he could have done himself. And, I need to take the car to someone else and spend money to get the painted area repainted to better match the rest of the car. This guy's price is cheaper than other shops around, but the quality of work I received was disgusting, and Phil's behavior and attitude towards customer satisfaction was shocking. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. It's better to pay a little more and get professional service and quality work somewhere else. read more

This cash only business advertises itself as specializing in rust repair however owner quotes an $800.00 price tag on a rust repair job he admits is beyond his skill level and rust will return in future. I failed my inspection due to rust on both my rocker panels. I was told that I should bring my vehicle to Rust O Rama in Derry. I'm so glad I did. Phil did a great job on my truck at a great price. He went over and above my expectations and took pride in the work he did. I wouldn't go anywhere else in the future and would recommend them to everyone. read more

hould have listened to Justin. Called around to get estimates from a few places and Phil was the cheapest, even drove from MA to get the work done. In retrospect, wish I went with a local body shop even if it was a few dollars more as you'd break even in the end. The paint was a rattle can job. Of course you don't find this out until the end and he claims that he's a "rust repair man, not a body man." He claimed he told me this beforehand - not true. With a 4.0 GPA at BC, I think my memory works just fine especially when I'm paying a few thousand dollars for a job. I can also already see rust through an opening in one of the corners of the rocker panels too. The entire inside was supposed to be coated with POR-15. Oh and if you question him, he just yells at you even when you've been nothing but nice. All cash, no paper trail, no problem! read more

I went to get my Toyota Tundra inspected and found out that it had a rust issue on the frame under the drivers side door. I called Phil at Rust o Rama and asked him if he could fix it. His response was " That's what we do!" I asked for and estimate and he said to bring it in between 230 and 4 pm and it would take about 5 minutes. I explained that that time wasn't good for me but I could drop the truck in Derry and leave it. I asked him to get me a price and I would just leave the truck until it was done. He told me it could be over a week and I told him that was not a problem as long as we agreed on a price, I would wait for it. I arranged for a ride to Derry to drop the truck ( 35 minutes one way. ) A worker at the shop ( Kenny ) told me that he would take photos and get them to Phil. I told him I was going to leave the truck anyway but he insisted on taking photos and told me that the job was straight forward and wouldn't be a problem. I dropped the truck and waited for a call back. The next day just before they closed I called and again talked to Phil. He had no idea who i was. I reminded him and told him that my truck was at his shop and he recalled that Kenny had "sent" him photos. This replayed for 3 days with no price or recollection of who I was. i finally arranged for another ride to Derry and picked up my truck. I talked to Kenny again. He told me that Phil had told him that he gave me an estimate. I explained that I had called Phil several times and got no estimate or anything from Phil. he told me he would re-send the photos and get me an estimate. it has been a week since then and no one has ever called me back. I tried several times to call them but it goes directly to voice mail. STAY AWAY. Giant waste of my time and a week and a half I will never get back.
