I came to them as a new patient and to be honest that was my first and perhaps the last visit. First thing I asked them about insurance if they are in-network, they told me they accept insurance, but didn't tell me that they are not in network, which is kind of a lie. Second thing is their treatment plan. I know my teeth are not perfect, but I've been living with them my whole life and know what problems with them are. They created a plan for treatment with an estimate of more than $15,000, they included everything which didn't even bother me, and they didn't even ask me can I afford such money. They didn't ask me to prioritize it, it seemed like they just insisted on what they came up with. This is what's called the opposite to customer oriented business. I had a horrible experience and was extremely misled on what the final look would be like. I paid over $10K for a bridge consisting of four teeth. After going through a lot of pain, discomfort, and lots of time waiting to heal, I got my final bridge installed and my 2 front teeth now don't line up with my lip. Never mind the horrible "bedside manner" he has. The hygienists were lovely but, him, not so much. I've moved elsewhere and have been much happier for the last few years. read more

TBH I'm a bit hard to please when it comes to selecting a dentist. When I lived in Charlotte my dentist absolutely spoiled me rotten (Pearl Dentistry) with free in office whitening and state of the art equipment. I am 100% confident that this dentist office is the nicest and most professional in the RDU area. (I did hours of research) Here's Why, explained with a list of pros and cons: Pros: -YOU CAN SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT ONLINE. I scheduled a new patient appointment online, at 3:00AM with ease. Don't judge, these are the type of things I think about when I have insomnia. -The Office is both sterile & stunning. They are taking every precaution when it comes to COVID-19. This is extremely important considering the mouth is what spreads Covid. There is an air filter in every examination room that captures dental aerosols, and I think this is just awesome. It's modern and chic! You can tell that they care a great deal about their image. -The examination rooms have the latest and greatest state of the art equipment. It's obvious Dr. Russo spared no expense on tools, X-rays, camera's, and software. It brings you a sense of ease knowing you're getting the best of the best. -My dental hygienist (Courtney) was lovely. Skilled, sweet, and knowledgeable with a great bedside manner. I have a lower retainer from having braces and it's a pain to work around, but she made the whole process seem effortless and pain free. Also my teeth are shiny **Grins** CONS: -My teeth are not perfect, but I have been going to the dentist every 6 months since childhood, I use the most expensive toothbrush on the market and I floss regularly. My prior dentist has not suggested any additional dental work in 7ish years. During my last exam I was given the thumbs up and told that everything looked great. I am not questioning Dr. Russo's expertise as I am not a professional & he clearly is, but it's concerning that he is recommending TWO crowns on my back molars when there was no mention of this by prior dentist. This is a concern that other patients have shared in their reviews as well. I AM going to entertain his suggestion, but I'm not in a super hurry to schedule that appointment as I can tell it's not urgent. -I love that there's a giant tv hovering above me with NETFLIX, but you cannot hear it. Headphones would be awesome! And would also distract patients from the drilling. -The "goody bags" were a little sad. Just 1 toothpaste option, toothbrush, floss and cheap lip balm. This is definitely not a huge deal (again I'm spoiled). This place is very expensive and some customer appreciation would be really nice. Choosing this dental office is going to cost you a pretty penny, but you get what you pay for and it will be well worth the investment. I will be back! read more

Confession time: I haven't been to the dentist in the longest time. We are talking years . I had a filling break off and finally had to suck it up and go to one. Enter Russo Dentistry... GUYS THIS PLACE IS A DREAM!! First, the office. Wowzers. I felt like an A list celebrity relaxing there. Amazing coffee bar, comfortable recliner that conformed to my boy, huge TV screen above me so I could watch whatever I wanted. Second, the staff. Professional, kind, understanding, comforting. My hygenists have been so nice and made me feel so much better. They quickly and easily got me pricing information and explained it so I understood everything. They didn't mind when I had to bring my son either. The front office is accommodating and personable. It's a wonderful experience from then second you walk in. Thirdly, Dr Russo! He is so nice and didn't shame me for going so long without seeing a dentist (although he probably wanted to). He explained everything so clearly and put me to ease over some work I need to have done. Huge shout out to this amazing office who made sure I was at ease during my large procedures and also my general cleanings. It has made me feel so much better about keeping up with regular appointments because I actually want to go now! I saw Dr. Russo for a consultation regarding cosmetic dentistry-- specifically, upper veneers to make my smile brighter and wider. I had done a lot of research on cosmetic dentists in the greater Raleigh-area beforehand, and felt enthusiastic about Dr. Russo and his practice. I'm 36, successful, with good dentition, but wanted to enhance my overall smile. The initial consultation cost approximately $150, which included comprehensive x-rays, pictures of my face and smile, and a discussion with Dr. Russo regarding my smile goals-- all of which seemed perfectly reasonable and expected. I asked the assistant during the consultation what I could estimate price-wise per tooth for a crown or veneer, and I was told approximately $1200 per tooth... which also seemed very reasonable for a "high-end" job according to the research I'd done. I was told the next step would be a "smile design" for $750 which would be personalized to my mouth based on my x-rays, and teeth-mapping. I was told that with the Smile Design, I'd be able to try a full mold on at my next appointment to see exactly how my new smile would look, and that we could make adjustments in look/appearance from there before I committed to the full temporaries and veneers. I was honestly excited about the process, and especially excited that I could "try on" my new designer smile/see how it would look in my mouth before committing fully to veneers, and so I paid the $750 and signed the form prior to leaving my initial consultation appointment. At my next appointment, the assistant tried to put the mold in my mouth to "try on" my new smile, and it somehow didn't fit whatsoever. I was never told that that was even a possibility that the mold might not fit, and that I might not get to "try on" the smile that was designed for me for $750. The assistant and Dr. Russo told me that "sometimes the molds just don't fit" and instead, put temporary cement over two of my teeth in an attempt to show me what "bigger"-shaped teeth would look like. The cement had a yellowish-tint, and looking in the mirror with just two big cement teeth, my smile obviously looked lopsided, jarring and frankly, ridiculous. There was no offer to make a new mold or new design. They removed the temporary cement from my teeth, and told me that the next step was to meet with the financial consultant regarding pricing. I was told that for the "look" I wanted, the cost was going to be $18,700 for 10 new veneers. I told the consultant I'd been quoted at $1200 per tooth, and also explained that I didn't think I needed my entire upper set redone (I really just wanted a pretty white smile visible in the front). The consultant left the room, spoke with Dr. Russo, came back, and told me that Dr. Russo felt I HAD to have all ten teeth redone for the look I wanted. I was admittedly confused, disappointed, and shocked that 1) I had been promised the chance to "try on" the designed smile that I paid $750 for, which didn't happen, and that was there no amends for, and 2) that I had been anticipating paying maximum around $13,000 for a max 10 high-end veneers based on what I'd been told initially-- but then the final written quote was much much (and inexplicably) higher. I felt like it was confusing and unfair to expect me to want to commit to paying over $18k for a new smile that I had no visual assurance for. Dr. Russo and the practice lost my trust, and I'm out $900 for a Smile Design that didn't fit, and is probably collecting dust on a shelf somewhere. Ultimately, I'd just recommend being aware of what you're promised, what you're told, and exactly what you're paying for with this dentist. read more

Not very friendly, likely because this was a consult and he wasn't able to make an insurance claim. Charged $105 consult fee to talk to me for 10 minutes max and insinuate the dentist who did my Invisalign didn't do the best job. Also pushed me to do an X-ray before the consult even began which I declined which likely set the tone for our short 10 mins together. I'm sure he's a fine dentist if he's collecting your insurance claims but for cosmetic consults, I was underwhelmed. Wouldn't recommend. read more

Dr. Russo is the best Dentist I've ever visited and his office is amazing - I watched Netflix on the ceiling during my appointment.

I would not recommend trusting Dr. Russo as your family dentist. I've never had a cavity in my life and had zero signs or symptoms of it. My brother is an NYC based dentist and although he's too far away for regular cleanings, I always refer to him for a second opinion. On my first visit, Dr Russo comes in after the cleaning and immediately identified a cavity. I was a little confused...the tooth wasn't sensitive and it wasn't causing me any pain, but he still strongly recommended scheduling a second visit to get it filled. I took my X-rays with me (by the way, by law they're yours, so don't let them convince you otherwise) and emailed my brother the images. Guess what...no cavity! Needless to say, I cancelled my second appointment with Dr Russo. About a year later, I went to a different local dentist. She also didn't find this mysterious cavity Dr Russo had identified. Cleanings aren't where dentists make their money...cavities are. Keep that in mind if you choose to pay Dr Russo a visit...and get a second opinion! read more

I was very upset with my experience with Leesville Dental. I had to decided to visit them as I live off of Leesville Road and it was convenient for me. I initially went for a cleaning and consultation and then scheduled two additional appointments for fillings and a wisdom tooth extraction. I was quoted a price for all treatments and went ahead with the treatment plan. It turns out they were not in my preferred network and I was I billed an additional $300 on top of the almost $400 I already paid. My frustration is with the front office, who clearly is not checking people's insurance plans before giving them quotes. I was explained that I was given quotes based on what is usually covered by plans and not what was necessarily covered by my plan. How does that make any sense? This is has been a serious frustration and I definitely will not be getting any further treatments from them and I will not recommend them to anyone else. read more

If you are looking for a new dentist (or even if you aren't looking), I highly recommend Justin Russo Aesthetic Dentistry located on Ed Dr. in Raleigh. First, one of my daughters had issues with work done by a prior dentist and she had a HUGE phobia and was scared to even go back to the dentist. Dr. Russo made the whole experience comfortable and reassuring. She had a soft blanket, ear phones with music, a TV on the ceiling and his absolutely amazing staff to hold her hand. Not only did she make it through the multiple procedures, his work is the most beautiful Cosmetic dentistry I have ever seen. Dr. Russo also works quickly and uses the latest in high tech gadgets, X-rays have never been so easy and come up on a TV screen almost immediately! Secondly, he now sees our whole family because what we need is a dentist who we can trust to always do the right thing. We only get one set of permanent teeth and the care we give them is extremely important. The office staff was very welcoming and pleasant. My experience with Dr. Russo was lack luster to say the least. I was told I had multiple cavities and even needed a root canal. I did have root canal procedure, which was done half way and left me in more pain then before. I continue to have pain from his mediocre attempt to "relieve the pain" (in his words). I had to then be seen by another dentist and pay once again. I decided to get a second opinion about the cavities and was given a clean bill of health by the other dentist. In my experience, Dr. Russo appears to over diagnose his patients. I will never go back to him again. read more
