I questioned this charge but they assured me this wasn't something my insurance company would pay. The moment I left the office I called my insurance company which told me that they ABSOLUTELY do pay that lab copay. I've spent the last few weeks navigating the intricacies of their massive phone web - NEVER actually able to get ahold of anyone from that office directly because their inept, centralized billing department can't seem to find the time to pick up their phone. I want my money back and will NEVER use this company again

From the start, her assessment didn't feel accurate, but I hesitated to question a medical professional. At the follow-up, I raised concerns, and only then was a biopsy sent out. She told us results would take two weeks, but I later learned that biopsies typically take under a week. When we didn't hear back, we had to call--only to find out she was on vacation, and we had to wait several more days. Given the size of the practice, someone else should have followed up. After weeks of unnecessary stress, we learned the correct diagnosis--something she never mentioned--and her treatment had been entirely unnecessary. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend this practice and won't be returning. .

Dr. Eckman has NEVER done this to me. He never rushes through appointments, and he takes his time. Unlike many dermatologists, he is also TIMELY. I LOVE the fact that he is ALWAYS on time. In all the appointments I have had with him treating my new, lovely of adult acne (-_________-), he has NEVER once been late. He and his office staff are extremely kind, and always listen. They never make me feel like I'm being dramatic or extreme in my concerns with my skin. He focuses not just on treating the existing acne, but also on treating the hyperpigmentation. Better still, Dr. Eckman's practice also offers a wide range of treatments in addition to derm appointments - chemical peels, hair removal, and more. In addition to consults and injections into cystic acne cysts, I also go to them for glycolic peels and the SECOND, and I mean THE L.I.T.E.R.A.L SECOND COVID is over, will be getting my new (but faint) mustacheeeeee (I know (-_-) wonderful, right?) lasered off...because I just can't. This is def a part of getting older no one ever warned me about lol ::gentle tear:: I also love seeing how clean and hygienic they are - they wipe everything w/ alcohol as they should, and always wear gloves and masks during the visit, per COVID regulations. This sounds basic but you'd be amazed how many offices and facilities DONT do this. Anyway, Dr Eckman always works with me to figure out the best treatments, and even gives me coupons to apply to my prescriptions. Their office is close and conveniently located, and they are definitely my favorite dermatology office.

My note to the Doctor after an office visit:…read more I have cancelled my appointment with you for Oct 28, 2024. I have made an appointment with a general surgeon to have the epidermoid cyst removed. After your I&D there was no reduction in size and it is like I did not see you at all. Please send the results of the culture as soon as you get them. Sir, your bedside manner is non-existent. You lack compassion and you don't LISTEN to patient feedback. You administered 1% Xylocaine with Epinephrine. You did not wait even a minute before making an incision. The pain was severe. You minimized my complaint, telling me I was feeling "pressure" and not pain. Sir, I have had more procedures with local anesthesia than I can count. That includes oral surgery for a root extraction, bone graft and gum closure 4 weeks ago. Also Mohs S-plasty on June 18, 2024. I felt pressure but never pain. What I felt in your office was PAIN! Do not EVER dismiss a patient's feelings or feedback. I will have my other skin care needs attended to by a dermatologist in Florida when I get there. My advice to you, based on my experience and based on the comments left by other patients is to reassess what you do for a living, why you do it and if you cannot become more engaged, more empathetic and more communicative, stop practicing. Apparently you forgot why you went into medicine ... and it shows.

On three of those phone calls, someone actually picked up the phone and hung it up. In at least five of the phone calls, after waiting on hold for 3-6 minutes someone picked up the phone and transferred me to another line that stated, "There is no one here to answer your call, please try again later," with no ability to leave a message. They do not have a Patient Portal so you are unable to communicate with the doctor or nurses on-line. You are at the mercy of when they can call you back. When the nurse finally returned my daughter's call she was rude to her and told her that she should not have waited until the last minute, although we had been calling for weeks to resolve whatever the problem was. They took no time to help and we have already been through the process of drawing blood twice, yesterday they let us know that we had to begin again! I feel like a fool because I left another dermatologist to see Dr. Lowenstein, who was great when we met her. I can only assume she does not seem to know what is going on in the office.
