I've entrusted the care of my trees to Russell for quite a few years now without issue. Their teams are professional, knowledgeable and competent, even helpful at answering questions. I love watching these folks work, especially the guys who shimmy the trees with a rope...amazing! Russell recently felled a rotten Maple and pruned others, and yesterday they fertilized my four big trees. I have absolute respect & appreciation for this company & their customer service is excellent. I think their estimates are more than fair for the superb work & cleanup they do. This tree company did a perfectly good job taking down large trees. Sadly, the side of the hill is destroyed from tire tracts and trucks. Taking trucks up the hill may have been necessary, but a worthwhile company would have repaired the hill after the job of taking down the trees. Many of my neighbors said their fee was far too high. Glad to know all this for the future. I have a picture to share if I figure out how. read more

I wanted to share that Russell Tree came out and cut down 1 med size tree. The cost was very high for 1 tree did not take 30 min. then they charged another 100 for the stump then did not even clean up when they left. When we called for questions and concerns they where extremely rude. Seems they are very good at ripping off older people. read more

Whatever you do don't give these people your credit info or sign anything before they come or set up a time they showed up to my house and trimmed the tree we told aep sent a paper saying their coming out this and that and they left. My wife and I just assumed it was aep. NOPE they ended up charging my 75 yr old mother on social security drained her bank account for a quote they gave her in April for a tree that wasn't even hers. We have used Russell Tree Experts several times over the past 3-4 years. They are always on time, organized, give thorough estimates, etc... everything you want from any contractor. The are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They are pleasant to work with. Also, they truly care about the environment and they don't use harmful chemicals. They are awesome! Russell Tree Experts removed 3 dead Ash trees, trimmed 2 Pin Oak trees & took out a very large limb from a Maple that was growing out over the roof from my daughter's & son-in-law's home in Pickerington. I was there observing the job the entire time. The 3 men they sent to do the job were excellent. They arrived 5 minutes ahead of schedule, very professional and knowledgeable and worked great as a team. When they were done they cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell they had been there, except the Ash trees were gone and the others trimmed! Stump removal was done 3 days later. The entire experience from working with TJ, the arborist, with the estimate, the personnel in the office and the final job completion was a truly a pleasure. Joe Russell came highly recommended from living in the neighborhood so when I needed some tree trimming done it was a no brainier to support a local company. The tree trimming service went without issue and all of the leaves and tree debris were cleaned up no problem. The reason for my poor rating is for the tire ruts left in my yard. The crew came a day after some rainfall in the area. It wasn't much but enough to get a 10 ton truck stuck in the mud. They made several attempts to back up and back onto my driveway. I attempted to help out myself with some scrap lumber but still no luck. Several more attempts later we recruited the help of a neighboring work crew who had bigger pieces of plywood sheeting available and a bobcat to help pull the truck out of the mud. The crew was very apologetic about the damage. They were good easy going guys going about their work and their reputation in the neighborhood gave me no reason to doubt that when they said they would come back to work out/fill in the ruts and reseed everything they would do just that. A few days go by and a woman from the office called to check in on the service performed. I told her everything went fine with the tree work. The guys got stuck in the mud but promised to come back and clean up the yard. In hindsight, I should had taken her up on the offer not to pay until the yard was repaired. But I went ahead and paid the bill anyways. The first weekend after one of the guys came and filled in one or two ruts. He apologized saying he didn't think it was that bad and would come back with more dirt. A good week went by with nothing happening so I followed up with Joe Russell. He apologized said he would send them back and make sure it all gets covered up. The crew comes back but only fills in half of the ruts. I explained this to Joe saying that I realize my lawn wasn't prize winning to begin with but your guys promised to make it right. Plus my daughter and other neighborhood kids playing in the yard could get an ankle twisted stepping in one of these ruts the wrong way. I asked that he fill *everything* back in and overfill. I won't worry about the reseeding, I just wanted them filled in at this point. Joe got back to me again apologizing saying he would send a crew back ASAP. Once again the crew came back filled in a few more ruts with dirt but still neglected to fill everything back in. At this point I'm on the fence about renting a tilled and evening everything back out myself or hiring a lawn company to do the work. Either way it's a bitter pill to swallow after I had entrusted a well praised company and took their employees (And owners) word that everything would be worked out. 2 Stars. 5 for the tree service but taking away 1 star for each missed opportunity to fix the issue they promised to fix. read more

The company was very prompt with a review of the service required, which was cutting down a tree in our front yard The estimate was given quickly. After initial contact, they did not answer emails or phone call messages that were left. We were ready for work to begin but were unable to get a response. Terrible customer service. read more

The first two years the service was good. They came to our home and sprayed our crab trees. However, this year has been a disaster. I am not a tree expert but there is something wrong when you are raking leaves every day in early July. When I was finally able to contact them I was informed that the trees were only sprayed twice instead of three time. When I asked why they didn't seem to know but they were confident it was not their fault. Next year we will find a competent professional tree service an not deal with these clowns read more

Very impressed with this company--we had a huge ash tree which had died and needed to be removed. Russell got back with us quickly with an estimate and did a great job removing a behemoth of a tree. I was able to meet with a certified Arborist to discuss my concerns. Joe Russell was prompt for his appointment, provided me with a plethera of information regarding my trees and shrubs as well as several options for care.
