Taking trucks up the hill may have been necessary, but a worthwhile company would have repaired the hill after the job of taking down the trees. Many of my neighbors said their fee was far too high. While their actual tree take-down and stump grinding was done well, the removal crew arrived early morning the night after a torrential downpour. When they arrived, they should have seen the wet conditions and left immediately and called to reschedule. Instead, they put down heavy, rubber lawn "protectors" which only served to damage property. Yes, there is a clause in the contract stating they aren't responsible for lawn damage, but this was negligent damage. Something completely different. They also trespassed on my neighbor's lawn - which they didn't have the authority to do and most of the damage was to his lawn. I don't know what happened to my flowerbed edging. It looks like they dragged the tree trunk through it, completely demolishing it. On a positive note, Charleston, who did the stump grinding, was a delight. After the fiasco damage from the last crew, he carefully followed my instructions on where to drive and place the grinder. He even took extra time to remove more of the pine chunks after I asked him to do so. I did ask for and received a discount on the invoice, but the main point is the damage should not have occurred to begin with had the tree removal crew noted the wet yard conditions and rescheduled. So, if you hire this company, be sure you are home when they arrive so they don't trespass on your neighbor's property. And if conditions are not ideal for the work they are contracted to do, that you intercept them so they don't damage property as much as they did with me.

Watching this company remove the tree was one of the most professional things I've ever watched. These guys are as skilled as it gets. Knowledgeable, safe, and efficient! You seriously could've set a China cabinet beneath this tree while they cut it down, and it would've been unharmed. During the above trimming, it was determined that the tree was terminally diseased, and had to come down. This was scheduled for the following Tuesday. (Three days notice!) They did, in fact, show up as scheduled and bring down the, very large, tree, grind out the stump, and haul away the wood chips from the grinding, all in one day. After bringing down the tree, they cut a large pile of wood to fireplace lengths for me, and stacked it in my driveway. In addition, they cut two, three-foot diameter slices from the trunk to be used to make table-tops, and further, cut and moved two three-foot diameter by six-foot long trunk cylinders also to be used to make furniture. These were extremely large pieces, weighing hundreds of pounds, and were difficult and dangerous to move. They also removed all the wood chips from the stump removal. This sounds trivial, but to my surprise required a great deal of labor. As before, they meticulously cleaned the site and hauled away all debris. The first impression of this group was that they might be a fly-by- night outfit, as their truck has no company logo. Also, their price was quite expensive. However, after experiencing the quality of their work, their prompt scheduling, their willingness to cheerfully accommodate many special requests from me which required extra labor, and repeated statements that they wanted to leave our front yard meticulously cleaned up before they left (which they did), I think they may be trying to position themselves as a "boutique" tree care company catering to a nice neighborhood. That would be consistent with our experience. Expensive, but very accommodating, good to work with, and did good work.

The first plus is Crystal who handles all emails, scheduling, etc. She is extremely efficient & detail-oriented. Communicated as promised each time, accommodating & committed to client needs. In both cases they arrived with a full crew & multiple trucks. I believe this adds not only to their speed of completion, but also their safety & efficiency.
