This is a ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE LAW FIRM!! We are filing complaints to the Bar association. They lied about their expertise. We had to fire them within 10 days. They lied about there availability. Never once took our call after the took or 10k retainer. They never produced any agreement whatsoever about their service. 10/28/25 Spoke to Eric yesterday inquiring about possibly filing for SSDI or SSI. He told me to call the Social Security Administrators office and get two questions answered. I did call and got the answers which pertained to my work credits and my last date insured. The Social Security agent told me it was a major red flag that the lawyer wasn't calling himself. I get the information and call back Eric to let him know I have enough credits and the date he needed to get started in the process of filing. I told Eric that the Social Security agent said it was a red flag that Eric didn't call himself. Eric made his excuses. Eric then began asking me questions essentially about what proof I have to back up my case. I was beginning to feel like I was going to have to defend myself against my own lawyer. I told him yes I have proof in my medical records and in notes from my physical therapist. I told him if I did not have proof I wouldn't try to hire a lawyer. He became defensive and said I spoke over him. I asked him if he'd like to email his questions? He said ,"No". He explained these are the questions Social Security will ask me. I told him I am willing to fight this in court and I need someone willing to fight with me. I understand he needs proof, as my lawyer it would be his job to get the proof from my medical records. I felt like he was looking for a guaranteed win. He wanted me to hand him a well researched case with all the proof necessary to win so he could take his cut. He began telling me that some doctors don't believe my possible condition which makes me prone to joint injury is real. I'm already battling with doctors trying to get medical tests required to prove my condition. I do have proof of my permanent back and pelvic injury which has gotten worse over the last 14 years. I have a permanent handicap placard. This is the fight of my life. I have a dynamic condition and my symptoms vary day to day and hour to hour. I need a pit bull of a lawyer not a passive guy who wants to put me on trial before we even begin. I want to just only leave a bad review for this company Russell and Hill law firm I dinos with glaucoma deterioration of the Opera nerve had stage 5 of glaucoma in the left eye have stage 4 of glaucoma in the right eye I went to this law firm they said that I will get my blind benefits and I would get my SSI my full retirement what do they do they fill out the paperwork for SSDI and told me there's no such laws for the blind people they didn't know what sufferance pay was and they told me to shut up and go back to work at least I got my SSDI these people are relationship don't know about the blind laws the replies cold to get SSI is that you have to be blind to get sufferance paid for your glaucoma you have to prove that you had glaucoma as a child which I can prove that these people don't even know the laws these people put me out on the streets because my SSDI is not enough to live off of I cannot find a job any place that will hire a blind man to drive a forklift and shipping and receiving and they told me to shut up and go back to work as a forklift and a shipping and receiving clerk how does a blind man do that how does a blind man drive a car how does a blind man drive a forklift how does a blind man even see where the 18-wheeler is to load the 18-wheeler these lawyers do not do me no good no good at all they did not represent me like their ads say they are not experienced like their ads say they literally literally put me out on the streets as a blind man this law firm is not worthy enough and knowledge enough to have bar license to be a lawyer to represent disability blind people they are a crooked outfit that does not follow the laws they don't even know about the blind laws it clearly states the laws clearly State 62 or blind you get your full social security your SSA logs clearly states that if you was born with glaucoma you have the right to have half of your mother social security and half of your father's if they are still alive the law also States if they are both dead you get three quarters of their social security for rest of your life it is their fault that you was born with glaucoma deterioration of the optical nerve that you see out of your optical nerve is what gives you your sight light glaucoma means that you got a weak optical nerves and more likely before you die you will be losing your eyesight because they will be dissolving and going away these lawyers don't understand that at Russell and Hill law firm so how could they represent a disability person when they don't understand the disability laws I'm also going to write a review to the better Business bureau and the bar association to let people know that this law firm is falsely advertising and not helping to disable people and not following the disability laws or the Ada laws thank you have a great day read more

This firm couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper sack! They actually delayed the second half of my back pay by more than 10 months by asking social security to investigate why they held back so much in attorney fees. They could not just ask for their amount then let them pay me the rest! Redicules! After i did all of the work, not sure what they did to be honest. Even at the hearing with a judge, my representative sounded amateurish and embarrassing. After the expert witness found a ruling in my favor, the rep asked me for more testimony. This is by the way after my case had been passed around like a pack of smokes. I counted at least 4 different reps that were given my folder, which I was also asked numerous times about information that they already had. The just are too lazy to put any real work in and to be clear, the way social security works is deny...deny....till they get a law firm involved then...OK, we approve your claim for disability. Social securities own Dr. That I had to see....twice, recommended approval for disability, but I was denied twice, and enter this firm. It's a rigged system and these people basically get $7,200 for? This is my opinion of Russell and Hill after they filed a new claim for my adult son's disability. This was after I fought for him in Court for ten years to get his disability under or original claim. During the course of that claim he had three or four different attorneys assigned to his case. I tried to talk with them, but they knew what they were doing, none really ask me anything about him. The last one I talked to disrespected me by saying my god sarcastically under his breath, because he did not want to waste his valuable time talking to me about my son. My son suffers from MD, for which there is no treatment, degenerative disc disease, congestive heart failure which requires 10 different medications or he dies, early stage diabetes and sleep apnea. His MD causes muscle weakness which gets worse with use. It also causes pain as well, as does his back issue. He cannot hold a job due to his Residual Functional Test being limiting by restricting him to 3 or 4 breaks daily of 15 minutes every 2 hours and walking for ten minutes several times a day. The Residual Functional Test also states he would be missing work for more than 4 days per month. He has memory issues, as a side effect of his medication and also diarrhea on a consistent basis, which is also a result of medication. No business will accommodate those restrictions. This is what the Vocational Expert stated at our first hearing 11 years ago. I have the transcript to prove it. I originally thought Russell and Hill were different from other attorneys, such as the one that dropped my son and would not appeal our first claim 11 years ago because she thought we had won. After that No attorney would take the case, so I had to do it for 10 years until I missed a filing deadline because I did not understand the electronic filing system on Pacer and thought I filed the pleading when it had not done so. Since Russell and Hill do not go to Federal Court after the Appeals Council denies your claim, as was done here you must find another firm or attorney to go to Federal Court. Been there done that and it is virtually impossible. I could not find one so I doubt anyone else can either. I can not in good faith recommend this law firm. I believe that my lawyer Brandon Batchelor was neglectful of my case and worked against me with lies and trickery. My lawyer didn't do the right thing when he said it was uncircumstantial when I told him the other sides lawyer asked me many questions on the phone without indentifying herself as the oppositions lawyer. My lawyer talked to me about He did not do the  my case possibly going to court even though he knew that it would take at least $10,000 to bring my case to court. Before I was injured I could have afforded the legal system, but because I almost was killed trying to save two other peoples lives, due to the negligence of Buzz Inn Steakhouse; now I am losing everything I built up over the years. After 10 years of being a foster/adoptive parent I could finally afford my own home, now I am slowly losing it. Now my lawyer new this and so this the insurance giant Nationwide (with the help of a morally questionable corporate lawyer, Karen Berger), who decided to take advantage of the fact that they knew I would not be able to afford court, then decided to steamroll me and offered me an insult of a settlement that will not help me deal with all my disabilities due to this brutal attack. I was purposely ambushed by my own lawyer for this meeting where they planned to manipulate me into this position. My lawyer literally told me the day before the meeting about the meeting so that I would not have time to ask him questions. He did not even meet with me beforehand to make a plan. It seems the plan was already made by other my lawyer and the other lawyer. I question who my lawyer was working for. He did not investigate and compile evidence for a case to be able to go to court. Time sensitive evidence that was obviously harder to get, if not impossible as time went on. He went from telling me my case was worth at least $750,000 to trying to get me to settle for practically nothing, with no explanation as to what changed. He did not even read the settlement contract that he was forcing me to sign with threats. The contract had a paragraph that stated Medicare was not and never will be used for my care. As he dealt with all my billing, he knew this was not the case. It seems he ether didn't read the contract that he was forcing me to sign or wanted me to sign a false statement. They did not do anything with my case for over a year. They refused to inform me with updates. The only information they ever told me about the work they have done on my case was that they investigated the people I was with at the Buzz Inn Steakhouse. They refused to contact other witnesses that spoke of how scared they were. The testimony of the waitresses was very important to show liability, but they refused to speak to the waitress that said that the company wouldn't let them or the management question customers in any way. (She mention this to the lady that was threatened. She also came to me when I was being taken away in the ambulance and said "I am so sorry that this happened to you. These people were causing trouble ALL DAY"). The restaurant allowed chaos to ensue for hours as if they had no responsibility for public safety in their public establishment. I had to contact my lawyers to remind them that the statute of limitations date to sue the negligent restaurant. At this time they asked me to their offices and let me know that they wanted to drop my case, even though statute of limitations was only a few days away. As if it was set up a purposeful sabotage. My lawyers did not gather the needed evidence for a case, apparently because they never planned on it going to court. They waited until statute of limitation dates to do the least for my case by law and inform me of things so that I would not be able to have other choices. I feel I was put on the back burner by the very people I paid to represent me, so they could get a income coming in without much work. They can sit back and wait for any settlement, whether if it leaves their clients destitute due to the case mismanagement or not. I cannot afford to pay for heat in my home that I am struggling not to lose everything I have worked so hard for over the years, all because I tried to save two peoples lives in an unruly establishment. You would think that these lawyers would take the case on pro-bono since I could not afford the legal system or any sense of justice; instead I was a quick cheap buck throw away case. IF YOU HAVE TO AFFORD JUSTICE, IT IS NOT JUSTICE My lawyer competed with three other law firms to get my case. They told me that they would benefit my case the best because one of the owners of the firm lived next door to the little old lady that I saved. Filing for Social Security Disability is a daunting and demoralizing task. The rules are complex and the process is complicated. Although we began the process without representation it soon became clear that we were in over our heads and lacked the information necessary to provide the proper documentation. My social security case was completely lost due to incompetence. After I lost my disability hearing I went to my doctors office to find out and try to get more proof of how long I had been unable to work due to chronic pain and dizzy spells. When I asked the records department if I could get copies of all documents going back to 2012 when I could no longer physically work any more is when I found out that my attorney had only gone back in my records two years. Only two years!! No wonder they didn't win my case! Going back only two years was barely showing how long I had been unable work and all the tests and procedures that I had done prior to the two years. So when it came time I could appeal and possibly receive up to $60,000 the attorney dropped my case because of past due child support in the amount of $19,000. I have now since been cleared of all back owed support and no longer able to appeal my case because the attorney was worried they wouldn't get paid. I was looking at $60,000 that could have changed my life forever. Even if child support was taken it still would have been a sizable amount that they could have had a share of $40,000. I am now only receiving a bare minimum amount of $529 a month and barely surviving. If you want a law office that cares about you and your future I would certainly look somewhere else. read more

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME to read my review!!!! Nov 13, 2014 my boyfriend and I were on our way to the store. It's 1:00 pm. All of a sudden a woman blows through a stop sign causing me to t-bone her Jeep Cherokee. I was in an 05 Hyundai Tuscon. No doubt my car was a total as the entire front end was demolished!!! Thankfully, they're were witnesses and my boyfriend and I took tons of photo's. It was 33° that day. It took an hour for police to respond and another hour for a tow truck. We've been shivering cold this entire time. Of course the adrenaline was pounding through our veins. We finally got home about 5 pm. What do we do now?? By the time we got home and collected, we had already notified my insurance and done the necessaries. The pain started to present itself. My neck was getting very bad as was my boyfriend's. A very large bruise on my left leg was throbbing. That "uh oh" moment became really evident. Being that my Dad was an attorney, he was highly recommending to call an attorney NOW!!!! We called another attorney that was well known in our area. They basically blew us off. We called Russell&Hill. They had a representative at our house the next day. She was incredible!!! Although I had every possible amount of insurance imaginable, it became very clear that although I had the "best coverage," and had been with the same company for almost 20 year's, my best interest was not their concern. This wasn't going to be an easy process. The other driver was 100% at fault!!! Definitely no doubt about that!! Although we had stellar insurance and I was NOT at fault, the best thing we would ever recommend, is GET LEGAL ADVICE!!! Call Russell&Hill!!!! Within 3 day's of the accident we were both able to breathe a huge sigh of relief. Geico was the insurance of the idiot who flipped my world upside down. They were blowing up my phone. My own insurance was calling. Everyone was wanting me to settle, sign and go away. It felt so good to be able to say " we have an attorney!!!" Here's their name and number. 8 months later, I'm now facing neck surgery. I've been seeing my Dr / Chiropractor/ Physical therapy almost this entire time. I had surgery in July. Fortunately, Russell&Hill had settled my boyfriend's claim in a very timely and very fair settlement. Lord knows my own insurance and Geico wanted to sweep him under the rug asap!!! He wasn't hurt nearly as bad as what happened to me. The amount Russell&Hill got for him was triple the amount Geico was offering. INCREDIBLE!!! How can this system be so broken? 1 year later. This is not a fast process!!! Without going into boring details, I live on a very fixed income. I ended up having to purchase an 04 Ford Explorer. Runs like a champ, but definitely a huge step backwards from my prior vehicle. Although my case was what I thought a "slam dunk," I quickly learned that there is no such thing. I would hear from Matt on some of the bigger issues. Matt has a great way of explaining things without leaving your head spinning. I'd never been in an accident in my life. This entire process was totally unknown ground for us. Matt and Jessie always made sure I was informed about every step during this time. I kind of made it a regular thing to check in with Jessie. Yes, I probably might have been a pest at times? Although Jessie says I haven't. It's not because they were lacking in communication. It's because I've never been through this and didn't realize how difficult the other insurance company was going to try and make it. But Matt said to me " this isn't going to be a fast process.
