We used them last year to rent a trumpet. No problems. Even after my son dropped it. Came to his school and picked it up. Great service.

WARNING. Lundsfords will gouge you if they have the chance…read more My wife rented a flute for my step daughter. It went missing. We moved across the country a couple of times. Stuff was in Storage. When I moved back to Knoxville, I found the flute. IMMEDIATELY returned it. In doing so, they found me. And are now COLLECTING thousands. Heartless. My wife offered a reduced payment plan to their collection agency (FAST). FAST said that they would present it to Lundsfords and let us know of any repsonse/counter offer.... there was none. I will copy some correspondence below that shows my attempt to be reasonable with them for the returned flute (in perfect condition). Dear Lundsfords Music, I write today to BEGIN to express my dissatisfaction with the stance that you are taking regarding a instrument rental contract that my wife signed for my step daughter NAME Deleted. As I explained to your staff on the phone last month, it is not I who signed that contract in fact I have never seen it. And yet you pursue action against me. My entire role in this has been to find your long lost instrument in a box, just out of long term storage, (as we've move across the country twice in the last few years). And, then, seeing your name on the box, immediately returned it to you. My family does not have the resources to cough up thousands for this. Sure, you can say that my wife signed it...tough luck...but what kind of partner does that make you in our community? I would suggest that if others knew that you take such a hard ball approach in circumstances such as this, they would be reluctant to begin having their school age children play musical instruments. Kids lose stuff. Kids break stuff. As a succesful business , I am sure that you include that in your margin, that you are insured etc... What has really happened here? The instrument went missing in our moves, communication failed due to forwarded mail after the 6 month that the yellow stickers work; an overextended (and handicapped by the way) mom who runs a home, a job, takes kids to hockey, football, band, school, church, and oh...by the way criss-crosses the country twice moving an entire household to the west coast and back in just a few years, She lost track....But you got it back! I am really surprised that a business that must be family oriented to be successful, would take such a stance. I would truly appreciate a prompt reply, as your representatives are threatening me with impending court action.

After my experience here, I want to open a franchise of my own one day soon! I am not exactly reflective of a typical student either - I'm in my mid 30s, where this school is clearly aimed at much younger students. Please don't be fooled though, it's not just for kids! If you've always wanted to learn an instrument, this is the place! If you're competent, but want to get better, guess what? They have you COVERED, my brother/sister of melting faces with godly rock. Let me tell you a little story, if you're entranced enough to absorb my words. When I started my tutelage at the Knoxville School of Rock, I was already fairly experienced - as I had been playing guitar, and playing it relatively well for 16 years, give or take a year. I have jammed with dozens of bands, recorded albums, played shows, and even zealously followed true masters of the instrument(guitar) like Buckethead, Richie Blackmore, Zakk Wylde, Joe Satriani, Steve Howe, and Yngwie Malmsteen. However, after all of my skill and experience, I managed to hit a wall. I was in a stylistic/creative and musical rut that I hadn't been able to break out of for years. Within a week or two, I was out of the rut, and I developed better abilities far faster than I had on my own while I was a student. That said, if you're into Nicki Minaj, or something similar, you'll be living your best life. Or whatever they say. If you dig Rush, Priest, and the Scorpions, you'll be living after midnight! Blues or jazz more your scene? You're all set. School of Rock paired me up with not one, but two highly competent teachers of a PERFECT skill level after talking with me on the phone for about ten minutes, if that. There is an unbelievable amount of skill and care taken in student placement, no matter your experience. As an aside for the parents who may be reading, the middle-school aged kids that had their own organized band practice sounded better than about 95% of the semi-professional bands that I have played in, so it's clear that the program works. Bottom line, if you're starting out, have kids, or have played live for years but want to get better, this is a company that cares, and they're worth the investment! Speaking of investment, the first lesson is free, so you know it's good stuff! :)

They also offer lessons with a variety of instruments, and have a music studio right next door. The main reason I go to the Trade Center is for repairs, or to buy guitar gear. They have a good selection, and will treat you right. This is the only place in Morristown I would trust with my instrument repairs, period. The guys behind the counter know what they're doing, and they'll set you up right. Don't forget to go downstairs to check out where the majority of the guitars/banjos/drums/basses/amps are held! There's a staircase directly to the left of one of the glass showcases that will lead you down there. While they mostly carry Fender amplifiers and products, they occasionally have other brands they've got off trades or people selling. The majority of the time they're more than happy to order anything you want if they don't have it. They also host music events (Pickin' on the Porch, etc.), and can direct you to most any local event of the musical variety. The Trade Center is a nice, friendly place to do business. There's typically at least one dog or a cat walking about the store, seeking pets, and I've never ran into a rude worker there in all my life. For music (and more) in Morristown, the Trade Center is the place to go.

I am just starting to learn about playing and Wyatt the luthier was so nice and patient with me today. He answered all my questions and showed me all kinds of different options. They have everything from rentals to high end stuff. They even make custom made violins. He showed me the wood blocks and how they book match the back of the violin or do a one piece back. It was a lot of fun to see everything and I learned a lot. There wasn't a big push to buy (although I did buy some things before I left). The prices are reasonable and the quality and selection was better than any place around. They have a selection of strings, cases and bows, as well as other books and maintenance items. They have multiple luthiers for repairs, too. If you play, go check out the shop. It's downtown near the Tennessee Theater. Great atmosphere and great customer service. Thank you, Wyatt! I will be back again.

We went in to look at upright basses for a son who had outgrown his rental and left with not just a beautiful bass and upgraded case at a reasonable price but with confidence in the knowledge and expertise of the KFV staff. The fact that they offer a buy-back program when he is ready for the next step up helped us feel secure in making such a big purchase. Knoxville Fine Violins has earned our trust and our loyalty with just one visit.
