I contacted Gage about designing and constructing stairs to our second floor and creating a rec…read moreroom, half bath and storage room. Due to the demolition required to build the stairs, we asked if they could begin that process when we left for an 8 day vacation in January. He agreed and after meetings to tighten up the design and engage his plumber we trusted our home to Gage and his team and left. Before we left he told us he not only planned on building the stairs but basically completing the entire job! While we were gone we got consistent updates, pictures and videos of the progress. When we got back the job was 99% complete. He gave us time to figure out if there were any adjustments to make and took care of our requests. They do good work on an aggressive schedule. We highly recommend.

We agreed on a realistic budget, and Gage scheduled the work around our availability. His team took great care during the repair, shoring up structures and making improvements to the deck's structural integrity, all within the agreed-to budget and timeline. We are happy with the repaired deck; it's much more solid and secure. We highly recommend Gage and KCM and look forward to future projects with them.

I TRUSTED Jon Trudo Creative Coast - IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE. I…read morelike to think that I should be able to take a local business person at their word. Jon Trudo proved me wrong. He comes across as genuine and sincere, but in my experience, that is not the case. One year after a major renovation, we're still waiting for Trudo to repair the things he damaged and fix areas of shoddy workmanship. In some instances, we have had to hire others to do work he was supposed to do. As he watched me write him the last big check , he promised he would make everything right. "No problem," he said. I trusted him because he had been good to work with - up until that point. Since then, I have had to chase after him, and plead with him, to get ANYTHING done. After 10 months of my complaining, he finally sent a painter to fix the dreadful interior paint job. The painter spent more than 5 days here. There's a 20-foot gouge in the hardwood kitchen floor from where they moved the refrigerator still waiting to be fixed. We wanted low maintenance, so we planned to go with vinyl or Hardie Board on the exterior. But, Trudo talked us into a wood composite product, that he claimed was better and assured us that we wouldn't have to paint it "for years." Unfortunately, his guy did a horribly messy job of caulking and Trudo told us the only way to fix the problem was to paint the entire house. He would split the cost and our share would be $9,000! I told him that it was his shoddy caulking job that caused the problem, so it was his responsibility to make it right. Suddenly the house no longer needed to be painted. He tried to cover it up by just painting over the caulking. Unfortunately, he used glossy paint - our house is a flat finish. It looks like crap. Essentially, there was no one looking out for overall quality control during the build. An HVAC unit was placed just inches inside a utility closet severely limiting access to the 4'x3' storage space behind it. We have interior hardwood stairs that have different finishes and lots of "dark spots" where a dark filler was used to fill nail holes - in our light oak stairs. I could go on, but I won't. It pains me to have to write a review like this, because he was good to work with for most of the project. He know his craft and he did a lot of things right. BUT HE HAS NEVER FULLY COMPLETED THE JOB OR FIXED THINGS HE DAMAGED. He knows better - and that's the most disturbing part.

We really wanted to work with Creative Coast Construction on a renovation project in 2023 because…read morethey were the original builder of our Kennebunkport home and, as such, they understood all its design idiosyncrasies. We spoke to the owner several times over many months about our remodeling ideas and he came on-site twice to walk through the plans with us room by room. As we went through each aspect of the job, the owner kept responding with "no problem, should be easy to do" and committed on the spot to take care of some pacing electrical and gas line tasks for us while we were out of town for a family wedding. After trying to reach the owner countless times over the ensuing weeks (countless), through phone calls, emails, and text messages, with absolutely zero response, we had no choice but to start the process over again of researching and interviewing other local general contractors for our job at a time when the work should already have begun. We found the owners behavior inexplicable, disingenuous, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. At a minimum, as a professional local businessman, he should have reached back out to say he either couldn't or didn't want to take on our project. A simple call or text response was all that was needed. But he completely ghosted us. We lost precious time on our project timeline as a result and everything moved to the right by 2 months! Based upon our experience with Creative Coast, we would not recommend them to anyone. We ultimately selected Nautilus Construction and they brought the level of honesty, integrity and reliability to our home renovations we expected from Creative Coast.
