Over the past ten years, I've hired many contractors for various home projects. This is the first company that has left me looking for additional projects simply because I would hire them again. When it's time to replace my roof, I won't be shopping around. Every time I pull into my driveway, I'm reminded how much they transformed my home. I deserved this. Communication was excellent from start to finish. I worked with Tom Bibeau initially. The quotation and scope of work was professional, clear, and thorough. They contacted me well in advance to schedule the project, kept me informed about the delivery of the dumpster and materials, and consistently let me know what to expect throughout the installation. One of the biggest lessons I learned during this entire process is that the installation crew matters more than the product itself. Tall Pine's crew, led by Dan, was exceptional. There were typically two to five installers on site each day. They were experienced, professional, precise, and respectful of my home. They worked as a coordinated team, cleaned up thoroughly each evening, and even made sure my dog gates were closed before leaving each day (a problem I had with a previous contractor). It genuinely felt like they treated my home as if it were their own. The foreman was organized, communicative, and highly consultative throughout the project. Whenever they uncovered something unexpected, he explained the issue, discussed the options, and walked me through how they planned to correct it along with any associated costs. One example stood out. After removing the old siding, they discovered that an enclosed porch addition had been built using pressure-treated lumber where aluminum trim would be installed. Because pressure-treated wood can react with aluminum over time, they proactively replaced the material with a more appropriate product at no additional cost. I never would have known the difference, but they chose to do it correctly rather than simply covering it up. It demonstrated their experience and attention to detail as well as a commitment to quality. They consulted me on small finishing details like the color of the exterior outlets, dryer vent, and utility fixtures. I didn't realize I'd care about such things until I saw the finished result. The crew arrived on time every morning and worked steadily throughout the day, sometimes even in less-than-ideal weather when conditions allowed. Watching the project unfold gave me a new appreciation for how much preparation goes into a quality siding installation. Removing the old siding, repairing areas as needed, installing house wrap, preparing trim, and carefully finishing every detail required far more work than I had imagined. My installation took approximately two weeks. I have a larger home, the original siding had a significant number of nails to remove, and several days of heavy rain delayed progress. Throughout the project, I was visited twice by the project manager and twice by the owner. They wanted to make sure I was happy with the work, answer any questions, and address any concerns before they became problems. My questions were minor, but each one was treated seriously and resolved promptly. That level of involvement gave me confidence that if a significant issue had come up, it would have been handled just as professionally. At the time of writing, the siding installation is complete. The only remaining items are a few pieces of specialty window trim that were backordered and the gutter installation, which will be completed by a separate crew. Looking back on the entire process, I made the right decision. The product is excellent, but more importantly, I have complete confidence in the people who installed it. Despite being the most expensive option, we chose Refined Roofing after relying on other customer reviews. A huge mistake! In short, do not hire Refined Roofing because of their lack of site management, their lack of professionalism, and their deceitful behavior. We live in a neighborhood where houses are close to one another. We were concerned about the impact of our project on our neighbors and made this clear to Refined Roofing at the start. We were promised careful site management from a site supervisor, with a specific promise to tarp the area, including the neighbor's yard, to capture all debris. NO supervisor was on site during the actual execution of the project. As the photo shows, the area was INADEQUATELY tarped, debris was carelessly spewed all over our property and our neighbor's. When supervisors finally visited the site, they promised to repair the neighbor's yard. Once I paid my bill, they refused to make good on their promise. Additionally, the actual workmanship was sloppy. Among other things, they knowingly applied broken shingles to the new roof and did not apply a promised second coat of rubber in one area. Furthermore, the owners of Refined Home Services, Gino and Karen, were rude, dismissive, and dishonest when confronted with the facts. They denied that there was any debris mismanagement or damage, despite the photo proof included here. While the company replaced the broken shingles and finally cleaned up the initial mess, they refused to take responsibility for the damage they caused and left us in the uncomfortable situation they created with our neighbors. In short, Refined Roofing lacks quality of service, integrity, and decency. This company is not worth hiring ... ever.

After having hired him for extensive work, I believe that Gino Spero runs a racket business that…read morebilks homeowners by lying about labor done and materials used. He gives you a relatively high estimate (supposedly because of quality) and then farms out the labor to a cheaper third party subcontractor for whom he does inadequate quality assurance nor does he supervise. He lies on the contract and becomes borderline unreachable once the work is finished and inevitably deteriorates as the seasons change. We hired him to build a roof which he did not weatherproof--or likely did not inform his subcontractors to--and then denied any wrongdoing once the roof started to collapse. There are open holes on the roof not even supported by plywood and he afterward tried to claim that the wrapping paper and felt used between wood and shingles was really a water shield as stated in his contract, which of course is a categorical lie. When confronted with the photos he lied again and stated that the "Grace ice and water shield" had really been used. It was not. The damage caused by this is extremely expensive and time consuming to address. The entire roof is covered with cheap paper. The leaks are extensive and directly above the HVAC system and electrical equipment. In addition to that the shingles are hastily glued on and too few were used overall which of course can only lead to more water penetration. They ended up tossing a good number of shingles that we had bought from them. The deck was full of holes, and the roof corners not even taped or covered with plywood. He tried to blame all leaks on parts of the roof he did not work on but this is easily disproven by an objective outside party. Even more fatally, the decks were not built with any slope or incline, so they collect water like rice cookers. He of course did not offer to fix or reimburse for the necessary work to fix it and is onto his next scam. We tried calling him countless times to fix the damage but he never showed up. You can get away with a lot of borderline fraudulent behavior in the contracting world and he is an embarrassment to other roofers and honest people in this business.

Reliable Fence is not a good company…read more They didn't have a foreman at the site. The crew couldn't communicate with neighbors and didn't know the property lines. Crew put their installation equipment on my fence without even asking me. The police had to be called since they had no staking of property lines. Reliable doesn't respect property lines of neighbors or do any due diligence before installing the fence. They rely on a their contract to have no accountability for important issues of property lines and permits. When I was shopping for a fence years ago, I didn't pick Reliable Fence since cheap fencing material. They broke the noise ordinance and worked 2 hours past the deadlines. Reliable Fence Management was not concerned about breaking the rules. Just as they were not concerned with ensuring property owner staked the property boundaries. Reliable Fence Management had no concern for their staff and sent them out to work in a storm with 20 to 50 mile hour winds with large trees near the installation area. Reliable Fence was reported to the department of labor for their unsafe work practices. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. Worst Fence Company with lack of accountability. poor quality of materials, and no oversight of the workers.
