He agreed and after meetings to tighten up the design and engage his plumber we trusted our home to Gage and his team and left. Before we left he told us he not only planned on building the stairs but basically completing the entire job! While we were gone we got consistent updates, pictures and videos of the progress. When we got back the job was 99% complete. He gave us time to figure out if there were any adjustments to make and took care of our requests. They do good work on an aggressive schedule. They barely looked at it, didn't mention all the things that Bill pointed out, told me they couldn't do it until 3 weeks later, then said it would cost twice as much as Bill's quote. Needless to say, we went with Bill. He started the job quickly and wrapped it up even quicker. When he was done he even quoted us on painting the entire deck, which we took him up on because painting a deck is a major pain in the ass. He completed the painting in about 2 weeks (due to weather and holidays) and it came out great. The deck required 3 coats due to the dark stain that was originally on it, but Bill didn't change the cost of the job or complain. Weather turned to winter and I left it go...now out 500.00 dollars and my roof is leaking horribly. I just experienced another rainy day ...horrible leaking going on still but am totally fearful of hiring someone again for fear of being ripped off once again. These guys are aweful..im retired woman alone and I trusted them to take my money and do the job. They did not meet their stated completion date and we had to move in with construction going on for another couple of months! The project start date was delayed two months as well. Some of their work was done well but other things were not, and we requested them to be corrected when significant. When they were nearly finished, they started balking at correcting errors and demanding more money, and that is when we stopped the project with a few tasks left uncompleted.
