One of the best I've ever had, including many I've had in Hawaii. Everything about it was tasty and super fresh and generous. Service was also exceptional. Their space is bright and cheery and polished. They even have a sign prepared that explains what their name means and how to pronounce it :) They have a few other bowls and plenty of attractive smoothies and juices so I'm looking forward to going back!

It's a cool quick stop as you walk through this lovely area of town. 3/5 for drinks we got this afternoon, nothing really stood out. Smoothies and Slushies are $8.99 each. I got the Ginger Lemonade, it tasted refreshing at first but you had to drink in quickly as the ice melted away which altered the flavor. I liked the kick of a freshly squeezed ginger. My daughter enjoyed the Berry Rico (Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries & banana, almond milk), not too thick or liquified though it tasted more banana than berries. It doesn't have its own restroom though the staff told me I could use Tea & Tea next door and I did. Tea & Tea restroom provides toilet seat covers. Free street parking around the neighborhood.

So when I was back in Portland, I knew I had to come again. It does get pretty busy, but i only waited about 10-15 minutes. They have outdoor seating and a cute pickup window for to-go orders, but I definitely prefer sitting inside for the full experience. I ordered an iced matcha latte sweetened with honey, which was really good. For food, I got the avocado toast with two poached eggs and it was LOADED. The avocado comes in bigger chunks, the creamy spread was delicious, and the corn added the perfect little touch of sweetness. All the flavors worked so well together. I also got a side of hash, which was a pretty generous portion. It needed a little salt for me, but they have salt and pepper right on the table, so easy fix. Little tip: ASK FOR THEIR GREEN HOT SAUCE. OMG. So much flavor! It's not overly spicy, just the perfect kick, and it made everything even better. I actually asked if they sold bottles because I would've taken a few home with me, but sadly they don't. They also have a selection of baked goods that looked great, so that's on my list for next time. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. Years later and Proud Mary is still just as good as I remembered. Definitely one of my Portland favorites!

Overall impressions: meh, there's better choices for coffee than this. Cappuccino was okay, I didn't think much of it. Their Pourover menu is pretty long and quite pricey. I think they average about $10-15 per drink and the most expensive was $26 (!!!) Hubs ordered the Ruiru 11 & SL28 Ruarai AA -- definitely acidic from the grapefruit & blackcurrant, but I personally didn't think it was worth $9 or that it tasted good. And onto dining in...we were seated at the bar/counter: -Hubs ordered the Turkish Eggs after the seeing it ordered from the party next to us. This was decent, very dill-heavy and quite a generous portion and served with pita bread. -I ordered the Hamachi Crudo and cleaned my plate! Loved this dish, though it was also pricey. -Aussie-Style Iced Coffee (with ice cream), we ordered this to try since I had originally thought Proud Mary Cafe served Australian coffee, but this was all I found on the menu related to Australia...it was good because what can go wrong with some coffee and ice cream? Restrooms were clean. Service was fair. We found street parking nearby around back of the restaurant in the neighborhood.

I'm sure those are just as delicious as I have yet to order something that isn't. This can be an expensive habit to start BUT they do give you reward points. They have an app to order pickup with ease, make customizations to your order and track rewards. My go to waffle is the jam slam. They seem tiny but they are very filling. I highly recommend the blueberry almond butter smoothie and pink flamingo! I loved the açaí mango bowl but man that blue vanilla cashew drizzle on the radiant raspberry bowl is something to try. So far I've only done pickup orders with my coworkers and the items have survived the 10 min drive and aren't watery or soupy by the time I get to enjoy them. The shopping center is always packed and parking can be difficult depending on the time of day.
