Every chick i buy from this dump dies. I caught what was going on the last time as the chicks yet again had a discharge which turned into bloody poop called coccidiosis. Not 1 person knew what to do! Ive lost over 80 chicks from these people and am extremely heartbroken. read more

Needed some kayak paddles and the paddles I was looking for said it was In stock on the website, so I find the nearest employee which was at the gun counter 2 isles over, at he was rude at first and I stayed nice, but he told my the kayak stuff was two isles over, and I said it wasn't, so then I ask what happens if I ship it to the store, like when will it come in, and he got super rude, so I start up told him he was being a little rude to me and my 13 year old daughter, (not to mention that her 14th birthday was tomorrow) he started yelling when I told him his customer service was bad and I walked away, then he proceeded to follow me and my teenage daughter, yelling about how he was retired, he didn't leave us alone until I yelled at him that it was his job, and then my husband got onto him, I told someone else who didn't have a clue what they were doing at the register, so I wanted to make sure that someone in charge would know about this and that they need to know about that employees anger issues and his terrible customer service. I would give no stars if I could read more

My fishing rod spool wasn't working correctly, so I took it into Rural King to see if an employee could fix it. Shout out to Jose and Kevin, those two deserve a raise! They spent over 15 minutes working on my spool. I didn't think it could be fixed, so I purchased another one from the store. Less than 10 minutes after I arrived at my fishing destination, Jose drove up and announced he was able to fix my original spool, and gave it to me. I have never had an employee go out of their way to deliver that kind of amazing service before. Jose and Kevin never stopped working on the spool after I left the store, and their dedication and time was much appreciated. It sure paid off for me. You guys are awesome! I was wavering between giving three or four stars, and settled on four, because the store does have a great deal of variety, seems to be aimed at the farmer and those of us who have farms, and the prices appear to be quite reasonable. For example, I have German Shepherds and require a high quality dog food, so I have settled on Taste of the Wild, a grain free dog food with meat as the primary ingredient, and only a 30% fat content. I had been buying my food from Tractor Supply, but when Rural King opened, I have been getting it from them ever since, as the price is lower. However, the reason I almost went with three stars instead of four has to do with their policy regarding firearms. I appreciate the fact that they opt to sell guns, but they are going about it all wrong. The other day, I asked to look at a revolver sitting in the display case. The employee took out the gun and I looked it over. I cocked the hammer back to feel the action a little, as any prospective buyer would, but was unable to lower the hammer due to the trigger lock. The employee explained that he was not allowed to remove it, thus a buyer, as myself, was unable to actually examine the gun. I couldn't open the cylinder or feel the action at all. A person buying a firearm needs to be able to look the product over, and having the trigger lock in place prevents that. As you can imagine, it would be utterly impossible to examine a semi-auto pistol with this lock in place, as you would be unable to action the slide or anything. As a final insult, the employee stated that he would have to walk me out to my car if I decided to buy a gun there. Let's bear in mind that a lot of us have concealed carry, and I had a loaded .45 Glock on my side. This is a deplorable policy regarding gun sales, something you would not find in a regular gun store. As someone who has been purchasing firearms for over fifty years, I can honestly say that I would never buy a gun from rural king--ever. To be disallowed to reasonably examine a firearm prior to purchase, and then be humiliated by having to have a kid half my age walk with me to my car if I did buy from them, is intolerable. I will continue to buy my dog food from them because their pricing is very good, and my wife and I also like the various food items that they have. I might mention, also, that the clothing they sell is of pretty nice quality, and decently priced, so they have that going for them. All in all, this is a pretty nice store, and is large, very large. However, until they change their policy on how they treat a potential gun buyer, I can't give them the fifth star. read more

Rural King is a good Store. I come from Butler, Ky. They have a wide variety of things. You have to watch when they ring up your stuff. I bought some things today and they charged more for them then they were marked. Happened to me before. I go several times a month. read more
