I was at our local store on Mother's Day and outside was a table with workers and some young kids helping other kids and adults fill cute pink buckets with choices of flowers and soil for Mother's Day. I was helped making 6 of them, when finished I was ready to pay and surprise, it was free! I was told the store likes to give back to the community by doing this, hot dog food cart, etc! What a wonderful way to show appreciation to the community! Thank you to all workers and others who helped this event! Rural king has turned into a joke! The employees at this location tried to help us but it was out of there hands. The corporate supervisor Taylor all but called us liars and wanted to sit and argue when we had email proof that what we were saying was factual. The worst customer service I have ever experienced! Corporate didn't even care to fix the situation even though they are the ones that screwed up. What a way to value and treat your customers. This is just pathetic really pathetic rural king. I spend a crap load of money at rural king and get treated like shit. If you have an issue don't expect corporate to do a thing about it. They will just sit and call you a liar read more

Went to pick up a firearm from their online site and the "gentleman" that "assisted" me seemed annoyed when I told him about my order. His name is Art and has zero customer service. I still appreciate the other employees in the hunting department and everybody else has been great except for Art. read more

Wow. Compared to the Marion Rural King, this one is quite a bit nicer. It's in the old KMart, and feels more like a KMart than, well, a rural Odd Lots like the Marion one. Yeah, the floors are still scruffy, but the place in general is bigger, better lit, and better organized. Same kind of selection: work clothes, household good, farm and pet supplies. Lots of gardening stuff outside since it's that time of year: mowers, mulch, plants. I was here mainly for the candy, and they have a good selection of the favorites in big bags. Also, I found some oddball root beers. Prices are reasonable. Service was good, if haphazard. There seemed to be more employees than customers, but everyone was kinda milling around as if unsure what to do. The store hasn't been open long, so hopefully that will sort itself out. This is actually handy for me on the way to work, so it will probably become a frequent stop if I need something for the house or garden... or just more penny candy for work. read more

Only writing this review due to the customer service. Purchased a firearm from this location recently and the employee behind the gun counter was completely rude. Seemed annoyed that I was there to buy something even though I knew exactly what I wanted. Usually the employees at this location are helpful, but this man was not pleasant. Sort of a mix of Tractor Supply with some of the Anderson's. It's an old Kmart location, so it's big. The store has basic clothing and shoes for men, women, and kids. It also has large areas for: firearms and fishing supplies; lawn and gardening (including outdoor furniture); different batteries (such as those for tractors) and auto parts; animal supplies for farm animals and pets (for example dog foods from Iams and Blue to Gravy Train), even beekeeping supplies! And the prices are terrific. We got crabgrass preventer for about half what it would have cost in Cbus. I definitely recommend this store--it's worth the drive! read more

They sold my husband a NEW zero turn lawnmower that didn't work! They said it just needed some warranty work at another store in town and that it would be easily taken care of. Exactly one month later nobody (except us) has done anything to try and get the manufacture to fix it! read more

Huge store with a lot of potential. Problem is that's its horribly mismanaged. They are constantly out of product. I have to keep switching dog food because they constantly cannot supply the same kind. When you ask when it will be in they say we have no idea. We can not control what comes in on the truck. We never know what coming to our store. The lady that "manages"the pet food section is extremely rude. She spends more time talking to herself then she does the customers. I hope she takes nicer to herself than she does the customers. I was there yesterday and they were out of several things on the shelves but many pallets full of product sitting around. (poor management) I spoke to the store manager (Shaun) about shavings they were out of. He said they had plenty but were having fork lift trouble. He eventually had someone bring them to the front for me.(you could tell the employee's attitude was based off his managements culture. I tried to ask the manager Shaun about the dog food issue and he blamed everything on Covid and basically dismissed me and walked away. Mind you this is the same "manager " I saw chew out two employees right in the middle of the store! This could be an awesome store but it's definitely in need of a culture and management change which is basically the same thing. read more

I've been going to this location for the last 3 years; I believe this past Friday will be my last time...used to be a great place with friendly; and helpful staff, sometimes things cost a little more but the customer service made it worth it, but lately it has been horrible... it's like pulling teeth to get help...on Friday my plan was to buy a couple firearms like I had there soo many times in the past ... there was 2 employees at the gun counter talking to a group of guys, about protests and the need for a gun. I patiently waited about this time another guy came up and was immediately asked if they needed help, 2 other people came up and I had not even been greeted, in about a ten min period... finally, I just thought forget it... the last few times id been in it seems like staff is less and less knowledgeable about questions that I had, I also needed some chicken feed as so when I went through the checkout I told the cashier what had happened and was completely blown off her attitude of (ya happens all the time) was the last straw...time to find somewhere else to do business read more

We've been there twice to speak to someone about the RK24 tractor. We even left our phone number and requested a phone call back, 3 days ago. I guess $14k doesn't matter to them. We were even looking at a UTV for 10k. I'm concerned if they treat us like this NOW, what happens when something needs service? Concerned all Rural Kings have the same attitude. Rural King is a giant country store, kind of like a Tractor Supply on steroids. Kinda like TSC marries Kmart...in fact, this location is in an old Kmart building. Great prices on most products. You could look around for hours (I spent 3 hours in this location on Thanksgiving 2016.) A lot of items in stock that you'd otherwise have to buy online. My favorite is the toy selection. Lots of toys; at least leading up to Christmas anyway. These guys seem to have the best prices and best in store selection of Bruder toys in the country. (Bruder are awesome made in Germany toy trucks BTW.) You'll leave here with something that you want/ neeed...if you don't...you either didn't have your eyes open or you didn't walk the whole store. read more
