This is a pretty chill Giant Eagle. I like that it's usually pretty quiet, everyone who works there is polite and cheerful, and it's easy to get in and out quickly. LOVE that it has a state liquor store right inside. The people working at the pharmacy are probably the nicest people on earth, but they do seem to struggle with the technology quite a bit. The beer section is a little weird and out of place. I was totally confused as to why it was so far away from the wine section and liquor store and couldn't actually even figure out where it was the first few times I came into the store. Would like to see a little more variety in the cheese department. Couldn't find some basic imported cheese there and had to go to the Market District on the other side of town to get it. read more

I dropped off 4 dress shirts here to be laundered and pressed. I go to pick them up a couple days later and the guy charges me $35! I'm like what? Turns out that these mental midgets went and DRY CLEANED my shirts when I specifically told them LAUNDER AND PRESS. Not dry clean!!! I am a veteran of pre Covid wine tastings at the Kingsdale Giant Eagle. They were interactive, with vendors, people in line, sample ladies, music - it was fun!! We learned a lot about wine from the distributors and sometimes the vintners themselves. The current wine nights aren't any of these things. We are excited to have it back. The food samples are generous but hit or miss...cold mac and cheese stands out. Nice for a quick evening out but far from the social event we loved. "Wine Night" is the 3rd Friday of the month. Google Maps takes me here when I think I'm going to the store located at Bethel and Sawmill (Hayden Road turns into Bethel and the Hayden Run shopping center is across the street) so I end up here without meaning to. This location is medium-sized. You won't find 40 different cereals but you'll find the basics with some extras. The store is clean and I tend to go after work when most people are making dinner or are eating out. This means the aisles are pretty clear and it's easy to find parking. read more

This Giant Eagle location has become my new go-to grocery since moving to the suburbs. It's much smaller than what I'm used to (which was the Grandview location), so the selection isn't as varied and robust in terms of vegetables, fruits, and meat products. I'm glad that this location has the rotisserie and other cooked food. Service is great, with the flower shop and dry cleaning. read more

Giant Eagle has always been somewhere I go grudgingly. I miss Big Bear, and typically go to Meijer for serious shopping. But Giant Eagle is often handy. Prices- meh. Good on some things, outrageous on others. Service is usually very good. Selection is okay, not great. And I often find expired items on the shelves and in the coolers. All of the above applies to Giant Eagle in general; I've been to half a dozen stores. Overall, maybe I'd bump it to three stars. This location, while not awful, is only useful to me because it's not too far away. If I have an extra 15 minutes, I go to Meijer. And, it was open 24 hours which worked well for me. Was. I went last night at 1255am, only to find them closing up. Whaaaat? Yep, 6am to 1am, as of February. So, now it's not even very convenient for me, so I might not be back. I attempted to go grocery shopping this evening and brought in my recyclable wine bag. I was also one of the only people wearing a mask. I was singled out by an employee who told me that having a recyclable bag was "against the rules." (What made it really embarrassing is that he was scolding me from across the aisle in front of other customers rather than coming up to me and speaking to me normally.) I asked him why it was "against the rules." He couldn't give me an answer. First of all, I was one of the only people in the store wearing a mask...and I got singled out simply for having a recyclable bag? Secondly, there were no signs on the door indicating that recyclable bags were no longer permitted in the store. Thirdly, I went to customer service and was told by a cashier that it was "shut down." I asked for a manager and she turned her back on me and walked away! I ended up going to Kroger on Hilliard-Rome. Not only did they treat me like a human, they used a recyclable bag for my wine purchase and told me to keep it. I will NEVER set foot in Giant Eagle again. I should also note that another customer spoke to me about the way I was treated and that there was nothing wrong with me bringing in a recyclable bag. I shared with him that I had just gotten back from New York state and you're required to bring your own recyclable bags for grocery shopping. (You're also required to wear a mask, but that's beside the point.) I guess Giant Eagle doesn't care about the environment or their customers. read more

Just a note about the bakery...I ordered a birthday cake by phone a few days ahead of the party and the young lady taking the order was wonderful. The cake was ready on time and they did a fantastic job. My family and I absolutely love the almond cake flavor they offer. I would definitely order from this location again. I used to really enjoy shopping at the Eagle. Store is certainly nice - clean - easy to navigate. Prices have gone up everywhere but the Eagle has led the charge. Some items are at least 50% higher than any other store. I am willing to pay a little for a better experience but if I have to take a 2nd mortgage to buy groceries probably not worth it. read more

Worse customer service ever. My husband purchased $4,700 in Pottery Barn gift cards, to find out one $500 gift card wasn't in the bag when he arrived home. When I called the manager, he was disrespectful and wouldn't help me. When I was given the GM's email, he never replied. When I was given the 800 customer service number, the girl was very rude, and told me it wasn't their problem. They were not kind, nor did they care. If they would'v'e "attempted" to try to research the missing card, it would've been better....but nothing. I will never shop there again. read more

I absolutely DESPISE the way this store is i organized/labeled. It makes shopping way more time consuming than it should be. Why is "hot cereal" a label, and not just "cereal"? Every aisle is labeled nonsensically. I couldn't even find a candy aisle. I've never been so comically frustrated with a simple shopping trip, lol. The prices are higher than Walmart by a dollar or so per item. The staff is fast and friendly. Aisles are small, another source of frustration when you're stuck behind a herd of slow walkers. I like the location because it's close to home. I do feel they are very over-priced and I prefer to shop at Trader Joe's it's just so far!

So, I've shopped off and on your store. I was always disappointed by your " organic section " . I won't sugar coat it, I won't buy it. Why ? Looks old, is old, has brown spots. Kroger out does you, but never stays fresh, but at least it isn't brown. Today I had a mere $5.00 check I wanted to cash at your customer service. I was told no by a regular employee. Wow, a small check FOR the no good " Horizon egg nog " . And I stated that. And I bought it at your store, like Horizon isn't going to give me a bum check. Another wow, what the heck moment for me. I was kind of digging your salad bar. But, I won't be coming to your store again. I'm really thinking Kroger and I know whole foods for a fact , had and has beat your food appeal, as well as excellent customer services. You don't deserve one star. the hayden run store is small , over priced and poorly stocked . it is hard to get help there and hard to get a good cashier that actually knows what they are doing . i only go there because i live very close to the store and my age and health makes it difficult to go to a more distant location . otherwise i would be shoping any place but there . read more

Not a typical Giant Eagle, a much smaller store so few products and selection. Management can be rude at times, but the associates always seem helpful. Prices are a little high, but that's typical with any Giant Eagle location. read more

Other than being off the beaten path, this is a great grocery store. We live kind of in the country so it's a good 5-10 minute drive, but then again, so is anything else. It's open 24 hours, always clean, ample parking, and the people who work here are extremely friendly and helpful. I can't think of a time where something I wanted to purchase wasn't available. The deli and butcher staffs are my favorite, always making suggestions on side dishes or cooking methods. Right in our neighborhood and a great store. Not too big for just run in and grab up a thing or two for dinner. The staff is wonderful and friendly, the store is always clean and like the convenience of the in store bank and dry cleaner. Produce is fresh and the bakery is delish! Just moved here from Alaska so the prices seem incredibly cheap. Great to get fresh food that hasn't been shipped 4000 miles. Am getting very spoiled...and they even had Copper River salmon for far less than I could ever get in Anchorage. Amazing! read more

Once again, had to go to another store because they dont have something. Today, they are out of every soft drink I typically purchase. It says something about management when you are out of non-perishable items like Sprite. I find myself going more and more to Walmart and Whole Foods. The cake decorators at this particular Giant Eagle (Hayden Run, Hilliard OH) are fantastic! They decorated a 1/2 sheet cake the same design as our baby shower invitations: Jungle Theme. It was gorgeous -- complete with mottled edging like a giraffe. We have been very satisfied with the decorating every time. The cakes are very tasty, too. read more

I live right by this place and shop here on a weekly basis. I can honestly say I have never been to a corporate grocery store before where the employees are so helpful and cheerful! Yes it's Giant Eagle so it's a little more pricey than other local grocery stores. But the people that work there are so friendly and helpful I don't mind paying a few extra bucks. I just hope the employees are paid well enough to reflect the awesome customer service at this store because they deserve it. read more

I wanted a special cake for my sons 16th Birthday party, I had no idea what to put on it, while shopping at GE I stopped by the Bakery, talked to the sweetest girl, named Rachel. She asked all the right questions, and offered idea's. I was so excited. She told me how they can put pictures on cakes, I had 3 pictures, his family, best friend and girlfriend, because that is what he cares about most. My Birthday is the day before his, and at midnight my boys surprised me with a special cake and a special message on it. It was beautiful. My sons party was awesome and we loved the cake, so did everyone else. I wish I could include a picture. Later that week we were at GE on Hayden Run, and there was Rachel, she waived at us. Jess said, Mom that is the girl , that made your cake, I laughed and said, she also made and decorated yours. Now we always look towards the Bakery to see if she is there. If I need anymore cakes, I will call Rachel, she knew what to ask and offer, she is excellent at he job, and always had a smile on her face.
