This business reminds me of the tractor supply company chain stores but on steroids. They carry a lot of the same stuff that TSC does, but just more of it with wider variety. They have a very broad selection of merchandise to include clothing, hunting gear, animal, food, barbecue stuff, tools, and the list goes on and on to include live chickens and ducks! Nice! I specifically came to this store as they are the only store in the area that sells lumberjack wood pellets for barbecue smokers. These are some of the best pellets you can buy and if you are serious about how you do your barbecue, they are one of only two pellet brands I use with the other one being bear Mountain. The price was cheap in my mind, $10 for 20 lbs, with a nice selection of pellets to choose from. The only other option to get these pellets in our area is buy Internet purchase for a SIGNIFICANTLY more money! I don't know what kind of store this is. I went in thinking it was like Menards or Home Depot, but it really wasn't. I was looking for paint and they had a paint section with no paint really for the house at all. Most of the store was made up of clothing for hunters, dog, products, and food. I'm not really sure what to think about it. I will say they had really good popcorn that was free. The sales associate that tracked me out was also very kind. Yes, I bought some dog bones. The Store itself is fine. No complaint there. HOWEVER... Twice in 2 days I stopped by the Gun counter to look at a specific item. The first time there was only 1 person helping people and he was helping the same person for the entire 45 minutes I was in the store. I left because there were other customers waiting also. Then today (12 -14 - 24) I was the ONLY person at the counter but the 2 ladies talking behind the register were too engrossed in their conversation to help me. I admit I did not wait more than a minute, but like I said, I was the only customer and they didn't even acknowledge I was there. read more

This is where I buy footwear, clothes, coffee, hardware items, yard furniture, auto supplies, hunting and fishing equipment, gardening supplies, and much more. This place is awesome! The staff is really helpful too. This place is like a sporting goods harbor freight and tractor supply on steroids. Anything you need to keep your farm ranch or property working. This place helps get the job done. Great place to spend a couple hours browsing around. A lot of people had their dogs with them. A lot of people say there's nothing between Ann Arbor and Flint. And they are so wrong. Last month, Hartland welcomed Rural King Supply store. Which btw, is now my favorite store ever in the entire world. I honestly don't know where to begin. Is it the six dollar packs of tube socks? The Larry the Cable guy tater chips? The three dollar cases of Faygo? Or maybe the inconspicuous barrels of chirping yellow chicks scattered throughout the store? It's a tough call. Everything in the entire store is so great and "eclectic" I don't know where to begin. They have free popcorn, lots of Americana stuff and are likely going to be offering a corporate stance urging Trump to remember to hold steady on his promise to lock hillary up any day now. I was having a hard time finding an item in other stores. I asked Elizabeth, who was working the front desk about it. She looked it up, then got the item from the isle and brought it back to the counter for me. She went way out of her way and it made me feel good. I have made many trips to world king in the past six months and I am pleasantly surprised each time at what I find. Whether you need camping or fishing equipment or sportswear and shoes and boots, they have it all. Food choices, birdseed and much more awaits you. They also had great prices on salt for the sidewalk this past winter. And it's always a treat to see the baby chicks and ducks that they have there. I have found the staff to be helpful and friendly even know many on here have found otherwise. We all have a bad day once in a while, cut them some slack. read more

Rural King is great for the random stuff we end up needing. Fencing parts, a ball and hitch for our SUV, line for the weed trimmer. The store is massive and has clothing, lawn and garden supplies, fencing, everything you need for farm animals large and small, the list goes on. They have rabbits and baby chicks (geese, chickens, etc) that are so cute and fluffy, but no touching! Sometimes it's hard to find help if you need to because the store is just that massive, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. Choosing our ball hitch took so long simply because there were so many options. I don't come here often, but it's usually for something I can't get anywhere else! read more

This review is not about the entire store itself, I love the store in general, this review is more focused on the sporting goods desk (gun barn). I went there to get a deer license because the computer at Meijer was down and I was waiting for almost 40min. The people behind the desk talk to each other and when more customers come they walk to a different section so there's only one person behind the desk. Also the people at the desk need computer training or something because they take forever to pull up one thing. Also a deer license takes 5min so they should really take those customers before people who are purchasing a gun which takes a great span of time. read more

Solely based on their gun price matching policy. They will match any retailer, including those online *except Amazon. Fair enough that is black and white. Until I actually tried to price match up against a reputable gun retailer and then was offered the line "well we also don't price match clubs" (think Costco). So with that, not sure why anyone would purchase a firearm here as their prices are in-line with other big box stores. On a positive note, it's nice to see someone occupy the spot where Walmart once stood when they decided this wasn't a profitable location for them. read more

I'm not sure why the bad reviews above, I'm assuming they work for TSC. This is by far the best farming store around! All kinds of made in the USA products and they are proud of that. Everything is priced lower then most stores, I have purchased their jeans and they are unbelievably tough. It is not full of Chinese junk like tractor supply! Make sure that you look at your receipt before you leave the store. The price that you are charged may not be the price that was on the sign near the product. That $1.99 box of Tortilla chips may cost you $4.99 at the check out (*last week). That .99 cent jug of windshield washer solvent may cost you $1.59 (x4 when you believe you are getting a great deal) (*this week). Also, the washer solvent may have 2 different UPC codes and they are identical bottles, in the same display. A little "slight of hand" going on here? The excuse "Hey, we're new here, we'll get better". Really? The customer service desk is very exhausting, especially when trying to get your state law "bounty" for being charged more than what the sinage indicates. I'll give this place one more try but it may be worth the 10 minute drive North to the TSC store in Fenton. read more

I am in there at least twice a week. I had one rude encounter in over 100 visits. The employee chased me down to apologize. She received some bad news just before I asked for a product less than five feet from me. Even the younger people are nice and helpful. A manager helped me find a store where I could get what I needed that did not help Rural King at all just the customer. Also you can order things online. The place isn't perfect but I am not the easiest person to get along with. I really like this store. read more

I went to Rural King in Hartland this morning to purchase some basic chicken supplies. I was promptly greeted by the store manager whom politely offered his assistance and directed me to the help of Morgan. Morgan, a friendly, smiling face was beyond knowledgeable, helpful and insightful to the topic at hand. She went above and beyond- she insisted on personally carrying my supplies to the checkout counter and even went as far as carrying a large bag of feed out to my car for me!!!
