I have been going to Weingartz Farm Hills for last 10-15 yrs and have always had great service and sales support. Rob in service has been very helpful, fixing things at the desk to avoid leaving equipment in for service. I'm just a homeowner and their company does a lot of business w lawn companies and their big crews, trailers, etc. But when I go I get same level of service. Always helpful, courteous and that is why I keep coming back. Top to bottom they are a great operation. We are in the process of making room in our two-car garage so we can actually park two cars there, and a big step in that process involves selling our lawnmower. The lawnmower needed a tune up, as the battery no longer worked and it would not start, and we contacted Weingartz to help. They picked up the lawnmower about a week ago, and said they'd call us if the work needed would total over $400. Sure enough, it was over $400 so they called us. My husband and I decided to move forward with the work, which included a new battery, new carburetor, and other things. If we had decided not to continue, the $90 pick up/drop off fee plus the $136 to look at it would have still applied. Our total was about $680 including all of that. It was supposed to be delivered today between 2-4pm, and they texted to say they were on the way. I stepped outside around 3pm to see our lawnmower being driven up our NEIGHBOR'S driveway; I went to go tell my husband and when I came back, we saw the Weingartz truck driving away. It was extremely disappointing that not only did they deliver it to the wrong house, but they didn't even knock on the door or tell our neighbors, presumably - we knocked on their door to tell them we were taking our lawnmower back. Until that point, communication had been good, so that's why they get two stars from me instead of one ... However, between the high pricing and the mishap at the end, unfortunately I don't think we'll be using them again. The cherry on top of all of this: I called them to tell them about them delivering it to our neighbors, and they didn't really seem to care. The person I talked to asked if I wanted to talk to the manager; I said yes; she put me on hold without telling me she was going to put me on hold, and then it went to the manager's voicemail. Set up a pick up on 4/27 and they promised the return delivery on 5/9. No contact until 5/8 when I called and they said it hadn't been looked at yet. They called to report on the diagnostics on 5/13 to say that they didn't recommend a repair. They said that they could "scrap" it and keep it and give me $45 from the cost of diagnostics. That is actually the cost of the return delivery that they wouldn't be doing so it wasn't "giving" me anything. Mike, the service manager, said that he didn't really have anything that would help me when I said I would need to buy a new mower. When I walked in and saw 5 riders on the floor, I knew they just didn't want my business. Oh well, I'll be shopping elsewhere. read more

My experience with Weingartz for a lawn mower repair was awful. I wish I could give negative stars. We took in a 12 month old Honda lawnmower , purchased from Weingartz, in for service for occasional smoke from the engine. I took in a working lawn mower for service and when I returned to pick up my mower, they said it was not repairable and returned to me in pieces. I would not recommend any purchases from Weingartz as they hold no accountability for the products they sell. A few additional notes, I did call and ask to speak to a manager to share my concerns. The woman I spoke with gave a very bland "Sorry" and honestly didn't have anything additional to say. I probably wouldn't have taken the time to sign up to leave reviews specifically to warn people of how I was treated if there had been more concern, questions about who we worked with, or any real apology. Happy with our Mower and thought getting it from a business that specializes in this type of equipment would be a good way to go but the customer service at Weingartz leads me to believe we made the wrong decision. Multiple times, Yes more than once I have received the wrong information from them and am made to feel like an idiot! I even repeat the information back to them to make sure I heard it correct. The last time I asked him twice and he reassured me the information he gave me was correct and of course it was not. When I question them about it, they just basically blow me off and make it sound like I'm the one in the wrong. The salesman and the service tech that came to our house to service the mower, both great! Just wish the people at the service desk could get there stories straight. This is the second time I brought A Mower up here and they did not complete the job. They Didn't clean the deck off grass from a previous job I had before the mower was turned in the grass was brown & green. The Customer service is terrible Here I paid For something that was halfway done This will be the last time I do Business Here I Do not Recommended Anyone to come here they are Terrible and the attitudes of some of them are not welcoming at all. I was told we are waiting on one part then they don't have any of the parts then they canceled my order and made me do it all over again. Don't order parts from this place, it took them more than two weeks to schedule a shipping date for the 3 items I order, I call them twice a week after I place my order to check status on it and the person said that it was scheduled to be shipped that afternoon, so call them again two days later to confirm if the had shipped them but the person told me the same thing that my items were scheduled to ship that afternoon. Took a generator in to the Grand River Shop have a gas leak fixed . All the service rep was interested in was giving me a tune up. So they charged me $133.76 and when I got home I still had the gas leak so I took it back to the shop . They supposedly fixed it again, but was still leaking and not even put together properly so I went back a third time and he finally told me they couldn't do anymore with it. It starts and runs perfectly but leaks and that leak was my one and only original complaint which they did not address. I asked for a refund or credit and was refused. Ordered a set of 3 blades(m115496) off your Amazon site. Received only one blade for 37$??? Then had to argue with a Devon and Melissa over what was or wasn't stated on the Amazon site. After proving that I was correct they then stated the listing was incorrect on the Amazon site???? Bottom line was the order was filled incorrectly and they(weingartz) didn't want to honor what was ordered. Won't say I'll not order from them again but I'll research them better. read more

I PURCHASED A CUB Cadet lawn tractor from Weingartz. There was absolutely NO price advantage from Weingartz over buying this item at Lowes. That was my mistake. Lowes actually sold the same tractor, and free delivery. I thought buying from a local dealer would provide an advantage over a "big box" store. Weingartz would not accept my check in the mail, their maintenance service was way over priced, and I could not actually talk to anyone about service. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience! Stay away! I made two internet orders over last weekend, I paid for overnight shipping on both orders to be shipped out Monday for Tuesday. It is now Friday and am being told I will not receive until monday??!! I have been in contact with them multiple times and get the run around about my orders. First was told the phone lines are screwed up so they couldn't return my calls, was also told that their shipping department was having lots of issues. Was told Tuesday that I would get my shipping fees paid back to me (nothing in my account as of yet) and my order would arrive on Wednesday. Wednesday came and went nothing arrived , I called and was told that it was too late for Thursday delivery that it would be there on Friday and that representative would call me with confirmation still waiting on that call to happen. I just received a shipping confirmation for my orders to arrive on Monday. Wow horrible customer service and just keeps getting worse and worse. read more

Internet orders beware! Horrible customer service. I placed an internet order and was then asked to provide proof of identity via email. I responded immediately telling them that sending my driver's license to an unknown email was very uncomfortable, and please let me know how we could work this out. When I did not get a response I left a voicemail a couple of days later. After a week without a response to my email or voicemail, I emailed again asking for an order status update. In less than five minutes I had a response to my email telling me that my order had just been canceled. I am now back at square one trying to find my product. Super aggravating. Don't pay for delivery! I purchased a riding lawn mower and waited for delivery. The delivery driver was late and did not secure any of the multiple tractors being delivered. Mine was delivered with a big scratch in the fender. I was told I would get some touch up paint mailed to me in a couple days. 4 months later, I'm still waiting. Once the sale is final, so is the service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Staff always incredibly helpful (Special shout out to Ted). When you purchase equipment, they open it, fill it with gas and test it out for you. They also show you how to use it. All that for same price Home Depot will charge you (and good luck finding someone to help you there). Good customer service is hard to find - not here! read more

I took my 48 inch mower to Weingartz for seasonal maintenance to get my mower ready for the cutting season. The entire experience was disappointing. The worst part was they delivered my mower with the oil cap not screwed on. I didn't notice it because they had it for 2 weeks (that was supposed to be 7-10 days) and my lawn had to be cut (I got a letter from my city saying if I didn't cut my grass they would do it and charge me $150). So I was focused on taming the jungle that was my lawn. It was 8:30 in the evening and I was racing against the darkness. Upon stopping for the evening I noticed the back part of my deck was wet. I took a closer look and there was oil all over the deck. That is when I discovered they didn't screw on the oil cap. I checked the oil to see how much oil I had lost and it was empty. I have no idea how long I was cutting with no oil. I don't know if it caused any damage to the engine. I called the service manager to let them know what happened and had to leave a message because he was not in. That was almost 3 weeks ago - still haven't heard back from them. I guess leaving an oil cap loose on someone's mower doesn't rate a return phone call. Very poor customer service - very poor. read more

The mechanics may be good but the Managers are just TERRIBLE. Mike Maurer, Service Manager & James Mueller, Store Manager did not have the courtesy to return my calls. They took 11 days to get my riding mower back to me - after promising 3 day delivery. Yes, 11 days to service a mower that required no service on the engine. I live 4 miles from the store and they needed 5 days to get my mower delivered after service work was done. Their pricing is exorbitant!. I ended up spending $550 fixing a 19 year old mower that required no engine work; just belt replacement, blade sharpening and 2 tire replacement. Almost $400+ in just labor!! These Managers are paid to run the operation; staffing, overtime, delivery planning, # delivery trucks, drivers etc. but they are simply unqualified to do so and lack the 'customer first' attitude. Nice salesman but awful service department and extremely rude and unprofessional service manager! I purchased a new zero turn with mulch kit and new snowblower. I asked to have it setup good and (I was promised this) ready to mow when it was delivered. When it arrived it looked good but the deck wasn't leveled tires were inflated all different and it mowed awful and uneven. I was shocked at its poor cutting being $4000.00. I called they came to pick it up I explained it wasn't right and I mentioned the tires and the deck. It was redelivered in the exact same way they did nothing to the mower at all. I went to the store to talk to the manager of service and he was totally out of line and rude and quite upset that the mower was returned again. I said you guys can't even air up the tires correctly he refused to let me show him the 1.5 inch difference on the deck from side to side and refused to let me show him the tire pressure was extremely off in all the tires were different. Not a big deal but after it was returned you'd think they would go over it and make sure it was correct. The manager insulted me insulted and I'm my opinion should be fired for disrespecting a customer who had just spent $5200.00 and wanted a good working piece of equipment!!!!! The worse company I have ever dealt with doing online orders. Their online store is not IPhone friendly it constantly ask about cookies. I tried to check out and it kept saying there was problems on the credit/debit card page. I called their online assistance. They transferred me twice and the last transfer sent me to voicemail. Just wanted to make a posting regarding the visit I just had at Weingartz on grand River in Farmington Hills. First when I walked in the front door there was a guy at the small podium desk. I tried to make contact but he had no interest at all in even looking at me let alone saying hello or welcome to Weingartz. He just looked away. So I went to the parts and service counter and there were three people in front of me. Only one guy was working at the counter. Within five minutes three additional people got in line behind me. So now we have 7 people waiting in line, and the guy at the service counter disappears to do who knows what for at least five minutes and probably more. So you would think that a Weingartz manager would send an additional resource to the counter. Looking around the store there were at least eight employees doing what appeared to be almost nothing but talking to each other and laughing and joking. I felt like I was in a typical home depot. After a wasted 20 minutes of my life, I turned around and walked out. So sad that these retail stores cannot get even the basics right. I specifically drove here to support the local brick and mortar business, rather than ordering online. But experiences like these are going to spell the end of the road for marginal companies that have no clue how to care for their paying customers. You'd never know we were in a recession if you walk into Weingartz! The service/parts counter had six people working, each had a customer and about six more people waiting in line. There was a little wait but that's okay when you see six employees working their hardest to keep the line moving. I can't claim to know much about lawn and snow equipment but I know this...I paid $21 for a "universal" lawnmower blade at Home Depot that didn't fit my Toro. But at Weingartz, I got a Toro blade and the old blade sharpened for $19! I love that! I picked up the sharpened blade the next day but it would have been done right then if I could have waited. Great servce, great price, friendly employees, and clean. They've won my business if I ever need a big ol' John Deere - or just my blades sharpened again. read more

Weingartz is excellent! The customer service is extraordinary. I worked with Tom and he was incredibly helpful. I bought a John Deere tractor and knew what I wanted, I just was not sure of a couple of options. Tom went out of his way to help me with my questions.
