I could go in and get it quicker of course but the point of me ordering it several hours ahead of time, is for the convenience. The staff that does help me is always rude and annoyed. They should get rid of curbside pickup if they are short staffed and we can all go to the Greenwood location.

If you need grain, bird seed, dog food, feeding stations, fencing, and anything related to pets or livestock, I can't recommend TSC enough.

I explained to the young lady what my issue was in my yard and purchased the seed she recommended and a bale of hay. The young lady was extremely nice and explained the different variations to me as well prior to purchase. Value: well $3.99/lb was a bit pricey when I can get a 10 pound bag of Scott's for $11.99 at Ace Hardware. I am keeping in mind several things: This is a Mom & Pop shop (support of locally owned businesses), the seeds by Scott's are mass produced (made for any and all areas) and lastly this seed is "supposed" to produced for Indiana (that's got to be good, right). So with all of that being stated of course I'm taking the plunge and if it works I'll definitely be back. I'm really excited about it and hoping to see those bare spots in my yard fill in. I've…read morealways been fascinated by the store, however, I've never visited until I decided to drop in while having breakfast at the nearby Emmy's. I was on my way to do some more clearing out of my recently passed father's home. I've been intentionally having experiences that make me smile in an effort to balance all the emotions. What can I say? Rural King made me smile. From looking at other reviews, it's obvious that this is a relatively new spot for Rural King. It's on the western end of Avon not long before you head into Danville. While I tend to be a city boy (eastside of Indy), my parents lived in Putnam County and were what I'd call rural-lite. You will mostly find Rural King in, you guessed it, rural areas because it's a store clearly aimed at the rural lifestyle. That said, there's much to find for a city boy like me and often at much better prices than you'd expect. For example, the bird seed that I bought today was clearly at a much better price than you'll find in most stores and even online options (including the not named mega-online option). There's accessible parking here and an easy to enter front entrance. Aisles are wide enough for wheelchair users and there are employees present who are more than willing to help. They are friendly without being pushy. As I looked around, I will admit I really was having quite a bit of fun. Rural King carries clothing (mostly work/farm brands), gardening items, outdoor furniture, farm items, home goods, automotive, pet, and quite a bit more. They offer popcorn and coffee for shoppers. I was amazed at the bird seed prices. As a person fairly new with ensuring my bird feeder is always full, a place like Rural King makes that possible. Rural King carries all the familiar quality brands (Carhartt galore here) and the atmosphere for shopping is warm, welcoming, and yet also professional. If I hadn't been on the way to clear out a house, I'd have no doubt bought even more. I still bought bird seed as it was simply too good to pass up. My birds said "Thank you." The check out person was super friendly (she apologized for being a bit slow as she had some difficulty scanning a price). She signed me up for rewards (I have no idea why I signed up as I don't live close) and offered help (I should mention I am a wheelchair user) without being overly pushy about it. This was a blast. They have always had a bigger selection of bird feed or all types for your outdoor feathered friends as well as cool little hanging feeders. Depending on the season they have livestock as in chicks, ducklings, turkeys and even rabbits. The kids always get a kick out of that. I dig the place for the snacks you can find that to me seem to be somewhat unique. Even the toys they have are something different and plushies galore! Always got to get my kids a couple. I did shop for these items at Lowes and Home Depot but found more choices/options at Rural King plus the prices were more competitive. RK still has a large insert of advertising in the Mooresville paper. This printed flyer is available in the store as well to help steer you towards the deals. Don't forget to check out everything outside. There is a very large inventory of equipment in the parking lot and all along the front of the building.

Ace Hardware used to be my favorite store but RK has replaced them, primarily because in addition to selling most of what Ace has, RK has clothes, shoes, trailers, trailer hitches, cat food, chickens and a candy aisle. Plus they have a limited selection of guns and ammunition. Although I have never bought a gun from RK, I regularly buy ammunition from them because it is reasonably priced and available. I live rurally and this store fits my needs so much more. Even though their high end shirts (Ariat) were priced a full ten dollars more than the Martinsville and Greenwood locations, I found three Lincoln short sleeve shirts for $22 each. A helpful employee helped me sort out what LR and LT means for Lincoln clothing. These labels are on the hangers as well as the shirts themselves. Three cashier lanes were open plus Customer Service was handling a line of their own. There were about four customers in each line but they seemed to be moving okay. Regardless, RK opened up another lane while I was next to pay in my line. Good customer service here.

Their selection is AMAZING! They have a ton of brands, and the prices are pretty good. They seem to have changed the dog treat selection, and I can no longer find my dogs favorite treat. The toys they offer are ok. From what I can tell, they don't offer any rawhide treats, only alternatives. If you ever try one, look at the list of ingredients. Sometimes there is stuff in there I just don't think a dog needs in their body. And one caveat, this review is primarily based on things I shop for. Some departments seemed like an afterthought. They have a big but expensive clothing section, and a nice selection of snacks. The bagged candy is a really good deal. I highly recommend the chocolate covered raisins! They have unique and hard to find items like jewelweed soap or balm for poison ivy and Lava soap. They always have something new in their seasonal area, and during the spring and summer have very cool things. The cat supply area is also very well stocked, and they have a nice selection of cat trees. I used to get a pretty simple one my cats always enjoyed. Overall, it's close to one stop shopping if you don't need food. I don't go there a lot, but I know I can count on them for what I want when I go.
