They suck at taking care of there chickens. They die in least 1 night and even if they make it more than that they still die and the way they treat them is poorly look at the photos. read more

I think this store might be the largest RK I've ever been inside of because they have enough floor space to park their lawnmowers and yard rollers inside the building. Usually I see them outside in a parking lot area. Also they have set up a large patio furniture display in the back left corner from the front door. There was plenty of floor space all around the display. I found a new Lincoln short sleeve shirt for $22 that I liked. The fitting rooms were already unlocked which is not always the case in other RK stores. I think their clothing and footwear stock is also the most I've seen in a RK store. There is a lot of inventory to choose from here. I walked through the entire store checking out everything. Parking seemed more than adequate as plenty of spaces were available right in front of the main entrance. read more

Quite literally the worst rural king in Indiana. I've been to 7 different stores and I have never experienced such inconsistency and poor management in any of them like this one. You will wait in line for the one or MAYBE two registers they have open and you will never buy a gun from this store because they almost never have them out and ready to buy. They open between 7am and 9am- whichever they can manage to do I guess- and if you go in looking to buy guns around noon there is no guns out and no person in the gun barn. This store is pathetic. So much so that I'd rather go to shelbyville and I hate that town. read more

My brother put in a application here and called to check up on his application 2 days later, they told him that the lady that does the application wasn't in to call back tomorrow. So he proceeded to do that for A WEEK. Every day was the same answer "call back tomorrow, we don't know what to do". So today he called and he got upset, as I would too! And he was denied the job because of his "phone manners" I called and ask why he was denied the job because he got upset, he's called everyday for the whole week and has gotten the same answer. She told me she was sorry and that she was out that whole week with the flu. So I said my brother doesn't get the chance to work here because your team can't communicate that you we're out for a week. She's does the paper work but seems like she lets her manager under her do her actual job. read more

Rural King - the front of a rural king store - Home & Garden Near Me - Columbus, Indiana

After today I'll probably never come to Rural king again. A relative spotted a gun safe for a reasonable price so I called reserved it and came down to buy it. I walk up to the gun counter to pay and the manager tells another customer to check out here. So now I have to wait while the gun counter guy checks out this customer with a full shopping cart. Now it's my turn he takes me to the gun safe and I attempt to open it and ask for the code. The gun counter guy tells me they have no code, as-is, with no return. He also stated that I would have to contact the manufacturer. I do not believe the manufacturer would not give anybody the code because where would be the security in buying a safe? Rual King will have to get this figured out because I'm not. I also declined because I really don't want an expensive boat anchor. Rual King should get zero stars poor customer service and a ripoff read more

This store continues to go downhill after being filthy. Now the cash registers are getting worse. Tonight all of the cash registers minus two of them had different types of hardware and / or software issues. Customers like myself were very disappointed. Even the employees were very frustrated as well having no luck operating the cash registers. This has been an ongoing issue for awhile. This time they tried to ring me up on 4 different cash registers with no luck. I told I will get my merchandise from another store then I left. Will not be going back there. read more

First time I had visited this store I was impressed, about a year ago. Since then I have been back and its a total letdown. I believe the best Rural King in the area is likely Bloomington, which is consistently clean, stocked and friendly. Martinsville and Columbus both rank low....an you have to really try to get below Martinsville which is consistently the most UNFRIENDLY store I know of...consistently . read more

This store is so filthy that everything inside of it looks unappealing to buy. The ceiling is missing tiles and the floor is way to messy with food, dirt, and other disgusting matter. The parking lot is even dirtier that your toilet after you eat Taco Bell. Overall this establishment is very messy. read more

Rural King is what it is and if you're insistent on comparing it to other stores than you might be able to find fault with the ambiance there, but I love the place! I can walk my leashed dog in there and everybody is glad to see her. My daughter loves looking at the newborn chicks and we can find just about anything there from automotive, pet supplies, casual/work clothing, pool supplies, to a good gun/ammo selection. Take your pansy-aced self to Target if you're looking for a pristine floor...because regulars at RK could care less if there's some feed dust on the floor. read more

This store is awful. It is filthy, the customer service is pitiful, and it's practically the looney bin! As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, you could see trash flying everywhere, and when you walk into the building, it's worse than the parking lot! There were holes in the ceiling and creepy loud noises coming from the ceiling too. It's the middle of December and the store was FREEZING! They have this self serve free popcorn station that is probably not sanitary because people were using this scoop just sticking there grubby little hands into the popcorn, which is very gross. And when we went to check out the lady was very distracted and wasn't helpful at all. Very disappointed in this disgusting, filthy store. EDIT: Sadly, we had to come back to this awful store to return an on sale item we purchased that we were not satisfied with, and turns out, YOU CANNOT RETURN A RED TAGGED ITEM! There was absolutely no where in the store where you could easily see it. We didn't find this out until we had waited in line for 30 minutes for the sloths who ran this place to finally get to us and give us this information . That was 80 bucks down the drain. Let's just put it this way, we will NEVER shop at any Rural King ever again. Absolutely pitiful. read more

It's hard to keep up with the store hours that are always changing. They're open until 10 pm for daylight savings and then less than 3 weeks after the summer solstice they switch back to 9 pm. It's still daylight at 9:30. It would have been helpful if they would've posted their changing hours more prominently. No fun arriving 5 minutes late. Thank God for Walmart. read more
