I just purchased a chair last night and while I was very impressed with a number of things, there was one teeny tiny little detail that stuck that made me knock off a star. The aforementioned chair was one that was in stock, but finding the display was very difficult. I asked a couple of employees about chairs on display and was given the rote answer of "We don't have room to display everything". At one point I looked at how many chairs fit in a bay and found one area that could fit 5 more chairs, so that answer did NOT sit will with me. That's the only reason I'm knocking off a star. What made it an otherwise 5 star visit? The variety, for one thing. On this visit they were just filled to the brim with stuff. As I mentioned, I found a chair I liked, based on the picture on the box. As I was walking around, the staff were dealing with a pretty major ceiling leak that hit during a rain storm. One guy who had been helping there stopped what he was doing to help me. I don't mean he just gave me a quick answer to a question, he pulled a chair down I kind of liked, and helped me on my search for the one I REALLY liked. He eventually found it on display, and helped me get it down. We talked for a bit, and I helped him get it back up on the shelf. In the end, the customer service from this guy was great! Later, when I came back to buy the chair I wanted, the people on duty were very proactive in helping me. One lady found a flat cart, and the lady at checkout made sure I had help loading it. Having bought furniture online, this was totally worth the money. It's comfy and stylish, and feels like it should last. If you're thinking about a chair or loveseat and are on a budget, avoid those online shops and make sure to check this place out first!

I had a plethora of things I needed and asked one of the girls that was socializing up front for help, she responded with using her finger to point in the direction of where to find what I needed. Tried to get another person to help and she too responded with a pointer finger. I ended up pushing two carts by myself on one trip and not a single person offered help. I don't think that's too much to expect from a store like this as Lowes, Menards, and Home Depot are always willing. I also was looking to purchase 2 of the biggest/most expensive shop vacs that rural king has to offer, which they didn't have in stock, and they tried to get me to buy the smaller/cheaper ones instead. Fortunately I convinced the manager to sell me the display unit at a discounted price (turns out it was missing parts too.) The prices on ALL of the pressure washers were wrong, it took about 45 minutes to get an employee to get another employee, who in turn had to get another employee to help me find the right pressure washer. I would have spent another $150-$200 on gloves, but they did not have ANY of the right material gloves in stock for men, and were unwilling to check to see if they had any backstock. The ONLY reason I give 2 stars is because the lot guy (the only 18-20 year old guy I saw at the store) was more than willing to help me load everything in my truck after I asked him on my first visit, and when he recognized me upon my return he again offered to help. For such a big business you would think that there would be more than ONE helpful employee in the whole building...

I have always loved this Rural King!! but today I bought two under Armour outfits for my…read moregrandchildren, brake fluid and grease for my fittings on my zero turn and a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. I didn't notice until I got to my house that the girl put my under Armour outfits, which were off-white and gray in the bucket with my brake fluid and my grease tube, the outfits were not in a sack. If there had been one smudge of crap on those outfits they would've went back with for once acting like a karen! I can't believe she threw that in there I usually don't get upset, but when I saw this I thought how stupid! Ok, I had my karen moment.

They are not Lowes or Menards. Their prices are sometimes high, but they don't sell cheap gear. I wished they'd sell lumber and plants, but maybe it's better that they don't. They get five stars for being the best HARDWARE store in the area. You don't have to buy a huge blister pack to get just one or two of an item. Their clerks know what they have, and it's a good idea to ask them. They sometimes have better alternatives in mind, and their selection is vast for the size store they operate; they can save you a lot of time, unlike the big box stores, where there are no real specialists except the Big Item sales people. That was enough to make me stop shopping there, and I have. I refuse to support any business that feels like they have to get involved at that level, especially when it comes to denying women rights. I stopped back in recently because I needed a large sewing needle, and I just did't feel like making another trip somewhere. I was on the east side, and Hobby Lobby was there. The good news is they seem to have more employees available on the floor than they used to. The bad news is that you'll find an employee before you ever find what you're looking for. There are NO aisle markers at all to tell you what's in there. You might do a complete loop of the store and pass by the thing you're trying to find. So - 2 stars for ugly politics and -1 for no aisle signs. It's a craft store. Make some!

First trip I bought 6 drinks and laundry soap for $10. Second trip was cigarettes at a hefty price of $5.97 but I don't know if that is normal for Indiana or not. We usually buy cigarettes in Missouri when we come up here, we were just a day short. Considering CVS is 0.6 miles and this place is like 0.1, honestly I would walk here instead of CVS in the summer. I only gave it 3 stars because they aren't too friendly and the prices are a bit expensive but it won't deter me from getting there and back to my room in ~5 minutes.
