I have always loved this Rural King!! but today I bought two under Armour outfits for my grandchildren, brake fluid and grease for my fittings on my zero turn and a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. I didn't notice until I got to my house that the girl put my under Armour outfits, which were off-white and gray in the bucket with my brake fluid and my grease tube, the outfits were not in a sack. If there had been one smudge of crap on those outfits they would've went back with for once acting like a karen! The only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1 is because they had the dog food I needed. The customer service was non-existent. When I entered the checkout line I couldn't even get a "hello" and hardly got the cashier to tell me my total. I had to ask if I could give my number for rewards instead of being prompted while she talked to every other worker instead of me. At this point just make it self checkout. Don't expect much if you decide to shop here. read more

Rural King is one of my favorite stores to shop. Some of my hobby's are gardening, chickens and firearms. Rural King has all you would need and more for these hobby's. I also like their clothing selection as well. They also sell guns and ammo and they are supporters of the second amendment which I love. Their prices are always reasonable and their staff is always friendly and well trained. The store is clean and well stocked. They also give costumers free popcorn which is very tasty. it's a great place for animal food supply, yard equipment, farm supplies, guns, tools etc. I go there to get my guns and animal food and supplies usually. customer service is good cashiers are kind, they always have cats able for adoption, and bunny's able for adoption. This store has hit rock bottom. Customer service is unwilling to help over the phone. I just called up there to check to make sure the part I needed was in stock. I had the part number & the SKU number. The girl in customer service was unwilling to look it up on the computer for me. The store is absolutely filthy. Not only does the large group stand at the front chatting but they now have an "official" popcorn guard that scowls at people if they make a mistake in popcorn etiquette ! How much does this negative free popcorn cost when you station the employee popcorn guard to watch it??? Looking for combine parts and also asked an employee... My husband and I previously loved going in here, but have been avoiding that place like the plague now. Every time we go into Rural King there are never any customer service people around. It seems like there is a big group of them always standing around having a good time chit chatting. Forget about asking anyone a question, they are all just a bunch of teenagers that have no knowledge of what any of their products are. This way Rural King can pay minimum wage to a bunch of people that don't care about their job. I recently went in to find a covered mineral feeder and had a girl tell me, "I'm not really sure what you are talking about, I didn't grow up on a farm.". WTF!? #1 you don't say something like that to customers! #2 did you not do something called training?? So needless to say, we will be going elsewhere! read more

I just left this store a little while ago and am still upset about the lack of masks and social distancing in the store. It seemed employees were more concerned with selling credit cards than making sure their customers were safe. A nice salesperson asked if I was interested in a card while I was standing against an end cap keeping my children away from other customers. I asked why there were so many customers with masks, the associate was shocked and asked where? I pointed to 4 people in our vicinity, 2 of them she was just talking to. Why is this allowed when it is state mandated to wear a mask? There was no enforcement to keep customers safe and totally unacceptable. The store needs to follow the state and CDC guidelines. I will never return to the store and if you value your health or your family's go elsewhere. read more

Spent over $1,000 on materials and equipment for a job we had in Terre Haute. Went back to Rural King 3 times within an hour and a half and had HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVERY TIME I WENT. I had a plethora of things I needed and asked one of the girls that was socializing up front for help, she responded with using her finger to point in the direction of where to find what I needed. Tried to get another person to help and she too responded with a pointer finger. I ended up pushing two carts by myself on one trip and not a single person offered help. I don't think that's too much to expect from a store like this as Lowes, Menards, and Home Depot are always willing. I also was looking to purchase 2 of the biggest/most expensive shop vacs that rural king has to offer, which they didn't have in stock, and they tried to get me to buy the smaller/cheaper ones instead. Fortunately I convinced the manager to sell me the display unit at a discounted price (turns out it was missing parts too.) The prices on ALL of the pressure washers were wrong, it took about 45 minutes to get an employee to get another employee, who in turn had to get another employee to help me find the right pressure washer. I would have spent another $150-$200 on gloves, but they did not have ANY of the right material gloves in stock for men, and were unwilling to check to see if they had any backstock. The ONLY reason I give 2 stars is because the lot guy (the only 18-20 year old guy I saw at the store) was more than willing to help me load everything in my truck after I asked him on my first visit, and when he recognized me upon my return he again offered to help. For such a big business you would think that there would be more than ONE helpful employee in the whole building... read more

Service is slipping here. The cash registers are down a lot. Seems harder to get help than it used to be. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Still my go to for most farm needs. I have dropped their country roads feed line and now go the Graham. My animals had started looking haggard and perked up when I switched. read more

Horrible firearms sevice. Applied for handgun, and got delayed as I always do for some reason. They had called me 4 days later saying I was proceeded, and to come down to pick it up. I go there to pick it up, and they had lost my whole file. They couldn't give me a reason except that maybe it got thrown away. They said I would have to fill out another and do the process over again. Should have went with my gut, and just left, but I was feeling hopeful. I applied once again, and call back 4 days later to check my status. Once again they cannot find my file anywhere. This is unheard of at every other gunshop I have talked to, and ATF couldn't even fathom it. Needless to say I am done woth Rual Kings firearms department, and in my opinion maybe they should be too until they can get a little more training on how to sell firearms. This is all my expericene with just a couple people behind the counter. Im not bashing Rual King as a whole because they are a good farm store, just not so much with the guns. Ill just stick to the small local gun shops from now on. read more

Alway loved the products and location. In today's world it seens you can't find anyone who really is interrested in their job. I have stopped and called the store for assistance. Guess I will have to go to their competitors. Really did't want to. Please train your associates better. There is one or two associates that care but the others are just taking up space. Just don't want to see Rural King go out of business in this location. You really need to come up with a plan to improve knowledge and service for this store. read more

Went to the firearms desk and wanted to look at Taurus PT638 and told the young man working there I was planning on getting a PT111 G2 and he said "planning to get one" In a sarcastic tone and told me he did not like Taurus and quality was not the best, insinuating if you don't spend 500 or more on a gun it is junk . I get that, like I didn't know what I was talking about , so I bought nothing there and don't intend to so good job "sales guy". read more
