After seeing review after review on OFL, I suggested we stop here while driving through Fremont…read more The inside threw me off a bit. There's a massive bar and digital menus that were hard to read. It's fast-casual style, so you order at the counter, which I wasn't expecting given how many menu options there were. I ordered the BBQ burger, a Monster Cookie shake, and a mix of sidewinders and potato barrels. The clear standout was the potato barrels--basically cheesy, bacon-topped hash brown tater tots, and so good. The rest was a bit underwhelming considering the hype. I was expecting the shake to be an actual monster cookie flavor (oats, PB, M&Ms, etc.), but it ended up being a Cookie Monster theme with Oreo. The burger was politely... nothing special. I get the appeal--especially for families--but I was hoping for a bit more based on what I'd seen online.

The guy waiting on us is very friendly and answered all of our questions in regards to food and drinks. Decent amount of beer on tap, and I love that they had the outdoor patio area outback. We went with the cheese dip and salsa appetizer, but in my opinion, it is a very small portion of cheese dip for the price. He did hook us up with a couple extra sides of salsa (condiment size), but I was not impressed with the price versus portion. Unfortunately, my Philly cheesesteak was a little overcooked which made the meat dry, but I tried my son's wrap and my husband sandwich too. They both tasted phenomenal. Next time I'm gonna have to make sure and try the wings because I kept hearing how awesome they were.

My fried chicken sandwich with ham and bacon (can't remember the name) was on point! The sandwich was hide, and my side salad was decently sized as well. I had the Guatemalan enchilada which was refreshingly different. A lovely fried corn tortilla on the bottom, topped with a lettuce, leaf, fresh cabbage and just a hint of red beets. A little beef, and sprinkled with cotija cheese. A little green hot salsa came on the side, which spiced it up and tasted delicious. If you enjoy cabbage, this was a nice mixup. For dessert we had the fried plantains in a sweet syrup. Just what I was hoping for. Great job Guatemala!! (and hats off to our knowledgeable, and sweet Hondorian server).

This is a MUST TRY kinda place if you find yourself anywhere close to Woodcliff Lake. Being that it was our first visiting here, our server Ainsley was very patient with us and gave us time to look over the menu. We both opted for the house salad to start. Very good!! Being that it was Thursday and every Thursday is burger night, we both ordered the house special the " I dip, you dip, we French dip". It's an all beef burger topped with roast beef , grilled onions and Swiss cheese. Served with a your choice of sides and a bowl of as Au Jus . I'm going to go out on a limb here and honestly say that I cannot remember a time that I had a better burger than this. It wasn't all the French dip toppings that made it so memorable, it was the beef patty that was cooked and seasoned to perfection. This lends us to believe that all their burgers are going to be amazing. We will be going back.

Others open, change names a few times, and then fold up. I say this to highlight that having a good diner in the small city of Fremont is not an easy task. This diner has kept the spirit alive, showing that the mantle of quaint throwback eateries is still burning. Breakfast food is consistently good, the sandwiches in particular are remarkable value. Also located next to a gas station and located on the edge of town if you're passing through. The owner also possesses a rare intersection of expertise in food service and business acumen.
