EJ provided me with assurance that they could handle the scope of our project and helped me to visualize what could be done with the space. EJ provided me with a quote promptly after the initial walk-through and were able to fit me into their schedule a few weeks later. EJ's team showed up each morning on time and they were great to talk with. EJ communicated with me well every step of the way, and provided help with some of the difficulties that we ran into. The end results were stunning, even though it took a bit longer than expected (due to shipping delays for materials, which was not at all EJ's team's fault), we were still able to use our brand new kitchen for the holidays. HI Quality Construction helped to transform our mid 80s kitchen into a modern home oasis. It has helped to increase not only the value of our home, but also our quality of life each and every time we step into our home, prepare a meal, or host family and friends. I forget the movers names but they were both prompt, handled my items delicately with care, didn't take their sweet time they worked very very hard, disassembled and reassembled a near 50 year old antique silik hutch that I have inherited , they moved everything exactly where it needed to be in my new place, were very polite and respectful and did not damage anything or steal at all. I've dealt with another moving company in the past where I suspected some jewelry went missing. They are the quickest at responses, very reasonable pricing, flexible with their schedules, all in all I am very satisfied and have asked them to move another thing for me as well. 10/10 recommend. Do not use this company!!! The packers were horrible. They said they would pack and move in one…read moreday. They didn't show up until 10AM. They took a two hour lunch (that I paid for) from 12 till 2. They didn't finish until 10PM and that was only because my wife and I ended up packing 30 percent of the house ourselves. They didn't bring enough packing materials and I had to go to Home Depot and spend a hundred dollars to buy more material. They did an awful job of packing such that almost every box was crushed when we received it. They ruined a $5,000 rug and you can hear broken glass in countless boxes. Lastly, there was no accounting on delivery. A guy with a beat up trailer just showed up and unloaded as quickly as possible. We asked him for some accounting and all he said was "this is all I got." We suspect we are missing a substantial amount of our shipment. A word to the wise... use a different company.

What really sold me was their familiarity with the neighborhood I was moving into -- that local knowledge made the whole process smoother and gave me confidence right away. They coordinated with me while their team was on vacation and scheduled my move for the very next day after they returned. Alfredo took the time to speak with me directly on the phone, answered every question, and made sure everything was lined up. On move day, only half of the crew ended up being available, and without me even asking, Alfredo proactively discounted the price. That level of integrity and customer care is rare. Everything was handled efficiently and respectfully. 100 out of 100 -- I would absolutely use Making Moves again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, local movers.

You could say I have a lot of experience with movers as I inherited my father's personally woodworked furniture which added to my own collection that he made for me. I have a lot of sentimental (and heavy) stuff plus I have a herniated disc, so moving is even more overwhelming. And moving every year for so long has been so much less than ideal. I had a go-to mover but they didn't reply when I reached out so I figured I would try someone new out bc, maybe I can have options. Incredibly, Making Moves packed everything much more thoroughly and somehow the move seemed shorter...?! Even accounting for the shorter distance, this move was seriously fast but not lacking one bit in caution. And here is the kicker, it was less expensive too and the team was bigger. I still love the other mover but this team has beyond proved itself so I guess this is my first choice mover now. Treat this team right. They are in demand for a reason.

Recycling in Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. I've never been to this Redemption Center before, so Irene helped me find it. GPS took me to the side where there's no driveway. We had to go around the block to get to the entrance on Beretania Street. The driveway doesn't really have a sign. The lot is surrounded by a tall chain link fence. The worker was so kind and conversational. He apologized for not being able to pay me for the used glass from religious candles. He suggested that I take them to some industrial area. Well... if he wants to give away the decorative glass containers, he can. Maybe someone wants to use them as vases or pencil holders? Thanks for being so nice!

This is my regular recycling center. We've been drinking a lot less soda and bottled water so it's…read morebeen a while since I've been here. I don't want to give a recycling center one star since I'm such a believer in recycling and reusing things, but this was a really scary experience! A homeless man was following me around and then an Asian lady who had no front teeth tried to assault me. There seem to be a lack of green buckets, which is where you have to separate your recycling materials. The people there were hoarding all the green buckets. Literally, the lady who tried to assault me had five or six buckets and then cursed at me as I walked by. I didn't feel safe here. Sad because I've been here several times over the past years. I won't come back.

Moved here from Extra Space Storage on Kalakaua because rent was going up. I was able to find a…read moreunit that was $200 cheaper! Thank you, Ashleigh for helping me get a unit! This location is super conveniently located and the facilities were always clean and well-kept. I really liked the 24 hr access so I could pick things up/ drop things off after hours and not deal with traffic. Parking is tight, but as long as you avoid the weekday mornings, it's no problem finding a spot. Highly recommend this location and Hawaii Self Storage as a whole!
