I was so skeptical about this place because of the bad reviews. And when I'm hungry, I don't want bad service or mediocre food. I was even making a drive from Newport Beach at the end of my day. So we were supposed to meet at the restaurant at 7pm there's 10 of us. To make the reservation I called them and straight up asked the employee about the food and service. He was quite honest and said, "I've only been here for two months and we have many regulars". So i thought, well if there's regulars and the employee was honest about his inexperience at the restaurant, it might live up to the standard of the delicious looking pictures. Indeed it was pretty freaking good. The service was top notch. Sure the people don't speak English very well so that might explain their shyness which can be interpreted as being rude or mean as said in the other reviews. But I thought they were very nice people. The food though. Omg the food. I had the shirazi salad which was so fresh. I had the yogurt beverage which was also fresh and delicious. The tahdig was better than other Persian places I've been to in the past. The lamb shank was out of this world. It was cooked perfectly and the polo that came with it was fluffy and herby. Persian cuisine is one of my favorite cuisine. And its not just Kebabs that they serve, they serve all kinds if different varieties of rice dishes, sabji dishes etc. They have a really nice lunch menu with decent prices and amazing portion sizes. The place is very quite during lunches. I have not been for dinner at that place, but judging from the looks it seemed the place had belly dancing on some days cause I saw a little stage area with a turn table and also some huge speakers. The owner is very nice and quite guy. It almost felt that he was shy. But in no means he was rude or anything. Their customer service is very nice and they would get you anything you require within their limits even you keep on asking them. And always they have a smile. I Love Persian food, and was in the mood for some good hummus, Kebab, and Lamb Shank. We were in the area and saw the great ratings for Rumi's. Looked over the menu, and it had everything we wanted. Went there for lunch, and boy were we disappointed. There are about a dozen tables in the restaurant, and about 5 were occupied. We were seated promptly, and the "waitress"(say that with quotes because she didn't seem like she wanted to be there, took our order. That is end of the positive experience. We got our drinks and hummus very quickly, and then we never saw anyone for the next 15 minutes. Finally a gentlemen came by and took our order. In between waiting for our food, nobody ever came by to refill our drinks, or check on us. The only thing the "waitress" was on top of was clearing tables. The food was pretty tasteless for Persian food, the Kebab(Filet Mignon) was cooked correctly, but pretty bland, and he portion of rice even for a half serving filled the plate. We also had the lamb shank in sauce. The lamb shank was tender, but the sauce was like a thin thin tomato sauce with a layer of grease. All while the patrons of the restaurant were eating, the gentlemen and "waitress" spent their entire time behind the counter. Never coming to check on anyone, never refilling beverages, never asking if anything was okay. When I went to pay my bill the gentlemen was on his personal phone, took my money, never a thank you, never a how was everything. Been going to this Persian place for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else; their meal packages are priced just right and owners are very nice. I'd recommend Chicken or Beef koubideh. Rumi's Persian Restaurant is an excellent place for enjoying a great Persian meal. Located in a Corona mini mall, it is easy to miss if you're not looking, but believe me it's worth the visit. The restaurant itself is not very full or busy, both times we have come there has been no more then two other parties eating. The restaurant is clean and seating is perfect for small or large parties, with either tables or booths available. The staff is quick to seat you and it seems like it's a husband/wife team that we interacted with every time. Both are very hospitable and friendly. The menu is catered to the time of day, both visits were for lunch so we were able to only see the meals offered for this time period. During my first visit, I ordered the Beef and Chicken Koobideh and during the second visit ordered the Chicken Kabob Plate which consisted of a well prepared mix of Chicken, Tomatoes, Onions and Bell Peppers. As a side I requested the Chicken Koobideh Skewer, which I felt the side to be quite pricey at $6 (a lunch plate of Chicken Koobideh with rice and tomato runs $8.99) but the quality was worth the price. All the dishes come with a good portion of rice and onions, with makes finishing your meal a challenge. It's worth mentioning that they do have a Free Appetizer if you check in on Yelp, just show it and they will offer you either an order of Hummus or Maust. The only concern we had during both visits was in requesting condiments, after a while we felt like the staff had given up on us, otherwise they do a decent job of checking in on your table. Rumi's Persian Restaurant is a well priced lunch experience, worth the visit if you are in the Corona or Inland Empire and want something different from the saturated Mediterranean restaurants that are taking over the area. read more

Yet again, everything is relative. This is one of two persian restaurants in the area so yelpers gave it 4 stars. We tried the chicken koobideh, the beef koobideh, the barg, the lamb shank the must musir and the dolmeh. The dolmeh had some powdery and tasteless substance which I didn't recognize. No taste. The must musir was actually pretty good, the only good item. The chicken and beef koobideh were dry, chewy and pretty bland. More to cook, at least put some butter at the end of the grilling process. The barg was akin to a beef jerky, only without any taste. The lamb disk was in a watery broth not sure where they were going with this recipe. And they didn't put tadig with geymeh in our bag but let's cusp that up to an error. No, I would never go back to this place. read more

Finally there's a fantastic Persian restaurant in Inland Empire. The owner and his family are friendly. Service was fast and super clean. I tried all the meat, they are juicy, tender, fully marinated and well seasoned. The basmati rice comes out fluffy and fragrant. Bread is super thin and light. Rumi's moved into our neighborhood several years ago. And our first visit was when they were still new. Honestly, it did not impress....at that time. We have driven by hundreds of time since, and never been tempted. But, thankfully, it managed to do quite well without our business. So, fye on me! But I did come back. And I am glad I did. The first clue that I was missing out were all the nice reviews. Yelpers were trying to tell me. The interior was my second clue. This time the little Persian palace was looking quite good, obviously updated, successful. A larger dining room, tastefully decorated, live music, even table clothes and little flower arrangements on each table. Doing quite well for surviving the Great Recession? A far cry from the plastic silverware of the early days. The menu was interesting and complex. It featured more items, some not so common. The intrigue was killing me. Mr. B ordered the Cornish game hen. Tender little baby chicken pieces, laid out elegantly on a bed of rice, happily, deliciously marinaded to allow for some burnt grilled outsides but tender inside. At last. Someone who knows how to cook poultry. The simple salad with a lemony dressing and the grilled whole tomato made this a completely satisfying meal. Mr. B loved it, and this coming from a guy who mostly detests chicken. My dish was exotic. Can you believe it...a Corona restaurant that serves Fesenjen? Might I hope that Corona has finally arrived? Fesenjen is gently stewed chicken served with a pomegranate and walnut sauce. The sauce is deep red, tangy from the pomegranate, thick and sweet. And then there is that "je ne sais pas" that is actually the ground walnut. Amazing dish when done well. And this one was. Served with rice. Thank you Rumi's for the offering. The final touch was their perfect Persian ice cream. A huge serving of the most creamy ice cream, filled with large chunks of pistachios and flavored with saffron and rose water. Honestly it was enough for two, but this one was so delicious, I could have polished it off myself. Wait. I think I did, come to think of it. I wish I had remembered to take more than one picture. I was into some serious munching before I realized what I had done. And no one wants to see a ravaged plate. And well, our waiter was not a warm fuzzy kinda guy. But you know what? We found this restaurant on Yelp and wanted to give it a try and so glad we did. There were 3 of us and we all ordered the Juicy Chicken Kabob. When the food came out it looked really good and was a generous portion. I took my first bite and was hooked right away. This is the juiciest and most flavorful chicken I've ever had. I watched the other two take their first bite and instantly their faces lit up and they said the same thing I was thinking, this food is amazing. Two friends and I met at Rumi's for a postponed Christmas get together. This was our first time here. One friend is a vegan, and the other is on a keto diet. We arrived a little after 1pm on a Thursday, towards the end of the lunch rush. The service was great! The staff worked with my vegan friend's dietary requirements, and pointed out the dishes that could be made vegan. I ended up ordering the following, as my tummy was still recovering from being ill over the holidays: Maust Khiar / Yogurt With Chopped Cucumber, Barley Soup, and a side of basmati saffron rice. My vegan friend had the following: Vegetarian Ghormeh Sabzi / Spinach & Kidney Beans Stew, Sautéed Mushrooms, and Baklava for dessert. My keto friend had the following: Beef Koobideh skewer and a side of Rumi's Salad, and Baklava for dessert. We all had hot Persian Black Tea. We were served a basket of lavash bread. I also ordered to go Filet Mignon Shish Kabob for my husband. We all enjoyed our meal. My friends tried some of all of the dishes. I ate the Maust Khiar with a spoon instead of using it as a dip, and it was absolutely wonderful! The flavors were perfect. My soup was incredible. I told my friends that next time I get sick, I'll have them come and get me some of that soup! I also enjoyed the rice. My friends both enjoyed their lunches. Both the manager and server made sure to keep our hot tea glasses filled. It was also very reasonably priced as well. We enjoyed ourselves immensely! I ended up taking most of the rice home for dinner and possibly lunch tomorrow. My husband was also very happy with his meal. We will be back! There are so many different items on the menu I want to try next time. It is hard to find a restaurant that can meet our diverse dietary needs Rumi's fits the bill! Once again a delicious meal from Rumi's! After everyone got "vaxxed up" we celebrated by having relatives we hadn't seen in person for over a year come for dinner. We ordered Rumi's take out and dined "al fresco" on our back patio. Our company was overjoyed with their meals and the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I've been a loyal customer for the past 4 years. I even posted a 5 star review years ago. Sadly after today I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. I ordered food and the meat was either undercooked or burnt. We called the store and spoke with them saying that we were especially concerned with the undercooked meat. They said no it's not possible. I have attached pics. You can see the undercooked meat with purple tinge along with the burned kababs. we got takeaway last night. rice, chkn and beef kabob's. on their website price is $50 but they charged $60. The attendent was so rude and denied completely that it's not their website.. My family has been eating here for about 7 years and I always forget to do a review for them because we are so eager to just jump into the food. We normally just order the Rumi's Package #1 that feeds up to 4 people. It includes 3 skewers of chicken, 3 skewers of beef, boneless chicken, tons of rice, and some flat bread. They do give you sumac seasoning packets but you have to ask for extra because two is not enough. The food is always made fresh and the flavor of the food is indescribable. The meat is tender, moist, and full of flavor. I love how they grill the whole tomatoes. The rice is light and fluffy so you feel like eating more and more. The sumac seasoning gives a little extra kick of flavor. My mouth is watering up just thinking about it. Anyhow, the packages are so worth every penny and we have never been disappointed with the food. I hope and pray that Rumi's stay in business forever and will strive during COVID. read more

I've been coming here since we moved to the Corona Area. All my friends and family from LA come to order food here (1 hour+ drive) Since Covid started, we have not stopped supporting this small business. I'm so mad at the attitude my husband got from the older man today. If you've been here you know exactly who I'm talking about. My husband asked for an extra hot sauce and the older man got very upset. He said it was only 1 per order. The waitresses always give me more when I ask. Mind you, look at how small they are. Not even all the way up. Everyone else is so nice, but this man has negative vibes. I hope you guys don't encounter him.
