I registered for their Elements classes with Jordan and absolutely LOVED every minute of it! All of the coaches at CFFC are extremely knowledgeable and patient. They take the time to teach proper form for every movement to help avoid injury, but they know how and when to push you to reach your full potential and make progress. After completing Elements I purchased a monthly membership (which includes yoga and various workshops, as well as the opportunity to take classes at their sister gym, CrossFit Adaptation in Shirlington), and promptly cancelled my "traditional" health club membership -- no more treadmill for me! The gym is clean, full of a variety of equipment, and reasonably priced (compared to many other CrossFit gyms in the DC area). They offer a ton of classes each day (from 5:30am to 7:30pm) and there is a real sense of community among the members. I am always amazed at the variety of CrossFitters in each class -- all ages and all skill levels, all shapes and sizes. Thanks to Linsey and all of the other CFFC coaches, I can honestly say I look forward to each workout and I am actually a bit sad when my body tells me to take a rest day. I have enjoyed my time at CFFC so much that I purchased another Groupon for my husband -- he just finished Elements and is hooked!

Linsey is great, she's a good coach and helps me figure out what in the world I'm supposed to be doing (lifting what, how???). There are enough athletes at every level to give you something to aspire to. The coaches are approachable and programming never gets boring. There are sometimes time-caps but they are not strictly enforced if you want to go beyond them. There are areas in the back to do stretching and finish up if you want to. You can also do your own work out there if you don't want to do the class (needs 24/7 access level.) I love the Sunday workout. It is usually more cardio, a bit more relaxed, usually almost full, and everyone just having a great time during and after the exhausting workout. CrossFit Fairfax is truly the church of my family - just a great group of coaches and athletes united in a desire to get and stay physically and mentally healthy. CrossFit Fairfax is very reasonably priced for the area with family and military discounts. There is a 24/7 option that gives you access to the gym anytime on your own ($15/mo extra.)

Fantastic box, Amazing coaches, large space, and challenging Workout Of the Day…read more The coaches are fantastic. Jeff and Julie are amongst the best crossfit coaches I've ever had the opportunity to train with. They break down each movement down to its most simple step in order to ensure you complete the movement correctly, helping prevent injury and making you stronger. There are always 2 coaches in every class I've attended, sometimes 3 coaches; this gives you a lot of one on one attention! The box is big with loads of space. When class has a lot of people you still do not feel "crowded." They have a good number of bars at all levels (45, 35, and even 25lbs). The plates are in good shape and in the first 2 months there I've seen new ones come in. Plenty of rack space. Oh and a nice stretch mat! The other athletes are pretty cool people. There are some serious athletes at this box but there are also plenty of regular people and even some children. You decide how hard you want to go. There is no judging or intimidation but lots of POSITIVE reenforcement. I love the 2 "big ass fan" helping keep the place cool. Give this place a try regardless of you experience level.

The bathrooms and locker rooms are well-designed and clean, and the co-ed sauna and steam room are a major plus. The filtered water stations are always cold and well-maintained, and the smoothie bar is convenient. The reception staff are always friendly! SweatBox is intense, well-structured, and thoughtfully run. The music and variety keep me coming back. Providing ear plugs and cold eucalyptus towels are the many small touches that go a long way during this high-energy HIIT workout. Coach Gwen and Coach Mike are excellent instructors -- clear, motivating, and attentive to form. There are 3 other class studios and dozens of more fitness classes. I have enjoyed the yoga classes, especially Restorative and Deep Stretch. Chris also runs a great BodyPump class -- strong pacing and consistent energy. Overall, VIDA Ballston combines diverse programming with quality facilities and good service. Yes things break or require maintenance, but the team is constantly communicating this and working to upkeep their facility. Highly recommend!

They have a wide variety of gym equipment and weight, squat racks, etc. they also offer personal training, which I have met a few of the trainers who are super nice and welcoming. It's great to workout at a gym where you are welcomed and get to know the front desk and staff. Overall, would highly recommend.

The coaches are so positive and motivating, as well as thorough in their pre workout demonstrations and make those small corrections in our movements that make all the difference in our results and the burnnn! The HIIT circuits are setup so nicely, flowing through about 10 different stations and leaving the whole body worked by the end of the class. These classes are pretty solid for building muscle but you're not going to get huge or insanely strong with this style of workout. This will be more for toning muscle/athletic build as well as gaining functionality and work capacity. It's nice that it's all based on time rather than numbers so everybody can go at their own pace. However, if you really want to push yourself as hard as possible, then I'd say this targets the heart and lungs more than anything, and health is what it's really all about. This is even true in the resistance classes, which you always leave with a serious pump. The weights you're using aren't as heavy as CrossFit which mostly allows for you to push yourself in a safer and higher paced manner and there's more variance in exercises and movements than Orange Theory without the concern of running injuries so while all of the big name HIIT enterprises have some advantages, I believe F45 is the best because it has the most well-rounded diverse stimulus mentally and physically and therefore has the most potentially for truly being "in-shape", healthy, functional, and athletic because you're more motivated to consistently train hard and allowed to do so while staying injury free. If I have to knock it I'd say that some of the exercises are more body building oriented (fly's and curls) than I'd like, but most are also performance based. I will also admit, if this were my only training then I'd definitely like to have heavier weights on resistance days because those end up mostly being muscle endurance for me (which ultimately is more important than raw strength if I'm forced to choose). I'd also appreciate a little more sprinting but I know that greatly increases the injury risk so I understand the omission there. Also if there was more space, I would love to incorporate something more explosive like med ball throws and rope climbs. All in all though, considering the energy in there, the results you'll get from start to finish only sacrificing 45 minutes to make the rest of your day better, and possibly even have another little social outlet, this place is great!

To say the least, I came in with trepidation of hurting myself and many doubts on my ability to 'keep up'. What I have learnt is the CrossFit is infintesimally scalable and the fact that all levels of people do the same workout feels rewarding and challenging at the same time. I have met beginners like me, veterans who fist-bump me at the end of class with an encouraging word of 'great workout', and amazing coaches who care. The gym is special - and what makes it special is the people. I have had 'WOD- workout of the day' classes with 9 different coaches over the last 3 months. Each one of them has a beautiful smile, an infectious positive energy, and serious coaching chops. The coaches are amazing at guidance, scaling the workouts to match my abilities, and watch over my technique and perfectly balance the push/pull of challenging me without leaving me dejected. I still begrudgingly (lazily) walk in the the box, but I know that all I have to do is show up - and I am in good hands. I always walk out suffering a bit and looking dead, but by the time I get home I feel proud of my achievement that day. Thanks to the folks at CRF7 for being my guides on the journey of building health, fitness and fulfillment. The learning curve 'seems' steep but with a lot of guidance and consistent attendance I am already seeing positive impacts on my health and mental well-being.
