I've gotten coffee, macaroons, gelato, everything from here and they never disappoint. It's always a great time, especially meeting friends or just grabbing some good sips on the go. I had a gelato with one scoop of this raspberry sorbet and another scoop mango, I loved the fruitiness and texture. It's a bit pricey which knocks down a star, but otherwise a lifelong favorite. P.S. I love the parking and that ITS FREE.

As we weren't sure what our lunch plans were, so we loaded up on 5 beautiful pastries, and got a variety, including their cinnamon roll, their ham and cheese croissant, an Ispahan croissant and an iced coffee topped off with a hot London fog. They were out of the butter almond croissant, so the worker kindly came over to our table and said I could pick something else. I ended up going with the cinnamon roll as I wanted to balance my savory ham and cheese croissant with something sweet. Wow, it is good! They add this extra sugarcoat glaze on the top that makes all the pastries shine, which I thought was an extra special touch that they made an effort to make the pastries extra beautiful. Because we ordered five pastries, it came in this really cute little white and black ribboned pastry box! Knowing they only have 18 pastries-and at 11 AM realizing they were out of most of them, no wonder they got voted best pastries in the Twin Cities! Since I am somewhat of a bakery connoisseur, I always judge their pastries off their ham and cheese croissant as it is one of my absolute favorites I get every chance I get. This bakery ham and cheese croissant had a good ratio of ham and cheese to the size the pastry. It was quite large and I realized I didn't even have room for the cinnamon roll. However, I've had flakier lighter crispy croissants at my hometown bakery, and I would have liked it to be a tad lighter between layers and less bread doughy as you can see in the pictures. Nonetheless, I ate the entire thing! Proving it was still delicious. This is definitely a place you should stop by if you're ever in the area, but make sure you get here early if you want all the variety! Bonus, as we were coming out, the bakers brought out this 3ft custard dough ball caramel glue structure out for a customers wedding cake. What I once knew as a tiny, cozy shop has expanded into an entire new section directly behind the original space allowing for more guests to visit. This is fantastic! I know the original owners of Cafe Astoria have stepped down, yet I'm pleased to say under the new ownership that many of the original decor and items remain the same from awhile back. The biggest transformations are the larger space, added painted mural, flexible ordering system where you can now order from a QR code at your table or walk up the register, expanded menu that includes brunch all day and items such as breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast. What went from a small crepe and specialty coffeehouse has truly grown. Don't worry the crepes and coffees are all still on the menu. They are now in a quiet area of businesses in the Harriet Island area, which happens to have lots of nice areas to stroll. This is a shop that sells artisan chocolate and honey. They're super proud of their honey and even invited me to check out the buzzing bee boxes out back! This is good honey; I don't have pure honey too often but this is very sweet stuff. The chocolate bonbons filled with honey are great, perfect blend of the two. You can also get chocolate-drizzled honeycomb which is quite intense and is ideally experienced shmushed onto some toast or creatively combined with something somehow, but it is a good idea to do something like that. And they have chocolate that isn't about honey but is interesting, artisan stuff! And you can sample a whole bunch of the flavors! Get bars of the ones you like or maybe do what I did and buy a mixed bag of little pieces and bring them to a party and let people guess what the flavors are.
