The first time I came in was to get some info about what they had to offer and I met Scott, who was extremely friendly and helpful. He did not pressure me at all, which is what I prefer, especially when I consider my experiences with your typical gyms. He gave me the info I need and told me to come back when I'm ready. One thing he mentioned was the Introduction to Crossfit two week program that teaches you the basics of Crossfit, all for free. The "box" is one of the nicer ones I've seen and they have plenty of equipment for the various workouts they conduct. They keep it clean, but it has a little wear and tear, which I like to call character. It tells me that people use the facility and plenty of sweat has been broken here. One cool thing I like is that they have a kids area so parents can get in a workout and not have to get a babysitter. This is critical because kids can be an anchor or an excuse for not exercising. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the kiddos, but this day in age it's a hard balance. By having the kids area it helps alleviate that problem and/or excuse. From the research I've done the prices for their various membership programs are competitive to higher priced, but I think you'll get your money's worth no matter what you decide to do. Speaking of, they have lots of options from punchcards to a yearly plan and savings for families and college students. Make sure you check them out: http://crossfitdurable.com/monthly-membership/ I'm still trying to figure if I'm going to jump in, but the free community workouts have given me some motivation and something to think about. My only concern is how many tribal tattoos will I come away with ;)

I had tried "Crossfit" before coming here as a member and I cannot say I was a huge fan. The…read moreenvironment in the other Crossfit boxes I had been to were always uninviting and downright stressful because of the competitive culture. When I came to Crossfit Durable for the first time there was an IMMEDIATE difference. Everyone wants to help! Everyone is on their own personal fitness journey! And everyone is coming from all different experience levels! -- it was exactly what I needed. The environment and the people make such a difference in my work out experience. They motivate me to do beyond which I had already mastered and not focus on competing with each other but rather competing with your self. Always trying to beat who you were yesterday. Crossfit Durable changes the game and I play a better game because of it.
