First I'd like to say I've been coming here for almost a year and until recently I would have continued to recommend them. I did not have any problems with them until the last 3 to 4 months and they have done great cuts. Incident number one occurred a few months ago when I had an appointment for 3 o'clock on a Friday afternoon which is my normal time. I got stuck in Youngsville traffic, sitting at the gas station light for almost 10 minutes which made me arrive at the establishment at 3 o'clock on the dot. Because of Covid they require you to call when you arrive and then they will meet you at the door. So I kept calling and calling and it was busy, I could also see three other people standing outside and no one had come to the door. So I just kept calling until finally I saw someone come to the door so I hopped out of my truck to confirm I was there with Teddy. By then it was almost 3:15. My groomer apparently, Jimmy beach, was standing inside waiting on me. When he came outside he was very frustrated that I was late and I proceeded to explain why I was late and he started yelling at me because I said a cuss word about the damn traffic Or something similar but I did not cuss at him I was cussing at the traffic. We proceeded to stand on the sidewalk and argue with one another about what I should have done. At this time the store owner arrives, apologizes for the way I was being treated, and offers to cut my dog because I told them I felt uncomfortable about them cutting my dog after being treated this way. I was really shocked at the entire situation because Jimmy was the same groomer I had used all along. I chalked it all up to just a bad day and moved on because the owner was so understanding and they did always do good job cutting Teddy so I decided I'd go back and choose a different groomer. This leads me to incident number two -- which will be the reason I will not return. The past three days my dog has developed a severe ear infection which he has never had before. His last grooming was approximately four weeks ago and his next grooming was in two weeks from the time I write this post. I am currently leaving my vets office with a $100 bill because of an ear infection. According to my vet, this was caused from his inner ear hairs not being properly plucked for months. He explained to me that with the length of the hair and thickness that was in his ears there's no way that they had been recently plucked in months. I will take some ownership for not checking his ears to see if there was hair in them and having confidence that I was receiving the service I was paying for by my groomers. Yes, as my dogs provider it is my responsibility to ensure he is being taken care of but when you pay $75 for someone to take care of those needs, you expect it to be done. This is why my dog will not return to Ruff Cuts because I can't trust them to do the job that I am paying them to do.

We were customers here for a few months but stopped going, only because it was an inconvenient drive from where we live. Gave a few tries with a different groomer and our dog ended up developing a new, rather severe anxiety with the grooming process. We decided a positive experience for our dog was worth the extra drive and came back to Ruff Cuts. The staff here is always so friendly, and this is the best cut our dog has had since we'd left. They're super sweet to him here and helped him through his anxiety.. seeing his reaction after a visit at Ruff Cuts vs the last place was night and day, major change. Highly recommend.

My neighbors use Blissful Paws and recommended. We contacted and u fortunately Gov Cooper had issued a close executive order for any non essential businesses due to COVID-19. I did reach out via email and received a quick response that once essential businesses were allowed to open, Boomer would be placed in the rotation. We weren't sure just how long that was going to be, so we attempted to groom Boomers long 3" hair ourselves..not bad, but def not professional. Received a text that a Blissful Paws was okay to start working again,,,,Yay!! Boomer has had spa day twice and he looks awesome each time,,,she does a wonderful job...is friendly, courteous, and knows what she's doing! We feel very very fortunate that our neighbors shared Blissful Paws with us! Highly recommend!!!

According to their policy it stated that they needed 24 hours to modify an appointment. Ok great noted. But when I rescheduled within 24 hours they said they were still going to charge my card for the fee. I could understand if 1) it was not within the window or had happened before (which it has not). For the staff to then decide it needed to be 2 days notice is the problem. No wonder they can't keep employees on staff, they never have the same ones whenever we go, They always quit. Not to mention our dog hates this place as well. Avoid if possible. Can't recommend. Update :Not only do I show up for my scheduled appointment but they REFUSED to see my dog when I rearranged my schedule to make the apt that they were "charging" me for. Absolutely do NOT go see this girl she is the worst with grooming and cut my dog last time my dog had her! The owner is negligent and refusing any acknowledgment of the is situation.

If there are staffing challenges or delays, it would be helpful to let customers know upfront and give them the option to reschedule or adjust their plans accordingly. I had a grooming appointment for my dog at 1:00 PM on 8/4. Normally, the service takes about 1.5 hours, so when I hadn't received a call by 3:00 PM, I stopped by Dirty Dog to check in. I was told they were short a groomer and it would be another 45 minutes. I returned home and received a call at 3:56 PM saying my dog would be ready in 10 minutes. However, when I arrived, my dog was still not ready. I spoke with the manager, who explained they were short-staffed due to a personal emergency. While I understand things happen, there was no apology or effort to acknowledge the inconvenience. Initially, she said she couldn't assist because she had to handle payroll, which added to the frustration. Eventually, she offered a 10% credit, which I appreciated, but the overall experience left me disappointed. With better communication and a little more empathy, this could've been a much more positive experience.
