Called Larry on the phone and was given a warm welcome to stop by and train. Stopped by for their 5:30pm adult BJJ class which was proceeded by their kids class. You know it's going to be amazing when you have a swarm of happy and excited kids. When Larry showed up, the kids gave swarmed him and gave him hugs and high fives. Clear and concise instructions by coach Larry, he was patient, funny and unpretentious. Down to earth and amazing happy vibes all around. Every academy should strive to be like this place. The members are warm, welcoming and patient with my newbie white belt self. No one was grinding for a submission, and just rolling to be better. I felt safe and learned a lot! Out of town travelers, Be aware the Florida humidity is rough. 90min will feel longer , this is why their members are all beast modes. Remember to hydrate! Highly recommended, and the hype is real! An all around well structured set up to learn mixed martial arts but jiu jitsu is their main area of focus. The instructors there are helpful and knowledgeable and the black belt students will help you learn as well. It has a good environment of getting everyone to learn and progress in their skills. Students from this academy also compete at MMA competitions and jiu jitsu tournaments as well. They also do separate classes for white/blue belts versus the other higher ups so students that are just beginning can learn the basics without getting overwhelmed. Although I can only speak to the Fit Camp classes and the physical space, in the two months that I've been a member I've been super happy with the value I'm receiving for my monthly payment. It's a clean, well-organized, fully-stocked gym that allows members to utilize open gym time if they are unable to make Fit Camp class that day. You can find everything from battle ropes to pull-up rigs to squat racks to dumbbells to punching bags (and everything in between). The space is well thought-out and accommodates classes of 10-25 people on a regular basis. At this point, I've attended classes lead by all of the different coaches and every person has their own coaching style but are all ultimately helpful and energetic and attentive to individual needs and modifications during the programmed workouts. I also enjoy that I can track my progress using the Wodify app the gym utilizes for attendance and payment purposes.
