Amazing old school style gym- tons of equipment, basically a jungle gym for a lifter. No crazy amenities, but you can truly feel the sense of community that's built off of a gym where everyone comes in to work. $20 for a week pass is a great rate, and the owners are awesome guys to chat with. Highly recommend, especially if you can snag a leg day and test out some of the neat pieces they have there. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I worked with a good trainer, but was not treated well when I had to discontinue my workout sessions due to a bad back. They refused to refund me - after only one workout session - and have offered only a very partial refund on quite an expensive package. I was not told that my payment would be non-refundable or I would not have signed up. I would not trust these people. read more

Kids boxing is fantastic! Full hour of exercise and skill building in a fun controlled environment and quite affordable. I like the roll up door on the boxing ring and gym for constant fresh air too. read more

Amp Gym - Trainers Near Me - St. Augustine, Florida

I moved to st Augustine in August of 2024 and found this gym and was excited to workout and also more importantly I wanted to go to the ju jistu classes. I found out the schedule for the class and took a Saturday off and attended the class and really enjoyed it. Matt was teaching that day and I observed the class and a few students and was very excited afterwards I came up and talked with the students and we all had a great conversation (minus Matt who left after class immediately) so I over the next week tried to contact Matt via texts and a phone call as per his request so we could talk about me starting in the classes but I never got any responses back. Not sure if this is the norm but eventually I just gave up and found another place. I think any responses would have been nice and respectful. The gym itself and classes were great I just wish a little more care was put out towards getting back in touch with people. read more

I love this gym! I am an out of towner but I come to St Augustine frequently to visit family. This is the second time I've come to this gym and I will not go to another gym! They are super friendly, the facility has everything I need and I love the energy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly environment with a variety of options for classes and workout equipment. read more

Ive heard great things about this place, I'm at a point in my life where I wanna change, for myself I wanna strengthen my mentality , I've heard you offer boxing classes, that is something I have recently taken interest in and will be in soon to maybe start something I'll end up loving which is learning how to box. read more

Found this gem while visiting the in-laws. I love gyms like this. All the old school bodybuilding machines, some newer, and endless weight. I don't mind no AC, but they have a lot of big fans in case you're worried. Will definitely come back every time I visit Saint Augustine. read more

I fell in love with this gym as soon as I walked in. I was in St. Augustine for the week on vacation, and this was the coolest gym I've ever been in; tbh coming back home to my commercial gym was heart breaking. All the employees were extremely friendly and there was no judgement from anyone. The environment they've created at this gym was like if Arnold and Franco had a love child. The array of equipment that I've never seen at any other gym besides this one was like I was in a dream. Hell I'd go back to St. Augustine from Tennessee any day just to workout here. read more

Phenomenal facilities, if a little hot in the florida heat- boxing and other classes are great and very involved

This place is incredible. This is a no BS Iron Temple for people that want to lift. The weights have some wear and tear, but that's not really an issue. The machine/freeweight variety is great. Highly reccomend. read more

Spent a weekend in St. Augustine needed just a couple days there. Front desk manager (owner i think) gave me and some buddies a discount. First off, the place is true to its name - hardcore. If you want bottled water service, luxurious locker rooms, and brand new life fitness machines that people use because they have no idea how to train then this is not the place for you. If you want an incredibly friendly staff, all the equipment from powerlifting to CrossFit and martial arts, in a cool warehouse with people that are there to train with a purpose - then this is the place! Such a great gym, family owned, offering an incredible training facility for people that want to train at all levels and backgrounds. If you want to exercise go to planet fitness, if you want to train come here! Would go back in a heartbeat next time I'm There. Really loved this place. read more

I told my parents that i had found the one and the disappointment on their face when they found out it was the gym was priceless. This place is great. Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful. If you want to work out at a place that doesn't care what you look like or wear then welcome home. Everyone who goes there only purpose is to be healthier then the day before. No AC which means you get a nice sweat going. They also offer boxing classes which is a great cardio workout out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE read more

One of the best gyms I have ever been to. There is no air-conditioning, tons of fans everywhere. The air is always moving, it's the perfect atmosphere for working out. When you start to sweat at other gyms you get cold because of the air-conditioning. This is the gym for those who want to WORK. Everyone is extremely nice, easy to talk to AND willing to help! We all are here for the same reason. The boxing ring and heavy bags really make this gym special. read more

I fractured my tibia back in late February and had some atrophy set in. I wanted physical therapy, but I also wanted to work my whole body not just my leg. Matt is very knowledgeable about how to work with injuries. I have worked with other trainers in the past and I have to say Matt is by far the best. Before our first session he sat with me and asked what my goals were. He had me keep of food journal for a week prior to our first workout. Other trainers I have worked with basically gave me exercises to do and that was it. Matt watches your muscles as you work out, so he can tell if you are benefitting from the workout. He explains what each exercise is designed to do. He helps with daily diet and doesn't give me hard time if I have had a few to may carbs. He is a cheerleader and very encouraging, he works with the whole person -- mentally, emotionally and physically. I was always somewhat trim, but because of Matt I have lost 12 pounds, and about 2 1/2 inches and there is not one bit of cellulite and back fat which normally sets in when you hit my age. What is even better... as an avid golfer, I am hitting the ball a minimum of 15 yards longer. I have even bought and worn my first 2-piece bathing suit since the birth of my daughter 21 years ago and actually worn it out in public! Because of his efforts, I am stronger and more flexible, I have better balance and most importantly, working out has become fun. I recommend him without reservation." He is truly the BEST trainer ever! Tammie Morton read more

What an awesome experience I had at this real steel and muscle gym. I was only in town for a few days and amp gym's $10 per day rate was a steal for this place. It has the aesthetics of being straight out of a Rocky/ Top-Gun movie type gym; but yet at the same time you feel comfortable and at home. I enjoyed every minute there and left inspired to workout even harder. Hard not to find any piece of strength equipment or boxing needs you want. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in St. Augustine. I highly recommend this gym. Owner was very welcoming as well. read more

I was in town on vacation & needed a place to pick up heavy things. Unfortunately, I didn't find this place sooner. It was perfect, had everything I needed: all weights, no BS. The staff was awesome & super friendly. The only rules were to clean up after yourself & be respectful of other patrons, so basically be an adult & you're good. If you are a serious lifter, this is the gym for you. If you're just learning to lift, this is the gym for you. I will be returning every time I'm back in St. Augustine. read more
