And that in the redesign they installed tanning beds which are known to significantly increase the risk of developing skin cancer seems counterproductive to a company fostering health and wellness. And speaking of construction why were members not given any sort of credit to compensate to not being able to use equipment including hydromassage??

Lav is hands down the best part of this gym. He knows just about everyone by name, remembers things you've told him, asks how your kids are doing, or how your vacation was. He genuinely cares about people, and you can tell it's not just part of the job. He makes everyone feel welcome, and because of him, the gym feels like a community instead of just a place to work out. The equipment may not be the newest, but it's always clean and gets the job done. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere, and Lav has a lot to do with that. There may be gyms with newer machines, but they don't have Lav. That's what keeps my family coming back.

The gym has made significant improvements so kudos to Chuze. However, I noticed that my monthly fee…read morehas increased $5 which caught me off guard. Five dollars isn't a lot but I wasn't notified about an increase and it's the principle for me. I was told they sent me an email to advise me of the increase. That's not true. I checked my mail and email before I inquired so I know it was done without any notification which isn't professional for any line of business. Did Chuze think I wouldn't notice or I wouldn't care or did they have every intention to increase everyone's monthly fee regardless so it would help them pay for their improvements? I respect what they've done with their gym but before you increase a member's fee whether they've been with you for 20 yrs or 6 months, they have a right to be notified ahead of time before you increase their rate. I kind of had higher expectations for this company and I hate to bring up Bailey's but they definitely communicated with their clients more professionally and accurately. If you want to be respected as a respectful company, then you should treat your clients with respect as well.

If you're deciding between baileys and planet fitness, let me say planet is cheaper and way cleaner. Baileys either cant or just won't staff before 8am here so the add ons of the massage chair and tanning are useless to anyone who is an early gym goer... something they didn't tell us when we signed up so I'm truly thankful I chose not to add on the massage option.
