Unfortunately, their business model has changed from "honest and hardworking" to "opaque and manipulative." The Technical Issues: In 2020, Santa Air installed my trane system but failed to properly connect the emergency heat strips. I spent five winters wondering why my house wouldn't stay warm below 30°F. They missed this mistake during every subsequent maintenance visit over the 5 years. Recently, they tried to charge me $1,700 for repairs I didn't need. A second opinion confirmed their diagnosis was wrong; that technician fixed Santa Air's original installation mistake and the actual sensor issue for a total of $575. The Billing Issues: Their current pricing "tiers" (Bronze, Silver, Gold) are incredibly over-inflated compared to other local HVAC companies. And if you only need a repair included in the Gold tier, you have to pay for all the things you don't need in the tiers below it. When I realized the invoice was vague and the work wasn't needed, I cancelled. The Ethics Issue: The most disappointing part was the office's response. They tried to emotionally guilt-trip me. They held my refund hostage, telling me they would only return my money if I removed my negative reviews. I refused to be coerced and had to fight for three months through my bank to recover the funds for services never rendered. The panel has been in the sun since the house was built. Terrible customer service and it seems like they aren't sure what they are doing. I wouldn't recommend.
